As of now, the only thing wrong with this video is the Mac portion. One small thing: macs are now 60% of the market. That's really it. I agree with most things but linux is definitely good for the average user. I recommend Ubuntu.
@darkfena313 It's pretty much the same as it was. If you're a geek and want to use it for yourself it should be fine for you, but there's still no way in hell I'd risk migrating an average user over to it.
@elithecomputerguy I do agree you for some distros but for ubuntu and linux mint one of my friend's cousins found it easier then windows and most people he switch do.
Before anyone buys the mac just because you "can't" get a virus as so many others have, read this!
Macs can get viruses, but the reason they don't is because of the market share. They have such a small cut, many hackers won't bother with them and will attack the general market (Windows). There was recently a major mac virus outbreak, BECAUSE THEY TOO HAVE VIRUSES.
@OutlawLovesNewVegas I have never ever had the tiniest problem with Macs getting viruses. The FreeBSD at it's core does make it harder to infect though.
OMG I really really really really really really truly admire you and appreciate you passing sharing your knowledge on to others(me). THANK YOU thank you thank you! Tomorrow (or tonight) is black friday and I think (my mom just told me we are!) gonna go shopping a laptop and this vid is the best tutorial ever. I love how you give us a 'pretty solid knowledge' on stuff. This is EXACTLY the way I learn: explain to me what IN THE WORLD ur talking about (first like a basic idea, and at the end have
Ram does not speed of your computer. The processor does.
When you run out of ram the computer then writes to the hard disk as a page or swap file. THAT slows your computer down. Don't tell people ram make there computer go faster, thats not what it does. I see your point of the video and it is a good one, however you shouldn't miss lead people to think you are a technician.
