Haha. agreed and well said. I just heard this song on the radio and thought "why did I dislike this so much...it sounds good, then I cam in and watched the video and almost instantly disliked it..thanks to their spastic artsy movements.
I had trouble getting past the actual band to like the music..kind of sad
It's a great song, so desperate, so metaphorical, dark and beautiful. Many of us know what he feels. Thanks for posting the lyrics. I had always thought it was "wheel silver", the wheel that goes round and round, trapping us in our ways, thoughts and habits, unable to break free. I always found the song somewhat disturbing, yet I could associate with it. And heck, David is so totally gorgeous in it (someone had to say it!). Many mixed emotions. Pure art.
The 90s were so depressing. Why is music so shitty now? Because there was a whole generation of depressed parents that did a shitty job of raising there kids
my very first concert!!! it was so so so fun...i was 15 , pushed my way to the front and had a blast!!! totally set the tone for future concerts - how can u not make it to the front?
@destinysrevolution IT'S ALL SO FUCKING COMMERCIAL!!! WRITE FOR YOURSELF AND THE PEOPLE WILL COME!!! They do for sarah mclachlan and celine dion AND shania twain.
I agree! Their music helps to bring me out of whatever caused me to have a bad mood to begin with. It's got power, great lyrics & most of all, their songs were just plain awesome & a real thrill to listen to!
Mid 90's was the best era for Canadian alternative rock, and really all music genre's in general. Amazing how music since the dot com boom was taken a hit :P
LOL, weird.. the cig in the video didn't ever seem weird to me... BUT it just blew my 8yr old's mind.. "DAD... why would a singer be smoking?..kinda stupid eh!" haha.
funny part is... it was alot easier to explain that, than the lyrics and video theme! :p
finally i found this song.. oi have been looking this since... well i can't remember maybe from the day napster rules internet for sharing mp3. i can't find this song because i don't know who sing it and the tittle, all i know only the verse " weee areee sillverrr. and i put we silver in youtube search box.... and BAAMMM the fisrt thing come up this vid. thanks for upload this vid
Every day one of the old bands from my past comes back to haunt me. Yesterday the Watchmen, today Moist. 103.7 The River, that's what I grew up on, and Much Music back when it played more music. The 90s was such an awesome Canadian movement with Matthew Good Band, Our Lady Peace. Too bad the momentum didn't keep up. The River was replaced by a country station in my area (NY) and Much went to hell. I lost all of this music until now.
Man they don't make music like this anymore, Moist was a kick ass band whos songs had lyrical value to it. When I hear their songs it instantly puts me in a good mood when I had a shitty day.
saw these guys live at a really small club in buffalo NY. Chilled out with them after the show, really cool, down to earth guys. Wish they had come around more.
you kno0w, if music was still like this today, i wouldnt have anything to complain about, i susally lsiten to metal, but i can lsiten to moist ALL DAY EVERYDAY
first heard this song when it came out...I was a 14 year old German, visiting my parent's friends in Ottawa...loved it right away...and never forgot it...great!
Am I the only one who thinks that the chick with the shaved head is beautiful? If it probably wouldnt affect my ability to get a job as a woman, I'd want to do that myself.
I dont think i'd want to lie and say i have cancer, hahaha.
@Kalimata101 I didn't know Stars are Canadian. I just discovered them recently from an internet friend. I love discovering these new sounds, which are not mainstream. Anyway thanks for posting these MOIST Videos.
@Dexxxtroyer For true. The indy music scene is where it's at. In Montreal at least, the scene has gotten past the whole "indy for the sake of being indy" and are producing some just beautiful music. Metric are a fantastic band, check them out. I just discovered Chromeo for myself, check them out! Owen Pallet/Final Fantasy, a little eclectic for some, but I love his stuff. PM me if you'd like some more suggestions, I have plenty!
Don't worry guys, the music is still around. Just dig it up, burn it and play it for your friends. Its up to you guys to reject the shit they make nowadays and spread the good music from the 90's.
I totally agree with you, its like you have to search up the old good stuff just to find good music you know, the people of today have no idea what good music is.
yeah, no shit. well i look at it like this. i am 32, live near toronto buffalo area and listened to all this kind of music in the 90's. i play drums in a band and this music is a big influence on the music i write to this day. i realy do not care for the new music these days. i guess i am old school. but the 90's were great times for alternative rock.
yeah i'm old school myself it just seems that once the 90's got done with, it all went downhill after that with all these pussy pop rock bands, like silverchair for example they were so cool and hardcore back then, now daniel johns looks and sound faggish and the sound is like totally different. affer their album freakshow, it went down the shitter and it slowly but surely turned into that teeny bopper pop rock crap.
I LOVE MOIST, it too bad they didn't continue with music, three albums is such a tease! David Ushers stuff is still good but not as rocking! The video for Ressurection is my favourite! Music videos just ain't what they used to be!
The spirit of the 90's is alive in portland.
