Although I respect ballads as a musician, very few heavy metal bands could make them sound genuine.

Tears of Fire really struck a chord (no pun) in my heart. It is a beautiful song. And these people got signed for their talent, passion, and the fact that there were 2 members of this band that, although they could have quite a bit of fun, were very business like and pros. This song, along with Vinnie Vincent's Love Kills, Saraya's Timeless Love, Dokken's Walk Away, Stryper's Together As One, and many others did not get the recognition they certainly deserved!!!! Grunge killed this type of music. It was the polar opposite of what true rock was at the time (depressing-Nirvana,STP, etc). When this stuff was gone a lot of people didn't like grunge and got into rap (at least a LOT of people I knew). Until the late 90's there was nothing really all that good out, but even then it was never the same!
