The best infielder (fielder or both) cannot be a fad pick. It is all about consistancy, longevity being a winner and gold gloves, period. There are many good players, but the best are future HOFers. Reyes, Wright, H. Ramirez, are all flash picks. They are too inconsistant. No room for potential. Show me 10-12 years of being the best at your spot or in the top 3.

A-ROD a top 5 infielder????? This is a joke. He might be outstanding hitter but his defense is well below average, he has no range, he tends to fail routine plays.
Jeter?? Good, but not that great. He is more an icon than a defensive player. Any venezuelan shortstop outclass him in defensive duties. Vizquel, Alex Gonzalez are the best shortstops i have ever seen. Gonzalez might have great amount of errors every year, but that is because of his range, he always tries to make impossible outs.

Man what a sucky list. Im from venezuela and i admired Cabrera very much but he isnt exactly top 5 material in a defensive list, yeah he has a great arm and has improve very much but infante or prado can play better third than he (and long list of other players can to). Dont even goint to say a thing about de shortstop, only two things... Andrus and vizquel. really hope your only talking about active players if your not, God forgive you.
