Actually, their is a lot in Vista, besides eye candy, and thats not in XP, and even more in Windows 7, which is awesome, I would use 7 over Vista, when it comes out, and I would use both over XP, or any Apple OS.

Vista has a lot more games and gaming capabilities than you lead on.
I get good framerates in Vista, and even better in Windows 7, and I don't have SLI or CF setups, and I can play Crysis, just fine.
I love Vista, and I am a 18 year old high school senior, and I have used Apple computers, at school, which they plan to chug next year for Vista or Windows 7.

I run an overclocked quad-and booting off raid-10 10,000s so I'm quite happy thanks. No neons either and the only thing chrome is the silver platter I'll hand a mac it's ass with.

And also before Apple made boot camp there was the Parallels program which let you run both at the same time. I prefer the Parallels app but I can see why people want boot camp. Parallels makes the computers a little slow.

well that is not entirely true. now all macs have "boot camp" which allows u to run windows and windows apps. on a mac computer. and many games are made for the mac so macs would be the better option , if u put windows on it
The actual reason macs have almost no viruses is that the programming is completely different. Its programming is almost the opposite of the viruses out there. Viruses hide in mostly .exe files. Mac cant run those (one reason why they get less viruses). Mac's data is so hard to manipulate that viruses rarely have enough power to get inside.

I'm getting a Mac because of the unique kernel it runs on. Darwin/Mach. This is based off of the BSD kernel and BSD is based of of Unix. Mach is the NeXT kernel which was known for speed and stability. Macintosh are simply higher quality. The operating system blends perfectly with the hardware, giving you the best results. All you are looking at is the price. That is the wrong thing to look at when buying a computer.

why don't they fix it BEFORE they release it? I know every OS has its flaws that never get fixed but they know they released Vista earlier than they should have. They should've forgotten Vista and just spent that time on Windows 7 and saved all of us the $300 dollars we spent on an incomplete OS that no one was ready for.

I get good framerates in Vista, and even better in Windows 7, and I don't have SLI or CF setups, and I can play Crysis, just fine.
I love Vista, and I am a 18 year old high school senior, and I have used Apple computers, at school, which they plan to chug next year for Vista or Windows 7.

i didn't spend $600 on my graphics cards, i spent $80 on both, and $10 for an sli cable, and now, i'm enjoying the full benefits of DX10. i would like to see a mac play games as hardcore as crysis, flight sim X, or any other hardcore game... ppl say, oh yea, you can just install vista, run it in a virtual pc, and then there you go, play vista stuff... GAY!!! why not just avoid all the gay software apple has to offer and go to the real hardcore OS, VISTA!!!

i wouldn't go that far. vista is bad but its reputation is worse. i have it on one of my pc s and i made it run just about as fast as xp. but i had to use third party software and i had to shut off a couple processes.

And also before Apple made boot camp there was the Parallels program which let you run both at the same time. I prefer the Parallels app but I can see why people want boot camp. Parallels makes the computers a little slow.

mac is built around a unix core which is pretty much linux, unix = linux, only difference is that linux is freeware, whereas a few versions of unix u have to buy, and on a particular version of unix, macintosh owns, so u have to pay for it

well that is not entirely true. now all macs have "boot camp" which allows u to run windows and windows apps. on a mac computer. and many games are made for the mac so macs would be the better option , if u put windows on it

The actual reason macs have almost no viruses is that the programming is completely different. Its programming is almost the opposite of the viruses out there. Viruses hide in mostly .exe files. Mac cant run those (one reason why they get less viruses). Mac's data is so hard to manipulate that viruses rarely have enough power to get inside.

I'm getting a Mac because of the unique kernel it runs on. Darwin/Mach. This is based off of the BSD kernel and BSD is based of of Unix. Mach is the NeXT kernel which was known for speed and stability. Macintosh are simply higher quality. The operating system blends perfectly with the hardware, giving you the best results. All you are looking at is the price. That is the wrong thing to look at when buying a computer.

Don't worry to much about it. OS X is the Macintosh operating system. I'm using XP right now. Windows is good. But OS X is much better. I'm saving up for a Mac right now. Look around youtube for Mac OS X. You will see some of the cool things it can do.

why don't they fix it BEFORE they release it? I know every OS has its flaws that never get fixed but they know they released Vista earlier than they should have. Apple really isn't that expensive when you don't have to pay for AntiVirus software, replacing hardware, upgrading OS prices higher than $200 and paying computer places to fix your computer when something goes wrong.
Apple gives you quality products and service for a pretty reasonable price I think.
