  • If paul gilbert is sweeping this shit is serious....

  • UP the Irons!

    or rather.. UP the Gilberts!

  • I'm proud to say that I was able to play this song completely!!!

  • @Cako645 you were? was it like in a dream? im not saying you can't play it but why did you say i was able?

  • @1withguitar I mean play it on guitar :D... and real life btw haha XD... of course I'll never play it as this fuck (god) :/

  • alpha whores ?? wtf, seriously :P ??

  • aint got shit on the all mighty paul gilbert!!

  • its amazing how to this day, every guitar video on youtube is commented with which guitarist is better if we are watching the true pros. guys think about it this way, it doesnt matter how good you are. until guitar playing ends on earth(if it ever does) there will always be someone out there that is better than the one ppl think is the best. there will always be a player somewhere better than malmsteen, vai, satch, hendrixx, and even EVH. just respect the music...

  • @Israelsniped120 Good point, but there will never be guitar players whi are better than other guitar players. In my opinion, John Petrucci is the best guitar player in the world, but someone else might think he sucks. You can't compare guitarists.

  • @guitarbassist95 another good point..every guitarist out there that has a set skill, has his own style unless he is a cover artist only. that style makes him/her unique and therefore how can anyone really say who is truly best

  • one of the best intro i ever tasted ~ ummm :3

  • hmmm iron maiden-ish Ö

  • sorry@jordan529

  • @kristofer12345 You speaks about two diffrent types of guitar players.

That's not the question whos the better one.

The music is important and I say they are awesome musicians

  • No-1 else think that riff sounds like something out of Queen? kicks ass!!!!!

  • @HughRBA hahaha yes i was thinking where that sounded familiar!

  • @jordanp529

    probobly cuz gilbert taught carroll

  • 2:42 That key change makes the song for me!

  • sick 1st pic's a rhino not a gargoyle bum but great song

  • @randyrhoads61

It's a rhino because the album cover is like that.

  • @friki092 youtube had to take it down because to many people clicked it and broke it.

  • sakemos esta jano ta wena wn

  • God damn it, this is so much the best piece of recent music i have ever listened to.

  • 4:18 What the fuck?

  • I just can't stop listening!!!!!

  • i will use this as my theme song for my coming super hero movie lol

  • This would be better if it was a BTBAM song

  • JEEZ. IN MY PANTS. I MEAN BUCKET.

  • I think this song is more yngwie as gilbert

  • @kristofor12345 that like saying Joe Sats is better then Kurt Hammet...its all about the style sure the taught this guys to sheard but they also have totally different styles of music I mean compare Berine Bucket of Brains to Racer X.....totally different music or Sats band to Metallica..again totally different. I will say that Paul is the man though

  • he was like a first flame to neo classical shred

  • @zorindani1

Huh? What about Yngwie Malmsteen? Jason Becker? And all thse other guys? This doesn't have so much neoclassical feel to it IMO.

  • so jealous of buckethead to have this guy as his teacher

  • I think the only guitar dude that could be in the level of PG is MAB (Batio) no disrespect to MAB he's one of the greatest of all time as well lm/

  • @jcaj89 not even. while MAB has amazing speed and is a great player, he's not even in the same realm as Paul Gilbert in terms of technical proficiency. Marty Friedman, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Jason Becker (before MS) would be in the same league, as well as a few others. MAB is very overrated because of his speed but he lacks imagination and improvisation.

  • @Thurman91 Well a lot say that MAB is the greatest which it could be... but I have never seen other guitar player playing the licks that PG uses for example I saw an instruccional video where he shreds from low E and jumps to the high E and backwards...... thats insane..... :o .. If I had to choose I'll go for PG lm/

  • @Thurman91 ??? MAB is probably has the most clean technique nowadays. He can play almost everything: 5 & 6 string sweeps, string skipping, alternate & economy picking, hybrid picking - all of them at insane speeds with 0 mistakes playing LIVE (I've seen him 3 times). He also invented the "Gargoyle Lick". His music might sound "strange" to some, but it's because his style mainly comes from jazz instead of rock/blues.

  • @kernelpanikteam But hes an emotionless shredder

  • @berts1405 I find a lot of emotion in many of his songs, it's my personal opinion though. Saying that a song has or not emotion is a very subjective matter, since every musician connects with his audience in different ways. I respect all the different opinions about this.

  • @kernelpanikteam

"Emotion" is a buzzword which has long been rent useless by vague insinuations that fast guitar players can't play emotively. Ignore it, for it's generally an ignorant comment. Also, I find for those guys "emotional" playing really describes one emotion , or slow, bend-heavy licks.

  • @Daim0th well said

  • @berts1405 BTW I also enjoy Paul Gilbert A LOT, I'm his fan since 1990 when I saw Intense Rock 2 :)

  • @berts1405 Retard. Listen to more of his stuff. For instance "I cannot tell a Lie". He is one of the most versatile shredders out there. He plays everything. Check out "Down to Mexico". Who is YOUR favorite guitarist?

  • @notafraidoffuture Dude im talking about Micheal angelo batio not paul gilbert

    paul is the best

  • @berts1405 sorry

  • @berts1405 strange, I feel lots of emotion in his seemingly tasteless lightning-fast patterns...

  • @prankovalero I talkinh about micheal angelo batio!!

    jesus

  • @berts1405 and I'm also talking about MAB.

  • @prankovalero wel i dont feel any emotion

  • @berts1405 you don't, i do :D

    Peace out!

  • fucking love the end solo

  • can i has thumbs up? :D

  • ehm... buckethead was paul's stundent :|

  • @ritzanu90 for what.... three months :|?

  • @MaxvergaxS yeah.. but am I right or not?

and still.. Paul is much better

I'm not saying that I don't like Buckethead, but just compare his live shows with Paul's.

  • @ritzanu90 buckethead cant seem to keep to a routine, he tends to repeat himself often and solo overtop of everyone, its kind of messy sounding, dont get me wrong, hes still better than i am, i speak the truth tho

  • @Taud I agree.. he is much superior to us, but inferior to paul

  • @Taud Dig deeper into youtube and you'll find the best of Buckethead songs. Ever heard Cosmic Calendar? It's amazing.

  • @UnknownSect333 no doubt its an alright song, but i still spoke the truth there, everyone has strengths and weaknesses

  • @Taud Buckethead has a strength in music, Paul has a strength is speed and technicality.

  • @ritzanu90 for a week. paul said in his own interview he probably learned more than he taught if he did that. he taught him for like a week. so its not that big of a deal

  • its that rhino mentality!

  • where's the "I CAME" button?

  • @friki092

    there isnt one

  • @friki092 It came and went.

  • @friki092

they dont have one, just make a joke about it in the comments section if you do so

  • This song would fit perfectly in a touhou game :D

  • kiasdfkbHBseifOGFAFGBABGoubaodfvgoubn voHAKJBOAAHR]ASIODFJKbopBH9agftadihjbvihaserjhgioyasgdfiln,.JNOUihuihUIHiuhairbiuvn8haertq3u 4baidufhviubakbouhdfgibikabhrothadfguihaert.......sorry i couldnt stop headbanging and it kinda got out of control

  • @Faustblix : saying buckethead is greater than paul gilbert can get u arrested in 39 different countries

  • Stop argueing go out n get laid dick ed's jesus christ this bullshit on guitar videos is pathetic, grow a pair n fuck off

  • I believe many of you have only hear Soothsayer, and some songs from Crime Slunk Scene. Therefore, that DOES NOT give you the right to say either buckethead is better than Paul or Paul better than Buckethead. If they were to make a Jam Fighting. None would win, the judges would die of awesomeness.

  • I think all you people must realize that paul taught buckethead for over a year during bucketheads training

  • Buckethead > Paul Gilbert. I appreciate Paul and love him a ton, but all you folks saying Paul trumps Bucket, I wager you all haven't heard everything Buckethead has done. They're also different styles - its like comparing Steve Vai to Marty Friedman... you just can't do that. I will say this though, Paul's rocking is really locked into theory, and Buckethead goes places Hendrix never knew about. This is why I say Bucket > ALL. This where you all ignorantly rebuttal, and I don't waste my breath.

  • @Faustblix *Hits nose with rolled up newspaper* Bad youtuber! Paul Gilbert is an undefeatable musician.

  • @Buttanick Haha

  • @Faustblix not bad for someone who hates 'trolling'( jk ) ;D...well i would say that u just cannot compare "A R T ".... which is what ur listening here, art pieces, and Art my FRIENDS, is all subjective.. so only bc of this, i think is good enough reason to stop comparing 2 MASTERS :D .. i think theres too much kid around here tbh :P.... *Peace*

  • Paul is the only guitarist who could ever write an emotional, smooth, creative and technically advanced wonder of a masterpiece like this. His songs aren't pure über shreddage either, that's what I like about them. That's why I find Yngwie boring. Has that man ever struck a chord in his lifetime?

  • If this song were a woman, I would be married.

  • 19 can suck my gargoyle.

  • EARGASMIC!!!

  • This sounds like Paul Gilbert showing Dragonforce how to play like themselves.

  • 19 people do not understand the epic face melting awesomeness of paul gilbert!!!!

  • Everyone sounds like a god on this track. Is that Marco Minemann on drums and who is the bassist?

  • @Hertsman50 It's Mike Szuter on Bass and Jeff Bowders on Drums, I think Marco Minemann joined Necrophagist afterwards and is doing his own thing now.

  • @Wiegraf768 thanks for the info dude, much appreciated.

  • buenisimo el tipo, toca como quiere. menos mal que todavia quedan de los buenos.

  • 19 people are tired of life.

  • Paul Gilbert = Guitar God

  • 19 people had a seizure and hit the wrong button because Paul owns EVERYBODY !!! pick a song, any song !! It's hard to beat a genious !!!

  • @bobbyalligator7 shut up with those stupid comments fucktard

  • I like herman li, but this is what Dragonforce wants to be when it grows up.

  • @nulife022 And I hate Herman Li

  • @Voddgreen Na, I don't hate him - Except he plays the same basic solo on every tune. PG is epic - way ahead of everyone else now, way the hell out on the cutting edge - flying through time and space with The Gargoyle, dam, what a player

  • @ 1:50 - 2:10 ... I dare a bass player to figure out that ! It's so crazy? perfect!! ... and the ending ... @ 4:15 , THE BEST particular ending to a song I've ever heard, or my favorite ;-)

  • @bobbyalligator7 thats problably billy sheehan. in my eyes, hes the greatest bassist to ever walk the earth

  • Man! I wanna see some HQ video of this !!

  • I think the drummer is a clydsdale 18 hands high !!

  • 1:50-2:10, I heard an E.M.P. go off !!!

  • @bobbyalligator7 whats an EMP and are you talking about Beckers go off?

  • Comment removed

  • @bobbyalligator7 dude my mind is so wrapped around guitar that i was trying to figure out if you were talking about a song or guitar player lol. Yes i know what an emp is lol.

  • I just saw a wizard on a mountaintop next to the sea. He shoots lightning into the clouds as hes creams into the night.

  • @TheDJNaylor i just saw the same thing except the mountaintop was flying across the sea haha

  • Gilbert fucking owns. Hands down.

  • the solo is 1000 % war :D...and then the mainriff kicks in and the sun explodes...

the only one who still stands is paul with his guitar fighting the whole universe. And he fucking WINS :D

  • i would sell my soul to be able to play at least half as good as him

  • @frogbusterjr Or you could take up guitar and practice the shit out of it. How do you think Gilbert got to be so good?

  • I wanna see him jam with Buckethead, that would be the shit.

  • @kristofor12345

    people would die.

  • @destroyallnerds - Just from the pure awesomeness of them two being on the same stage

  • @kristofor12345 WTF are you talking about Buckethead Is A shitty player compared to paul you can never ever ever ever compare any guitar player to paul gilbert , buckethead ... his name is a shame :S

  • @nerotomas Buckethead is a great and versatile musician, I personally enjoy his music better than Paul's but that's just me. Besides I wasn't comparing the two, I was saying that they're both good guitar players and seeing them together would be the shit. But why would you hate on any guitar player? Especially someone like buckethead, people like that have busted their asses for years to do what they love, even if their music isn't something you find as good.

  • @kristofor12345 Buckethead's mask would melt onto his face, and forever shall he have the accursed mask welded tio his very persona.

  • @DestroyedCunt I dunno, I mean Gilbert can't make good chill songs the way BH can, he certainly shreds faster if that's what you mean.

  • @kristofor12345 I'd agree if you said Giblert doesn't make good chill songs because he doesn't want to, and even then that depends on what you think is 'good' and 'chill'. There's very few things Paul Gilbert can't do on guitar.

  • @42akhan All musicians have limitations. But even if Gilbert can be versatile but chooses not to, that still means a lack of versatility. Now there's a lot of people who don't care and just wanna hear him do what he does best, which I have no problem with; but I personally like buckethead's music more because he expresses more emotion more often and can do some pretty badass stuff as well.

  • @kristofor12345 More emotion more often? On albums like Crime Slunk Scene? We'll have to agree to disagree.

  • @42akhan Personally I may disagree with him, but I think the albums he'd be talking about would be more like Electric Tears and Colma. I love both artists, though.

  • @42akhan Crime Slunk Scene is an awful album, Soothsayer is alright but I agree with you it's a soulless piece of crap. But that should not represent buckethead's entire musical ability, many other albums show much better music that's actually pretty innovative in a lot of ways.

  • @kristofor12345 more emotion...what???? on what song

  • @distortme09 Machete (the solos), A Real Diamond in the Rough, Sanctum, Nottingham Lace (live), Mantaray, Padmasana, Ghost, Asylum of Glass (live), The Miracle of Surrender, Four Rivers, Earth Heals Herself, Too Many Humans, Mustang, Inward Journey, Shadows Between the Sky, City of Woe, Broken Mirror......and those are just the ones I know, there's so many albums of his I haven't heard

  • @kristofor12345 I'm not about to get into an argument over this, because it's all so very subjective , but I gotta say you're making the mistake of presuming emotional playing equates to blues licks from what I've heard on that list.

  • @42akhan I think it's more of natural minor/triad-based licks that are played with blues techniques (slides and bending) on the songs that I like, but I'm not at all trying to demean Gilbert (or even say that Buck is better) and I can completely understand why someone would like Gilbert more. I just don't like the idea of people judging buckethead based on his mindless shred songs, because he has some good stuff that's really worth hearing.

  • @kristofor12345 I agree with you 100 percent. Buckethead has some albums that I just wont listen to, but then he has some of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. There is a Buckethead song for everyone. Paul Gilbert and Buckethead are my two favorite guitarists and I don't feel like one is better than the other, they just have different styles.

  • @kristofor12345 Have you heard "I Cannot Tell a Lie"? I think thats pretty chill and it shows a lot of emotion. I personally prefer Paul because i think he really knows what he is doing you can see that in his instructional videos he explains off of what he plays his stuff. Don´t get me bad i really like Buckethead but prefer Paul

  • @kristofor12345 watching gilbert play with buckethead is like watching the twin of gilbert. i would like to see gilbert play with malmsteen, two different styles and techniques but both kick ass...

  • @silentboy85 They sound nothing alike, they're in the same school of guitar playing but are ver different in other ways, the main thing is that Buckethead borrows much more from blues than Paul

  • @kristofor12345 Paul is also so much better than Bucket Head.

  • @jordanp529 Paul is Buckedhead ;]

  • @ThePawelel Thats not true, a lot of people think that but hes not buckethead

  • @jordanp529 I think paul would probably be a bit offended by what you said.

Paul Gilbert taught buckethead for a year and I know for a fact that he'd be so proud of buckethead right now. Buckethead is the closest thing a guitarist will ever be to a composer, and still be able to play heavy metal like he does.

  • @jordanp529 oh shut the hell up

Even paul himself has huge respect for Buckethead, so why can't you? Because you have no idea what you're talking about

  • @xTiLkx paul himself has huge respect for buckethead? where did you find that information out? that dude knows EXACTLY what hes talking about man. You just keep thinking that buckethead is untouchable but DONT try to lecture other people about how great he is because youre WRONG.

  • @camsell456 What the fuck are you talking about? You realize it's possible to respect someone without being his fan-bitch right? How about you fucking educate yourself before posting irrelevant crap.

  • @jordanp529 Buckethead's bucket would explode under the pressure of Paul's playing!

  • @jordanp529 paul also taught buckethead

  • @jordanp529 shut the fuck up

  • @jordanp529 Simply I dont think so, both are very multifaceted and have stratospheric skill and are so high that is simply rediculous and puerile to compare them. Its like compared Satriani and Malmsteen... The cuestion is only that they are different styles and I love Bucky and Mr.Paul the true musicians that must be respected and apreciated instead of manufactury mainstrem "musicians"

  • @jordanp529 Why people always gotta compare? Their 2 different musicians, not athletes.

  • @Zaspor "Same shit.... different pile..."

  • @jordanp529 no shit...

  • @jordanp529 Student and teacher (Paul)

  • @jordanp529 Paul is better in the technical area. Buckethead pretty much has everything else...

  • @jordanp529 Apples and oranges

  • @jordanp529 Paul Gilbert is bucket head :3

I was told by the gargoyle c:

  • @jordanp529 that's just an opinion.

  • @jordanp529 Dude, Paul TAUGHT Buckethead. To diminish one is to diminish the other.

  • @ILoveHandles nah dude Paul IS Buckethead lol

  • @jordanp529 I wouldnt say he is better, but Im not sayn buckethead is better either, buckethead is more emtional guitarist. So is paul but he is too, but his style is like faster than usual. I respect your opinion though

  • @jordanp529 Paul kick buchet head's ass !

  • @sleepwalker9096 Maybe speed-wise. But Paul even said, "He's quicker than I am."

  • @silentboy85 the song viking kong was wrote as a duet for paul and malmsteem but malm never did it.......sad i would love to see them play it together.

  • @RonRonson33 seriously?

  • @kristofor12345 I think those two on stage at one time could make the world implode lol

  • @kristofor12345 watch buckethead be paul gilbert just wearing the mask and the bucket hahaha

  • Obviously everyone is still butt hurt about what I had previously commented. To reply to the obvious paul gilbert fans, he is a great teacher and innovator of the metal world. In my opinion, yngwie has invented a more classical, yet shredding kind of guitar playing, and that's it! Sure, others are great in their own ways, but if your talking speed and originality, I'd say yngwie's got em beat, hands down! End of discussion...

  • @tdub420ish no, yngwie is less individuality than most other guitarists.

    that's the end of discussion.

  • i listen to paul gilbert and i JIZZ....IN....MY PANTS

  • no one rocks single coils like paul

  • there are guitar players....and then there is paul gilbert.....dude cant be led, only followed..

  • Wohoo! 800 likes! Let's get up to 8000!!!

  • this song gives me a boner

  • Difference between Paul gilbert and Michael Angelo Batio: MAB only does technical songs, while PG makes artistic songs.

Concerning Malmsteen, he only plays the same licks all the time, first you enjoy, but when you discovers that his others songs are moreorless the same, you don't have any doubts on who is the best.

Conclusion: Malmsteen and MAB can suck it! Paul Gilbert ROXXX

  • @DrMatban Well if you really analyze what they're doing, you can really distinguish what Yngwie is playing, and it's not all the same. They're all pioneers in the rock ways, but Yngwie is definately one of the the best to ever do it! He is the original pioneer for neoclassical guitar playing. Yngwie was Eddie Van Halen's idol, and Eddie was Paul's idol. Randy Rhodes was MOB's idol. Yngwie was just the baddest of his time, I haven't heard anyone with matched speed or versatility.

  • @tdub420ish

Chris Broderick and Jason Becker. Nuff said.

  • @tdub420ish are you fucking shitting me?

and its Randy fucking RHOADS dammit

  • @tdub420ish Dude, then you must not know about Micheal Angelo Battio

  • @tdub420ish then you never heard about two untouchable guitarists Jason Becker and Shawn Lane.
