Because she's Jigsaw's apprentice. He knew he was going to die one day, so he let her build some traps, and become the next Jigsaw. Jigsaw does this to let people know not to take their lives for granted, to treat peoplethe way they would be treated. Jigsaw is testing people to see if they really care about their lives, if they really want to live.

Problem is... Most of them die.

Now you may argue that it is because they didn't want to live hard enough, but... at the same time, he doesn't appreciate the lives of others, which would make him an egotistic self-centered psychopath. And as such he tries to push that trait on to others, such as in SAW I where he wanted for Gordon to kill his 'roommate' in order to survive. Makes other people to choose whether to kill someone or to die themselves.

Hoffman created the pendulum device which was used on his sister's murderer. Hoffman set the device up to mimic John's, to confuse the authorities. Hoffman has been Jigsaw's assistant since SawIV. After discovering what Hoffman was up to, Jigsaw kidnapped Hoffman and places him into a chair rigged with a shotgun at his chin, if he were to try to get out. As an alternative, Jigsaw offered Hoffman a chance of "rehabilitation". I honestly, don't know why he did not simply kill Jigsaw.

Well in saw 2 , the pig was in the bath in the bathroom (where everyone died in saw 1)

this guy was looking for his son cause jigsaw made him one of his victims. Eventually he found the bathroom and amanda said on a tape

theres a key (or somethin not quite sure what it was) in the bath to get set free (im not sure if its that or not) so he went in and the pig put in a needle which knocked him out. when he woke amanda locked him up in chains and left him there to die.
