I'd say look at the composition of the shots and the seem less flow between the cuts and the '90%' effects. Looks like someone who knows how to gel image and effects to keep tempo and energy. As for 'unnecessary', should he just write a paragraph about what he can do? Point of show reel is to show.

hey there - thanks for the comment! music is by RJD2, i can't quite remember the name of the track - but its quite prolific - its on an album that has a track called 'Cut out to Fl' on it as well.
