Thanks for this post. We had this arrangement with us when the Band was in the inaugural parade for Reagan. We were on the parade staging ground at the top of a hill when word arrived that the Iran hostages had been freed. Longhorn Band responded by playing this piece. All across the parade grounds, military units in their finest dress snapped to attention. In the Marine unit near us, I saw all these big tough, Marines, motionless, with tears streaming down. That's the power of music. Thanks.
Thanks so much for posting this! As a member of the band, this moved me so much. Hearing 100,000 sing with us was amazing, and the crowd reaction was one of the largest I have ever heard in my tenure in the band. This was truly incredible.
