  • He really seems to like hemis....too bad the new hemi's still have push rods...and the rockers on ALL hemi seem to look alot like the harley rocker that he picked up in the last video...I might be a little fuzy on this but didn't the 2nd gen hemi he refurs to only have two vaules... and weren't the combustion cambers round not oblong... correct me if I'm wrong but the hemi had two spark plugs on the outside of the camber not one in the middle...holyshit did i just described the harley head!

  • Important missed issue: I drove a Corvette C6 Z06 with 505 hp. And, you guessed it, it runs on a PUSHROD LS7 427 CI MOTOR!

  • Not sure where he is reading but Victory engine failures just don't happen. And when he ssays push rod technology aint that bad then why did the japanese, then Ford, GM and Chrysler go to it and the HD V-Rod does not have pushrods?

  • Dont listen to this dude, just read the thousands of forums talking about engine failures on victorys. The forums are not biased. Push rod technology aint that bad, the badest engines in motorsports use it, like top fuel cars. I also worry about stretching of that long cam chain. plus the motors are so noisy that you can hear them over an aftermarket exhaust. They are cool bikes wont lie, my 06 runs flawless no problems like you say it has, and its my daily driver. 100+ years vs 10 do the math!

  • After reading some of the comments about this Victory vs. Harley, I can't believe so many people are so mind **cked by Harley. I've repaired/built & have been riding Harley's for around 30 years and haven't been impressed with the new Harley's for many years, and that’s why I like the

  • Cont: older Bikes, Pans & Shovels, with all the updates and improvements that the owner, or mechanic has made to the bike, not Harley! And in the end who really cares? Or does Harley Davidson put gas in your tank? Do your research there are more American made parts on a Victory, than the new Harley’s, and yes your going to out source some of the work/parts, Medium & Heavy Trucks and Equipment, the Auto Industry has been doing this for years(Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Japan, ect ect).

  • Cont: As a mechanic, I'm very impressed with the modifications Victory has made to their engines/bikes, which tells me that Harley better wake up, and start listening to their customers or their going to loose sales to Victory, because Victory has done there homework and is offering what people/customers want! And for those who want to argue over B.S. No I don't own a Victory, and who cares if I did! Harley doesn’t put gas in my tank!, nor do they pay me to advertise for them!(so I don’t)

  • Cont: Besides I learned along time ago that it's not what you ride, or how you get there, but what you experience along the way of traveling there! Way to go Victory keep up the good work!!! And the ones that don’t “Get It” can continue to live in their disillusioned world, of “Wanna- Be –Make- Believe.” And Harley will continue to shovel you, no I mean sell you the dream

  • these vids really changed my mind about harley. victorys are just better engineered than harley.

  • Wow 64 gaskets wow ok my Harley wish is changin to a victory wish hmm these videoes are great thank you!

  • @kb9ylu bee cool and dont listen to this lier. The gaskets count will not tell you if the motor is more prone to leak. The 8 gaskets of Vic start leak at same time as the 63 gaskets of Harley. And it doesnt matter how many gaskets are leaking, even one does make a mess. Use your brain and you will see how stupid this guy is and how he is using untruth to trash talk the competition.

  • @MadIgor1 All you have to consider if one bike has 8 total gaskets and one has 63 the opportunity to have a leak is simply much greater, how do you think HD got the marking my spot tag?

  • @ArizonaVictory ...cont. The spot tag is a distant myth. There are occasional leaks in every engine production, but since late Evo there are not many HDs leaking. Yes before the HD was a marching oil can, its all due to new gasket materials used today. Hell even Japanese bikes used to leak a lot after few years of use back then in 70s. So the HD spot tag is same myth as your chain tensioner failure. HD made them for entire 8 years from 108. Since 2006/7 there is no problem, not like you presents

  • Yes, with the cooling capacity of 6 quarts it was found the engines actually ran too cool, and so Victory reduced the capacity so the engine could achieve operating temperture. Achieving operating temperture is important for engine performance.

  • This is all great info, but i am a bit confused about the oil capacity, the vid says with the smaller oil cooler they have went to 5 quarts, which is not so on my 2004 Vegas, oil change kit is 6 quarts and service book and owners manual all call for 6 quarts. Did they change it with the intro of the 100CI motor?

  • Mike needs his own Video Show and talk to the audience through the lens....

  • Sold! I've been going back and forth for a while between the two. As a mechanical engineer I'll go with Vic.

  • "yup, ok, wow, ok, yup, yup,ok"

This techincal stuff is a waste of time on the average Harley rider.

  • yup, ok, wow, ok, yup, yup, wow, ok,

  • harleys got the beautiful look to em, but vic has them beat in every other aspect. and BTW, harley hasn't made a real bike since the big twin evos. I love harleys, but my daily dependable rider will always be my '03 v92c.

  • I like how the guy is explaining this stuff to a guy who does not know how to check the oil in his car and just nods yup, yup, ok, got it. Haha not a clue.

  • Victory Motorcycle assembled at the Spirit Lake, Iowa facility, while assembly of the Freedom V-twin engine will also move to the Spirit Lake factory .This allows all Victory manufacturing and assembly to occur in a single location, and lets the manufacturer continue to state Victorys are "American-made motorcycles". Pandya also said there are "planned investments going into the Spirit Lake plant as it becomes the Victory Motorcycles Center of Excellence

  • Never heard of HD connecting rod failures.....BTW, Kawasaki Vulcan VN2000 is a pushrod motor and makes way more torque than a Vic.

    BS....HD 96, 103, and 110 hold 6 qts of oil total.

  • Never heard of HD connecting rod failures.....BTW, Kawasaki Vulcan VN2000 is a pushrod motor and makes way more torque than a Vic.

  • Why fix what ain't broke?? If anyone one of you owend a significatnt amount of HD stock - Would you really want your R&D Dept to spend you Millions on R&D that would not touch the Iconic HD's style and grace??

And in the END It's Still Not a Harley!!

  • @HDChop My grandma has style and grace, but she's not been upgraded in 30 years and requires several trips to the hostpital at A hefty price to keep her functioning, much like my buddie's Harleys. My 07' Victory was in the service Dept. once, I pulled in to talk to the mechanic. I figured, what the hell, he wasn't doin' anything anyway!

  • @HDChop Are you kidding me? Without R&D and technology advancement, any manufacturer will eventually die. HD is not an exception to the rule, as the new generations move up in age and take interest in cruisers, much like the gadgets they tote, they are going to want the latest and greatest in technology. HD is not immune to this. If I did own stock in HD and found out they were not investing in their own future, I would sell out.

  • Ha ha. You can tell Roger hates every second of participating in this segment. Great information.

  • I have an 09 Kingpin, Primary Case had oil droplets running across the top of the cover, not enough to run and drip, (Mark its Spot so to speak) but would leave dull steaks across the top of the chrome cover. I know of several Victorys doing the same thing. A new gasket and sealant solved the problem, was done under warranty.

  • Holy crap 109 years and those are the performance numbers HD produces.. Really? its takes a CVO to equal the bone stock performance numbers in victorys 2011 models. victorys cheapest model has the numbers of a CVO.. you would think in over 109 years they should be leading the way in Everything.. not only have they been around the longest, but are also the most expensive.

  • @Arkainzeye those performance numbers for the 103 are wrong, torque is 102 ftlbs at 3500 RPM, I dont have the HP number

  • 500to a 1,000 degrees into the air cleaner ? My heads on an 08 Road King are only running at 225 degrees, I wonder where the other 250-750 degrees are coming from?

  • Chevy 350, one of the most popular hot rod motors ever run, has pushrods.

  • drive shaft?

  • Victory does make an awesome motor, very powerful. My old 97 EVO with well over 125,000 never leaked a drop. My Vic developed a leak at the drive shaft, at 20,000.

  • @Candubrain Victorys dont have drive shafts! they are belt drive... LOL

  • @Arkainzeye you're right, but the shaft coming out of the transmission that turns the front drive pulley was leaking, I guess I should have called it the output shaft?
