By the looks of the tire tracks on that strip, it appears that runway was not suitable for a Cessna 402. It looks like the plane started to bog down. If my flight experience is correct, soft field take-offs are done with 10 degrees of flap, full aft elevator to get the nose wheel off the ground quickly, rotate as quickly as the airplane can, lower the nose to gain airspeed b4 climb from ground effect, gear up, flaps up. Can anybody tell me what happened here? Not a happy ending needless to say.
Well, I'm certainly not a CFII but I have been flying for 17 years and my conclusions are based on the ruts in the grass that look pretty deep to me. I am ASSUMING that ruts that deep in what looks like landing gear tracks, a collapsed nose gear and 2 twisted mains, leads me to believe that the field was too soft for a safe take off, especially an airplane the weight of a 402. Just my thoughts. Not trying to argue with anybody.
You may or may not be right. I've done quiet a bit of bush flying and I know that you can get into and out of some pretty nasty fields (one "field" I had to use was just the beach). You really need to walk to field to assess it. Before landing I always made a 2ft high pass to really give it a good look.
Yes sir, I do agree with you there. I don't have any bush flying background but I visual inspection of a risky runway is certainly smart. In reference to this video, the most important thing is that everybody was okay. Thanks for your comments.
It appears these ladies didn't have enough experience in soft-field take-offs. Sure ain't the same way as a regular hard-surface runway XD. Hehe... guess those two Egrets in the field were laughing their feathers off. Hope they're all OK (not the Egrets :)).
r u fucking kidding me? she is one of the best instructors we have in this country! so dont say she doesnt have experience! m.f that could happen to anyone!!
la pista estaba mojada acababa de llover no hacia mucho y la avioneta justo al momento de despegar se empezo a deslizar y a chocar contra las defensas, se elevo y cayo de frente al suelo..
Lost of control and pulled stalled at low speed and altitute. Happens a lot in USA too.

I'm not sure how you can determine anything like that from the video.
