@CCichlids @CCichlids Not at all. Same as siphoning gravel but the sand does get sucked up the siphon alot easier. The cons about sand is it raises your PH and makes your water hard but will eventually neutralize after months. Also it is bad for your filters as they can break your canister/hob filter's perpellar easy. I almost had one of my ac110's crapped out on me. I cleaned it and found sand in the filter alone...other then that it looks great:)

Niiiiice! Yep crystal clear for sure! What lighting bulbs are you using.....also love your 450....still can't talk your dad into bringing it in the house yet eh? lol Where abouts in Canada? Hamilton Ontario here. In the process of setting up a 300 gallon (96"x24"x30"). Just ordered the reeflo dart...how do you like it...I thought the return would be strong enough without needing powerheads but you use 2 that I see....any tips? Thanks man, keep the vids comin!

@Kennnny77 Thanks bro. I'm using a 2 x 96 watt 10k bulbs 36" coralife power compact fixture. Ya the 450's sump is way too loud to be in the house. My dad would never allow it hehe. I'm from Victoria, BC. Nice post a video once you get the 300 gallon set up. The reeflo dart is good. I'm running 2 x magnum 7-8 powerheads for extra circulation below for getting all the debris up to the overflow boxes. The Reeflo pump + the Fx5 is running my filtration cirlculation about 8 times an hour.
