I used to work for an armoring company, in the service department, this is a great field to work at, I loved it, in my time there I saw a whole bunch of problems that these cars have due to the weight added by the armor, most of the problems are caused to the suspenssion and drivetrain, most of the trucks were Suburbans, Yukons, Escalades, and Navigators, these mostly had suspenssion problems and a few twisted driveshafts,, we also did lots of Mercedes and BMWs, these had lots of suspenssion...

Note that when they show the weapons to which their vehicles will be proof against, that when show what they call a .308 rifle,they are showing a .50 BMG Barrett M82 anti materiel rifle!! No armoured car can be proof against a .50BMG. Also the .308 cartridge (Same as the 7.62x51) mentioned,used in say a Remington model 700 sniper rifle is just a longer cartridge with more powder than the 7.62x39 of the AK 47,this makes it a slightly more powerful round,same calibre though.
