I don't see how people that don't like zelda say there main reason is it's the same thing (which it ain't.) But you can compare that to cod portal GTA and allot more.
Ocarina of Time is an unmatched game on a multitude of levels. I can name so many good games, old and new, that are excellent and that i love. However, none of them compares to OOT. OoT had a distinct charm to it that kept you in, the gameplay elements revolutionized how to play games in the third dimension, from the Z targeting system to the HUD and so much more, OoT had so much innovation for its time that most gamers owe the way they play games now to that game
@generosos87 (cont), it had so many things to do, even picking it up again now after beating it over twelve times over the past ten years, ive still found something new to do in it. It was an expansive game that was nonlinear and linear all at once, and the story seemed like something JRR Tolkien would write (love LOTR!!!). The overall point of this comment is, OoT stands the test of time as the greatest video game ever created, both imo and in fact. FUCK FFVII, although thats great too
@generosos87 With your logic, wouldn't Super Mario Bros. be the greatest game ever due to it supposedly reviving the video game entertainment back then by showing how popular and fun and successful a game could be? I dunno, but I don't think that something is amazing just because it came first with it's ideas. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great game having played it last year, but I don't have childhood nostalgia about this game to think it beats all others.
I should make a vlog too! I love Zelda: Ocarina of Time so so much! It is not just a game, there are so many aspects, so many side quests, even some that you have never done before!! I think it is the fact that we grew up with it that made us so attached. I love it that there are so many other people (like me, lol) who love it so much, it is embarrassing, even in class I will read the book on it.
I know what you mean, it being so much more than a game. It's really special to me as well because it was such a big part of my childhood, (like Harry Potter, Pokemon, etc.) I spent about 3 years playing it, and it was all I could think about. I love your passion for it :)

I completely agree with you. It is my absolute favorite game and nothing has been eligible to compare. I can't say its the best game ever because I'm an extremely picky gamer and don't play that many games (honestly, its 90% Zelda.)

It is INDEED like a good book. Heck, I've even tried to write it all into a book, but bless my soul, I'm just not that good a writer, lol. MM is good too. I like that it's a "sequel" to OoT. My only complaint is the constant time limit.
