Here's all the comparison you need: Apple makes an iPad, HP doesn't make a Touchpad anymore. Are you a SUCKER who bought a Touchpad or a XOOM? ROFLMAO!!!
This review is officially obsolete. Sorry man, the 3.0.2 update is out and makes it faster! Also, you can overclock it to 1.75 GHZ(somebody said 1.9GHZ) . The TP is going to get faster and faster with OTAs and overclocking. I have a feeling that the TP2 will be quad core. We will see though.
I have an iPad 2 and Touchpad, both configured to pull Exchange 2010 mail over ActiveSync. My mailbox and calendar are both considerably large and I have hundreds of business contacts. It's not even close: there is a lag of several seconds launching these on the TouchPad while the iPad is near instantaneous. I'll have to video it. I tried more comparisons but realized that outside of the web browser, there aren't any business apps on the TouchPad worth benchmarking...
why not just leave all the apps open on both...why would that be unfair...that would be more of a real world example of how they perform, since nobody really closes the apps...they just leave them running...
@SuperMachead1 I may do another video in comparison to multi-tasking without closing the apps but I already know it strongly favors the HP Touchpad. I had the iPad2 for 2 months and the browser would freeze if I had too many apps open and it get's very laggy with about 15 apps open. The Touchpad sometimes can handle 20 to 30 applications, and opens them within a second once their fully opened.
@loudimpact probably due to the fact the Ipad only has 512mb of ram...they really should have put 1gb...even though the apps are frozen in the background they are still taking up space in the ram...once the ram runs out, things start to lag...
@SickoZone I know. Homebrew will most likely have an OC Kernel in the top end range of 1.8ghz. OTA 3.0.2 should clean up allot of messy code for a quicker UI experience.
finally, someone who shows the real power of the touchpad. I got mine on launch date, and i cant get the damn thing out of my hands! Its so addicting!
So how can I get the Apple OS onto my touchpad? ;)

A lot more going on under the hood on the TP. That's obvious.

What about using the apps, instead of merely opening them. I can say for sure that the Photo & Videos app on the Touchpad is painfully laggy!
