Wonder if you could have killed Borongo if you didn't use the ribbon since it was a side quest. Not that you'd want to do that to your little kitty. Oh and it ain't just Hillbillies who would do something like this. Plenty of "civilized folk" who'd do the same thing. ;)
@lecmg I am pretty you should have the ribbon. It is one of the items you have in your inventory after you are freed from being a slave. If you don't have it I think you'd can finish the battle against Borongo. If for some reason it is in the vault I would go and get it.
I kept attacking him and got three citical hits on him and he wouldn't die. He kept trying to remember something and it donned on me and that is when I used the ribbon. lol

@chronolocke I believe that Borongo has infinite HP so you can't kill him.
