I'm blessed to have been a teenager in the 80's we had the best metal ever...and metal ballads were the best. My 16 yr old daughter LOVES the 80's metal
I met Ron about 10 years ago in a club and told him how much of an influence he was on my band. I then proceeded to get drunk and insult him and he really wanted to kick my ass! Getting into a fight with one of the people who made me want to get into music what a rush! Stupid yes, but still fun sorry Ron! I still love this song
A truly beautiful melody. This song stuck in my heart, and late at night in my cell it helped me through more than once. Now a free man..I can once again hear it whenever I want! Reminds me of a dozen women at one....a haunting aching rock ballad.
This song reminds me of when I was like 5-6 years old riding with my mom on the way to my grandmas, it was really hot, the highway lanes were whitish-gray with usage over the years, and there was a semi next to us, and I could smell the diesel soot in the air. This song was playing on the radio and It just totally changed my state of my mind that day.
This song reminds me of when I was like 5-6 years old riding with my mom on the way to my grandmas, it was really hot, the highway lanes were whitish-gray with usage over the years, and there was a semi next to us, and I could smell the diesel soot in the air. This song was playing and It just totally changed the state of my mine from then on.
Although I respect ballads as a musician, very few heavy metal bands could make them sound genuine.
Tears of Fire really struck a chord (no pun) in my heart. It is a beautiful song. And these people got signed for their talent, passion, and the fact that there were 2 members of this band that, although they could have quite a bit of fun, were very business like and pros. You both know who you are. Hi Marc!!
This song, Honestly by Stryper and Never Let You Go by Steelheart are probably the best power ballads of hair metal. I would even give an honorable mention to Don't Know What You Got by Cinderella.
I don't know why bands today can't play like this, sound like this, look like this!!!
Bands today are just a bunch of guys making noise with guitars and they even suck at composition... screamo, "nu-metal", WTF?? "screamo"... I mean what the hell is that? and why everybody jumps to it?
@scg17325 Todays so called "metal" bands, grunge, alternative rock, rap, hip-hop, dance, etc. none of that matters. All that matters is 80s metal and hardrock, which is quality music. And if some bands today want to revive 80s metal, then they need to be supported.
Oh my God... It was bad enough that he was warbling like some pansy, but I was willing to give it a shot. Then, he busted out the keytar. Newton's Fourth Law of Physics: One CANNOT rock with a keytar.
I LOVED this song and band!! They were one of the best of the 80's. Under rated as hell. Ron Keel is one if the greatest singers out there! Long Live KEEL!!

80's ballads are the best!!! I still listen to this song today!! This song, along with Vinnie Vincent's Love Kills, Saraya's Timeless Love, Dokken's Walk Away, Stryper's Together As One, and many others did not get the recognition they certainly deserved!!!! Those songs were filled with passion unlike anything we hear now!!
my god i love this song! one of my favorite ballads, and its not utter saccharine like most of the hair metal bands out there. props to gene simmons for giving these guys their time in the spotlight as the producer of this and the right to rock.
Yeah, because I'm sure you and your little band have done better than Keel. Give it a rest...these guys earned their stripes back in the day. Can you say the same?

I consider myself a very liberal person who voted for obama but originally supported Dennis Kucinich in the Democratic Primaries. As far as music tastes, I prefer 80s metal over 90s grunge and alternative. The way I look at the 80s, the President sucked, but the music rocked.
Actually music should be unpolitical I dont think eighties metal was either conservative or liberal, however i do remember the nineties and how they kicked out the previous staff of MTV for a bunch of college student liberals who were in.
