  • @UNR3S7 Are you getting all smug because you have a reflow oven setup for soldering SMD parts?

You can NOT wait for the part to heat up enough to melt the solder... the part will cook.

Did you not know this, genius?

  • thanks for the video, it was pretty helpful

  • Normally this would be the wrong approach to soldering, BUT, not when it comes to soldering an LED

  • This is true for some things, but w/such small surface area you need to wet the tip. With flux on the LED and wire, the solder will flow quite readily.

  • if you want a modded controller go to my channel. view my modded controller video and in the description is a link to my ebay.. i have a 7 mode stealth new red controller. best deal around!!!

  • 9v battery.. nice.. thats only 6v's over voltage...

  • what kind of soldering iron is that and what kind of solder is that?

  • You know it really depends on WHAT is being soldered.

  • 9volt!? don't you thing that's a bit much but that's cool and good to know since I'm having a bit of trouble in soldering my 0603s

  • I couldn't get any of my LEDS to light up using a AA.

  • Thats hard for me.

    I suck at soldering.

I thought tining the wires was hard.

    TT

  • that would burn the LED in about a second...

  • @tibor29 no

  • @tibor29

Not necessarily. I've hand soldered many SMD LED's and have yet to have one burn up, using a normal soldering iron, and doing it the proper way. What you have here is a cold solder joint that will not make very good connection in the long run, and will fall apart rather easily.

  • smd ;)

  • were did you get the LEDs from

  • ebay

  • are thos smt leds? or smd?

  • smd

  • I like the tape. Very smart. Wish I would of thought of that...

  • yeah thx, its a great method, no more leds stuck to the tip

  • did u tin anything first?

  • how many volts is that battery u tested it on?

  • I beleive 9v

  • yep its a normal 9V battery, thats why i only connect the led to it for short periods otherwise it would burn out

  • yea i tink you would need a resistor if you wanted to keep it on for a long period

  • superman :D ty si vol

  • fajneeeeeeee
