  • 3:30 to get right into it

  • your video stream cuts out too much and the voice and image do not meet up. Also, don't spend so much time talking about the videos. you took over 3 minutes of an 8 minute video rambling about the videos, paying you and such. But I do applaud you for your passion in teaching chem, especially organic chem.

  • he looks like peter parker

  • CHEMISTRY ROCKS! -_-

  • black people cant do chemistry.

  • @CrazyCaptainWillie

its not true and extremely racist but your blunt honesty made me luagh so i liked your comment ..lol

  • @CrazyCaptainWillie

that's pretty racist but your blunt honesty made me laugh

  • @CrazyCaptainWillie that's such a lie and I must say, you are very ignorant! #highlydisappointed. I know many black (Africans)/ black Americans that can teach and do extremely well with and in chemistry.

  • THANKYOU! :)

  • holy fuck just teach it already

  • @FrEEzEStEEzE802 at least he is providing these good videos

  • 50 videos!!!

  • thank you sooo much for teaching i am in my 1st orgo class. and i am having trouble wrapping my head around this topic. i am great full and thankful to u

  • nqt! he's talkin too much nd i don get nothin aarrgghh

  • i don't understand it, and tomorrow i have a test on this.

  • @lydianyagitari lol me too :( guess im just gonna flunk it ,ni sherlyne:)

  • @lydianyagitari lol me neither btw ni sherlyne

  • lol if hes so smart why cant he make the sound in sink with the visuals

  • @xtcarnage15586 If you're so smart, why is it you can't spell sync?

  • @davethedm nobody seplls on teh interwebs

  • lol nerdy

  • lols!!! if u dnt want to be handicape.. lik wtf guy juz start the mofo lesson soo i cn finish my darn homewrk!!!

  • @mizzpolloloco You're taking Organic Chem? Try learning English first.

  • I can make eye contact vids in exchange for your Chen vids?

  • put your arms down

  • Stfu the guy is into making money..doesn't explain s***!!

  • wtf i just want an example or my hw -__-

  • daniel tosh before he made it to hollywood

  • A young Stephen Hawking?

  • OMG I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS

  • 49 videos to go. God damn it.

  • @PcatPrep LMFAO

  • his hand waving is so mesmerizing

  • SHUT UP and get to the point

  • 3 minutes of intro, just stop talking and show us.

  • @paganboy1982 If you can't figure out how to fast forward a video, you shouldn't be taking O Chem...

  • if you are looking for practice problems/test prep, don't waste your time. even in video FIFTY you are still given arrows and asked to determine whether they are legal. these videos only cover the basic rules of drawing resonance structures and are NOT helpful if you are reviewing for a test.

  • to whom it may concern,

    lecture starts at 3:14

  • dude..I fucking love you..no homo

  • this is awesome you are amazing thank you so much for all of your videos and time

  • i love him.... he is really helpful.. i used his video for my gen chem also...

  • just a slip-up i'm sure, but the formal state of oxygen is two lone pairs and two bonds, or one double bond (4:00)

  • gotta be a really nice guy to take the time to do this, especially not forcing anyone to pay either. Great lesson, great teacher.

  • Thank you for explaining how to draw resonance structures! I've been struggling with this topic for quite awhile!

  • woah that was way too easy when you explained it!

  • i've only watched this first video but i can already tell your videos are going to be a great help to me! thank you for spending your free time helping students that you don't even know/aren't even teaching. I really appreciate it!!

  • Wish I found you in time for my first two exams! THANK YOU

  • thank you so much for posting these videos.

  • hmm. how dyu know how many resonance structures there are?

  • go to 3:15 if you wanna skip to the lesson

  • 1st year nanotechnology- Now I'll make it to the second.

  • @Sirstupi where do you go that has a nanotechnology degree?

  • Comment removed

  • i don't get how my teacher expects us to do this for the chem final tomorrow if she didn't even explain this....THANKS MAN :D

  • OR . . . your a student in the middle of medical school wondering why the hell i still need to know ochem !!!!!

Thanks for your videos. Solid foundation in the basics really helped me in biochem

  • thumbs up if b4 the chem exam u find this life saver whihc made ur day =))

  • what a weirdo why does he move his hands all the time?

  • man i like this guy :D

  • if only i knew you ealrier.. you would have saved my grade.. BUT.. ANYWAY.. YOU WILL BE SAVING MY GRADE FOREVER AND EVER.. hahaha..

  • STOP TALKING AND EXPLAIN! God.

  • I cannot believe there are 24+ video explaining how to draw resonance structures! Do any of these people posting thanks go to class or read a text book? How long does it really take to explain that resonance structures are hybridizations of all forms of a molecules structure? Pick up the speed on the teaching, no one taking Organic Chemistry should be learning at this rate..... I think the idea is cool, but lets learn things at a realistic pace. Special Ed wasnt in the title!

  • @treesinsmoke sense this is free, he can take his sweet ass time for what i care

  • @bryant8133 I suggest you find a free instructional video on how to spell as well..... Ill give you ur first lesson: "Since", not "sense"

  • @treesinsmoke

    ur? Nice spelling.

  • @freezinghotter O please, are you suggesting that I don't know how to spell "your"? Now according to bryant8133 :That hardly makes any "since"...

  • @treesinsmoke Treesinsmoke.....some of us who do not grasp the concept of resonance structures need the extended lessons. Some people think in a linear pattern, some think in a vertical pattern, some are able to process information in retrograde...etc. It is aqrrogant of you to suggest that all should understand what is obviously easy to you. If I were for example, to take you as a new guitar student, and explain drop 2 type structures in minor substitutions...you would hit me in the head.

  • @rooseguitar64 Organic Chemistry is not a forthright class. It is not something that comes easy to people and requires serious concentration and deliberation in its study. I stand behind my initial comment; I think this tutorial is a good resource for learning, but the rate at which this single topic is discussed is unrealistic to learning the extent and magnitiude of knowledge required in this course. Furthermore, no, I would not hit you in the head, I've played music for 8 years and love it.

  • @treesinsmoke

Your spelling and grammar is amazing. It's just that you should check your own spelling before criticizing someone else. Not everyone can interpret text slang.

  • what if you have skeleton structure

  • No, he's a totally dysfunctional bie-sexual. ..No, no he has no boy-friend,, never did actually. i.e. TOTALLY dysfunctional. ..No,, no,, he doesn't realize it. ...No, not consciously.

  • I guess that's why it takes two semesters to teach this..?? Dude, do you realize tht you took until 3:20 to say ANYthing about ur topic, and then when you posited the question: "What does Resonance mean." you did NOT answer it. "Resonance" is the back and forth rhythmical flow of a body of energy between two "containers," ...is it Not..??? ..Starting from THERE, then giving mention to what Lewis Structures ARE, you could go into your lecture. ..Which was just as terrible at every turn.

  • Thank you sooooo much! You're amazing!! <3 <3 <3

  • This guy saved my ass for chem, I had no notes or textbook. I watched his videos and did the practice exams and I got a B. THANK YOU

  • Awesome!!! Thanks for the help.

  • OMG! you should come teach at SFSU!

    ur awesome!

  • I think I love you. Very clear and precise, thanks.

  • I LOVE YOU PROFESSOR. I now officially like Organic Chemistry because of you. Thanks so much.

  • Are there any Courses on Electromagnetics on here in the same vein as this one?

  • this guy is fantastic. what a nice thing he does. he offers all of this for free (plus handouts). I plan to donate to his site when i am done. i think everyone should!

  • thank you very much

  • thank you for your videos it is helpful and gives me hope. the physics ones really helped me .

  • I already knew a lot about resonance but watched all 50 videos just to see if I missed anything...If you just need to brush up on your skills then I suggest starting on video 40 because that is when he introduces the method for drawing resonance that creates the most mistakes.

  • Why does it take two dots from the oxygen to complete the double bond between the C and O? There is already 1 bond between them????????

  • @reganam69

because a bond is always made up of 2 electrons... so a dubble bond has 4 electrons... he needed another 2 electrons from the O to ad to the 2 electrons of the single bond in order to get a dubble bond!

  • @TheNinerion Thanks man.

  • @reganam69 because each bond is equal to two electrons.

  • go to 3:15 to skip the intro

  • I love organic chemistry....because of you. Thank you very much. You are awesome

  • My teacher is one the best science teacher is usa and he uesd to teach in Washu Med school. yet this guy is very owsome

  • This guy is awesome!

  • thank u so much

  • tat was amazing...thnx a lot!!

  • ahhh thank you so much! ap chem is... kind of kicking me in the butt.

  • i've been having so much trouble in ochem. my final is in 2 days. if only i found these videos earlier! nonetheless your lectures are so helpful!

  • omg!! i know how you feel!

  • =D i passed the class! thanks so much!

  • I love organic chemistry....

  • 50 videos, about 10 minutes each = ~8.33hrs lecturing = 8.33hrs of generous giving to lost students

  • He's done way more than that; on his page he has uploaded 1335 videos @ 10min. a piece = 222.5 hours!

As an engineering student all of this material is truly a gift.

Absolutely incredible. Will contribute when I finally get some denarii.

  • simply amazing. all of your videos explain these concepts so simply. THANK YOU!

  • brilliant!!

  • amazing lecture

  • hey im from sri lanka and this lesson is simply awesome i understand better than in school.thanks professor hope the upcoming parts will help me too.thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NJSRULZ: Your English is great, better than most from India/Ceylon. You're obviously getting a good education.

    Thanks!

  • You should teach at my uni, Professor

    XD

  • thank you so much professor.

  • You're SUCH an amazing teacher! I'm studying for my Org test on Tuesday. It's on substitution and elimination reactions, but you're right, I never grasped resonance properly.

    Thanks so much! :)

  • this guy is a wonderful teacher!

  • sir , i'd like 2 thank u very much about this useful info

  • you just saved my organic chemistry grade.

  • this is great and informative... college students dream.

  • you are awesome

    thank you
