hd camcorders are hopeless, how do you store footage, when you transfer to dvd quality is not hd but standard quality.

I bought a high end model panasonic hd with hard drive, image quality no better than my old sony tvr dv camcorder, which is easy to edit then burn to dvd, and of course all original footage is still on the tape.

HD camcorders are only good if you are a computer buff good at editing and can burn to blue ray disc, also they are rubbish at panning fast moving subject.

Have we accidentally removed important files? How to fix this problem?

We are currently unable to view my videos on MS and Apple computers (as we still do with other cameras). We are receiving MS error messages that the necessary codec was not 'downloaded automatically since the download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box.' (We don't know what that means).

We use internal memory (not external cards).

Dude, get a Kodak z1275 camera. I costs only $169 and shoots 720p HD. Also the camera is 12mp and 3200 iso.

To edit use Ulead 11, I could not get Sony Vegas to work.
