I have heard ministers who preach so hard they are spitting because they are preaching God's word so hard at a revival, I've sat in church with my hands in my lap like I was told, and I've seen first hand what most conservative churches do. Perry makes if VERY CLEAR that following Christ is hard, and we fall or fail....
...But you want to know the difference between NS and a traditional church?
1. More people listen to the songs because they aren't the standard hymns; instead it is music that helps you focus on Christ and the sermon.
2. NS not only focuses on the wise and elder, but look around and you will see a church with a future because the young people are alive with God. Not sleeping in the back pews.
3. No matter who you are, no matter what your life holds or held, NewSpring's people only care ..
..about your salvation through Christ. No one judges my past, my tattoos, or that I have made NUMEROUS mistakes. They just want me to move forward with Christ.
4. I have read the Bible 3 times through, taken evangelism courses in deep study of the Bible, and I know how to determine if someone is using the scripture
5. Here's a big shocker...the KJV is NOT the original Bible translated with the same words. And God doesn't say "USE ONLY THE KJV". He says, read my word and understand my ways....

All these newspring members coming to defend Perry worries me that its about the pastor at this church and not Christ. Matt. 10:34 Jesus didn't come to bring peace but a sword..... My friend, you have never been to NewSpring. It is a sin in front of God to speak ill words of a sister church/ organization that is trying their best to spread God's word. What you said about showing love to the community and the world, that is all NewSpring is about. Breaks my heart that another church would talk so degrading towards another. . If God is saving people at Newspring, what does it matter? You can go to a football game and cheer and carry on, but you can't do that for your Lord and Saviour? Theres no problem with having fun at Church while worshiping Jesus! I went to NewSpring today for the first time and loved it.different yes but that is what kept my attention.i was raised in a small chruch community but that is no reason to spout off about stuff you dont understand.i will be going back to NewSpring! the big picture is what is important.In my opinion Pastor Perry is trying his very best to adhere to the younger crowd.which i think is the best way to go.nothing said in this video is correct except the 8000 members.I feel for this pastors members!
I was saved at newspring, I do not know what this guy is talking about. I love newspring, it is the best church I have ever been to. Perry is wonderful and I have never heard him say JC.
Over 20,000 people have been saved at Newspring, me being one of them. This man, who identifies himself as a pastor, calls a less conservative community radical. Catholics saw protestants as radical, yet you're a protestant pastor? That is quite hypocritical, coming from me, a fellow protestant. Perry has saved me, 8 family members, and numerous friends. Yet you call his works nearly unfruitful while he saves more people per week than however many attend yours. Get your facts straight.

200 years ago The Gospel did not have to compete with a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry and a population full of people with adhd. We, as Christians, have to crank up the volume of our message because the roar of the dragon(Satan) is deafening. I truly feel for Pastor Anderson's frustration. In your video, I do not see the members of your congregation to know how many "followers" you have. 2.I also believe that if I had attended your church and heard your message when I was younger in my teen years over 30 years ago, I would have asked, "how hypocritical is this?

He gets his point across and does not dance around the Word of God or His Laws. The music is powerful and will bring you to tears. This is a great church. People are baptized and give their lives over to God every week. I, also, have never experienced church in this magnitude of worshiping the Lord.

The Church has to be different to reach the people who no longer feel accepted in churches that only criticize difference, much like yours. Well, here is my question, how many salvations are there in this church every sunday? What is the Church called to do? Is it to reach those who do not know him? I have a problem with some of the music used by new spring. AC DC music does not belong in worship. As far as Perry Boble I love his preaching . The teaching Pastor Clayton King also preaches at Liberty University. Stop being a hater.

If the KJV is the only bible that you believe is "God's Word" then how are the people in Ethiopia or Communist China gonna get to know God? They don't speak English, ya know. Guess they are going to hell. I use the ESV, as my pastor does. It is faithful to the word and legitimate. It isn't a phrase-by-phrase translation like the NIV, it is a WORD-BY-WORD translation from the original text.
I had NEVER heard of a church called Newspring until today watching Pastor Anderson's video. Wow. This guy makes me want to run as far away from God as possible if he's claiming to be a man of God... I'm a former Newspring member - I no longer live in the area - and NS saw more souls saved in one service on any given Sunday than this man has probably ever had attend his "church" or cult (whichever term you prefer). I attend church to be taught and uplifted with the word of God. What is the purpose of this "sermon"? This is more like the "Christian" version of mean girls; "lets talk about and put down anyone whom we disagree with or doesn't do things our way." Sad
I checked out the website. I have no problem with their doctrine or the secular music. Their emphasis on "giving" is a little heavy handed, though. I never knew a church who had "finance counselors" for their members, and who actively promote stock transfers to their own brokerage account. Does the money go to help the poor and disadvantaged, like Jesus would want, or to merely convert new members to contribute to the Newspring till?

how many different congregations existed in Rome in the first century? If I can say this respectively, how many white evangelical christian churches existed there? Meaning, there where probably several different kinds of churches based on cultural origins/preferences all pointing to Jesus. Paul saluted many believers, not just Jerry Falwells or John Hagees brand of Christianity. But this guy on this video has anointed his brand of Christianity synonymous with that of Paul's. Read 1st Co 9:19-23.
He preaches about the deceit that only those whom have done the homework can understand. Not a feeling, do the homework. You will come full circle to Christ.

He's ripping on the name of the church, the theme of the church, that the pastor doesn't like to be called pastor, not one complaint has any redeeming value to it. People making the hand symbol isn't satanic. I'm doing it now and I worship God and not the devil, there is nothing inherently evil about that, if they did it then they redeemed it for God.
@VolTimeHigh everyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows what the symbol means at a rock concert. It is a bold faced salute to Satan & most rock bands make sure that the People know it. And Most people that engage in it know what it's for. So It's pretty reasonable to assume that if you have silhouettes on the walls mimicking a rock concert the People casting the sign are saluting Satan. Ask any kid that has ever went to a metal concert. They will tell You.

Church is the house of God, a Holy place that the Bible says is a "House of Prayer." It's not for entertainment, it's not for you. It's a place to worship Jesus Christ, the one who gave everything on the cross to pay for our sins. If you draw people in with secular things, you will need to keep them with secular things. 2 Tim 4 says that we're to preach the word, not our opinions or myths or running church like a circus. Preach the word, let God do the rest.
For the record..Pastor P does church differently on purpose. If we did it like every other church, thousands of people would not have come to Christ. So as a pastor, instead of preach the Gospel of the Lord, I should take 10 minutes to ramble about a church that I have obviously not educated myself about, that they'll never even go to anyway? Then I should rave about how "these people" are mistreating the house of God, and at the same time, slap my pulpit around and out of anger, throw my Bible down on top of it? Then I'll immitate a pastor playing DDR, and say how disrespectful it is for a pastor to play DDR in front of the church......
I agree if the point that this minister is trying to make is that church services should not be conducted with rock and roll music. Religious organizations shouldn't be operated like big parties thrown by God. I wish, however, that he had not of used the word liberal. This church is apart of the charismatic Christian movement. If I were the minister of a church. I would encourage my members to mantain affiliation with secular sectors. I would however also maintain seperation of church and state.
@ramchamp181 it's a 10 min. clip from a sermon... There's another 50 mins you didn't see. Besides, you don't have to preach the Gospel every service. The church is for belivers, not the lost. Pastor Anderson Goes out 5 times a week soulwinning, he has preached the gospel to over 3 million people, he wins more people to the Lord a week than most pastors will in a year.
@preacherpresident Believers need the gospel just as much as unbelievers. 1 Corinthians 15:1 which says "Now I would remind you brothers of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you - unless you believed in vain."
The gospel is not just something that we believed in the past, but it's something that we need to continually believe and be reminded of, since we are being saved by it.

This guys needs to figure out what he stands for, instead of only preaching about what he's against. 200 years ago The Gospel did not have to compete with a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry and a population full of people with adhd. In order to worship, you don't have to be singing religious music, not everyone worships in the same way. Bringing people to Christ is amazing. I have a problem with some of the music used by new spring. AC DC music does not belong in worship. As far as Perry Boble I love his preaching . The teaching Pastor Clayton King also preaches at Liberty University. Stop being a hater.

If the KJV is the only bible that you believe is "God's Word" then how are the people in Ethiopia or Communist China gonna get to know God? They don't speak English, ya know. Guess they are going to hell. I use the ESV, as my pastor does. It is faithful to the word and legitimate. It isn't a phrase-by-phrase translation like the NIV, it is a WORD-BY-WORD translation from the original text.

I had NEVER heard of a church called Newspring until today watching Pastor Anderson's video. I think Pastor Anderson himself in a attempt to "put down" this church shows how successfull it truly is "Thousands of people" he says are there at this church listening, watching well PRAISE GOD that this church Newspring reaches out in whatever means..using today tool's to bring the young & old to the Bible,to the Lord. I don't know much about Newspring. They may be great or terrible. But this guy is wasting his time trying to preach some kind of hybrid law based religiousness that is irrelevant to the gospel. I'd like to know exactly what was preached at Newspring after what he described that he disagrees with. Not that he thinks it's a sin to sing Bon Jovi or have guitars on the wall. That's pointless and missing the beauty of grace.

Wow. This guy makes me want to run as far away from God as possible if he's claiming to be a man of God... I'm a former Newspring member - I no longer live in the area - and NS saw more souls saved in one service on any given Sunday than this man has probably ever had attend his "church" or cult (whichever term you prefer). If this man is a Christian, it's no wonder there are atheists in this world.

I checked out the website. I have no problem with their doctrine or the secular music. Their emphasis on "giving" is a little heavy handed, though. I never knew a church who had "finance counselors" for their members, and who actively promote stock transfers to their own brokerage account. Does the money go to help the poor and disadvantaged, like Jesus would want, or to merely convert new members to contribute to the Newspring till?
Sorry, but all churches need to be scrutinized, esp new ones

how many different congregations existed in Rome in the first century? If I can say this respectively, how many white evangelical christian churches existed there? Meaning, there where probably several different kinds of churches based on cultural origins/preferences all pointing to Jesus. Paul saluted many believers, not just Jerry Falwells or John Hagees brand of Christianity. But this guy on this video has anointed his brand of Christianity synonymous with that of Paul's. Read 1st Co 9:19-23.

I don't like Newspring and I'm not some conservative traditional Christian. I infact grew up in a Lutheran church and hated it. The church I go to now is contemporary and does not play secular music the way Newspring does. I don't like this guy either because he just annoyed the piss out of me and what he said. Instead of him ranting about Newspring he should instead be spreading the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ. So Ill do it for him. Jesus wants to love and have a relationship with you.

This "Secular" music isn't just any song. It's songs that go along with the themes that we are talking about one that particular day. For example, while doing the Revelation series, the band sang "Rolling in the Deap" by Adele. If you take the words out of context, they make since to the lesson. Think of it as the wrath of God. Also, "The scars of your love, they leave me breathless." I understand NewSpring isn't for everybody. If you don't like it, don't come. It dosen't make it wrong.

He's ripping on the name of the church, the theme of the church, that the pastor doesn't like to be called pastor, not one complaint has any redeeming value to it. People making the hand symbol isn't satanic. I'm doing it now and I worship God and not the devil, there is nothing inherently evil about that, if they did it then they redeemed it for God.

And Most people that engage in it know what it's for. So It's pretty reasonable to assume that if you have silhouettes on the walls mimicking a rock concert the People casting the sign are saluting Satan. Church is the house of God, a Holy place that the Bible says is a "House of Prayer." It's not for entertainment, it's not for you. It's a place to worship Jesus Christ, the one who gave everything on the cross to pay for our sins. If you draw people in with secular things, you will need to keep them with secular things. 2 Tim 4 says that we're to preach the word, not our opinions or myths or running church like a circus. Preach the word, let God do the rest.

I agree if the point that this minister is trying to make is that church services should not be conducted with rock and roll music. Religious organizations shouldn't be operated like big parties thrown by God. I wish, however, that he had not of used the word liberal. This church is apart of the charismatic Christian movement. If I were the minister of a church. I would encourage my members to mantain affiliation with secular sectors. I would however also maintain seperation of church and state.

Pastor Anderson Goes out 5 times a week soulwinning, he has preached the gospel to over 3 million people, he wins more people to the Lord a week than most pastors will in a year.

@preacherpresident Believers need the gospel just as much as unbelievers. 1 Corinthians 15:1 which says "Now I would remind you brothers of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you - unless you believed in vain."
The gospel is not just something that we believed in the past, but it's something that we need to continually believe and be reminded of, since we are being saved by it.

I actually just visited Newspring this week with a group from my church... absolutely incredible.. and it's not incredible because of the lights or sounds its incredible because of the undeniable Spirit of God moving amongst His people. They spoke truth 100% rooted in the only guaranteed truth we have, the Word of God. if you truly believe in Jesus Christ our "Lord and Savior" you should talk more about Him and His glory and less about your jealousy/anger
