  • Flirting, Holmes style.

  • So if two men have a close friendship and a bond similar to that which brothers have for one another they are assumed to be gay? Uh, alrighty then.... SMH

  • why are people arguing so much about them being gay?! So WHAT if people see it that way? I can't blame them for it...it's basically about two people being co-dependent; and the whole film ALMOST stems on Holmes's jealousy of Watson's attention to Mary. Despite Watson being engaged it's important to recognize that he too, cannot seem to say no to Holmes; that he doesn't truly want to leave being friends with him. If people just see it as friendship; then fine; move on. People differ in opinions.

  • @BetaArtemis . . . ? All I said was that siblings do the same thing and thus it's not evidence of them being gay. Any comments directed to darychii were only to him/her and not to those who support them being gay.

  • I love that joke, it should certanly be repaeted in film 3 (if theres gonaa be one(I hope soooooo(L)))

  • that was weird yet a little bit funny :0)

  • best ever !!! :D

  • "It's not in your face, it's in my hand."

"Get what's in your hand out of my face."

love Holmes' hilarious reasoning and Watson's hilarious comebacks XD

  • absolutely LOVE IT !!! :D

  • they should make a meme of this

  • gosh this scene is hilarious they pull that same stunt in holmes 2! I once saw an interview where jude said he missed downey how awesome is that

  • Well, hello there my new ringtone.

  • I love JUDE LAW! This is so great.

  • not the way I would say it, but close enough :P

  • "Crockey!"

  • if someone says they're flirting with each other, i'm going to cry.

have you never seen siblings do this before? because that's pretty much the type of bond Holmes and Watson have going on here.

  • @leBabamou I KNOW! That grates on my nerves. They're playfully mean with each other - like best friends or siblings. That kind of behavior doesn't mean you're in love.

  • @AllendraXRai Something like that really shouldn't upset you people. It's just opinion. Those who like them as brothers are allowed to like them as brothers and those who like them as a pairing are allowed to, as well. People aren't going around forcing their beliefs down your throat and MAKING you agree with them. They're just stating how they see it. It's not like they're hurting you or anything. Let those people enjoy it how they want to and you can enjoy it in your own way.

  • @darkychii Why does it upset you that I said I don't support it?

  • @AllendraXRai I wasn't upset that you didn't support it. I respect your opinion and the opinions of those around me. I was simply perplexed by you getting offended by the fact that some people /do/ support it.

  • @darkychii I just find it ridiculous when people try to pretend something is canon when it's not. Or take a scene like this one as evidence for flirting when best friends and siblings act that way all the time.

  • @AllendraXRai So, people aren't allowed to like couples that aren't canon? They aren't allowed to go around and be creative with things?

And again, a scene like this can be taken either way. It just depends on how you see it. And you shouldn't be hating on people just because they see it differently than you. It's their opinion and they should be allowed to express it. You're allowed to see it how you want and they're allowed to see it how they want. They aren't causing you harm.

  • @darkychii I never said you can't like couples that aren't canon. Nor am I "hating on" people who do. I just agreed with someone who left a comment that shared my view. If I really was "hating on" these people, I'd leave comments challenging what they said . . . much like you did.

On the contrary, I support my own non-canon couples for different fandoms. But I'll be the first to say they aren't canon. I've just seen one too many SH fans baselesdly insist their relationship is canon.

  • @AllendraXRai Very well. The way you phrased it seemed a bit rude to me. That's all.

    Okay, good to know.

And sometimes people insist a pairing they love is canon just because they love it so much. The fact that they are such a huge fan of the pairing makes it canon to THEM.

  • @darkychii And I can relate to that, particularly as a writer. However, it's obviously not canon and when those who support them being gay try to convince everyone else that that's right . . . it's annoying.

  • @AllendraXRai Yes, I understand. I write, as well.

Well, people here aren't trying to convince others that they are right.. they're just stating what they think and giving some evidence to support themselves.

  • @darkychii Not some of the ones I've seen - but of course, part =/= whole.

But then, what was your motivation in replying to me? I was just complaining with someone else that shared my views. If I had posted a singular comment I can see that, but aren't you doing the exact same thing you were telling me not to?

Complaining about me stating what I think and giving some evidence to support myself? Can't I express my opinion? I wasn't causing you harm. Aren't you hating on me?

  • @AllendraXRai Yes, but you have no right to actually /be/ complaining. People aren't going like, "Hey! You have to support this pairing because I do!" They're just saying that they DO support it.

And you can express your opinion, but it seemed rather rude the way you expressed it. Sorry. That is all. I figure we should stop arguing and spamming up the comments. Adieu!

  • @darkychii But if the people who support them being gay have the right, according to you, to voice their opinions, why don't I have the right, according to you, to also express mine?

  • @AllendraXRai There is expressing opinions and there is telling other people how to view and interpret stories and being rude about it. People are gonna believe what they want, and you can believe what you want too and express that, but don't tell others how they should believe as if your opinion is the only one that is right and correct. Last time I checked, Arthur Conan Doyle did not write an explicit statement saying they are not gay nor has he said they are so both views are valid.

  • @BetaArtemis It's never my intention to ever be rude on anything I say. I'm a huge supporter of being able to state your opinions without crossing over into being confrontational. So when someone accuses me of being "rude", I take that very seriously.

Please explain then how you think I was being rude.

  • @AllendraXRai If you want an explanation, then the way your tone is in your comment is how it is rude in how I see it, because you keep stating others' views as annoying or just because others see it as canon and you don't and you make as if they are wrong and you are the right one. It simply makes those who disagree with you feel bad as if you are the superior one. This is how it came across to me.

  • @AllendraXRai If you did not intent to sound that way, then that's fine, but I am simply saying that is how your comments can come across and it rubs people the wrong way as if somehow indicating that their disagreements to your opinions are somehow invalid or inferior. Just pointing this out.

  • That's what she said.

  • well... I guess 0 people didn't get..... wait, 0 people? O_O

  • QU0SEeQJy0c?t=2m9s

  • @DuncanMcNeil ???

  • Is Downey Junior british, i know i could look it up on Wikipedia, just dont feel like it though... ;D

  • @Mutedmouth no he is an american xx

  • I love the way they used the EXACT same kinds on the second movie but reversed :,)

  • I love how they reused it in Game of Shadows :D

  • I just saw Sherlock Holmes 2 and I LOVED it. It makes me want to watch the first one again.

  • Lol

  • haha classic line

  • love this lol :P

  • And how old are they?

  • IN SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 ITS THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

  • @mniyad actually, they dont even say it in the film

  • @meganerd14 Yh, i watched it a few weeks ago and only a little while after watching it i realised they didn't even say it (i had thought that i must have not been paying attention). In the trailer they do, but why would they cut it out?

  • @mniyad The usual, "not enough time" BS

  • @meganerd14 Something like that shouldn't be cut out (unless it's extended edition which i doubt) and it's only like 2 seconds.

  • They do that in the second one, just the other way round!

  • The dialogue in this movie was so good lol

  • GOSH I NEED TO BUY THIS MOVIE! TODAY!!!!!

  • I wish youtube had an auto reply movie button :(

  • I like this but it is still not as good as the BBC series

  • I love how they use the same line in the sequel, only reversed.

  • @ZukoHalliwell yeah brilliant.

  • @ZukoHalliwell They actually never used that line in the sequel, it was only in the trailer.

Which I'm sort of glad for, it distracted me and didn't come off nearly as natural in that trailer.

  • @HarpoTheVillain No offense, but I posted that comment months before the movie actually came out. I had no way of knowing that they wouldn't use the line in the actual movie.

  • @ZukoHalliwell Hey, how could you know they'd remove it? =P It's pretty stupid that they DID include it in the trailer but not the movie. No offense taken at all, it's weird they even falsely announced the line like they did anyway.

  • @ZukoHalliwell do they? I don't remember it being the 2nd film, ohwell xx

  • people they are making sherlock holmes 2 !theres olreadie a trailer o youtube! thumps up so people can see!

  • This is exactly the type of exchange mybest friend and I have on a regular basis.

  • Lmao haha I love this part haha

  • I miss this movie SO

    much..why did my mum have

     to cancel HBO??

  • I'd love to see this scene recreated in the BBC adaptation of 'Sherlock' by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman! :D

  • Lol, they're such children

  • The picking of the nails meaning the insecurity of being alone with his sweetheart, the enveloping of a slight insult to cover up the indication of flirting, the crossing of both legs showing calmness yet gentle defensivness, avoidance of eye contact from Watson, yet full eye contact from Holmes, slight frown of playfulness, both having their jackets off and sleeves rolled up showing that they feel comfortable together, raising of eyebrows of suggestion.

    Yup. They fancy eachother.

  • @tomatoesonstrings It's a bromance, MAYBE. That's all, good god.

  • @tomatoesonstrings Jesus Christ, fucking fangirls.

  • @tomatoesonstrings Excellent!

  • @tomatoesonstrings Are you by any chance a psychiatrist?

  • @tomatoesonstrings Holy shit. You're the Gay sherlock. No offense.

  • @tomatoesonstrings Are you Sherlock Holmes's kid?

  • @tomatoesonstrings no shit, Sherlock

  • Jude law so hot rdj even hotter great pair

  • Can watch this *forever*

  • The great thing about the Holmes/Watson relationship is that they are equally believable as best friends, brothers or lovers.

  • Crockey!

  • HAHA love this scene! I have actually used this quote and it never fails to make me laugh xD

RDJ was the best possible choice for Sherlock Holmes...he can pull off those hilarious one liners so well <3

  • I've been sticking things in my brothers face hoping I can get them to say "Get that out of my face" so that I can reply with "It's not in your hand, it's in my face."

No success so far. I must keep trying!

  • @QuothTheRaven24 Strike that...reverse it. XD

"I want to reply with it's not in your face it's in my hand."

  • such flirt

  • Lol... this is a brilliant scene because this can be 2 comedic things at once. It can be very dirty... and it can just simply be funny.

  • you know this could be construed so wrongly if it was sound only.

  • 'Get that out of my face.'

'It's not in your face, it's in my hand.'

I'm going to have to remember that one in the future :P

  • i love this szene :D

Oh, and the one who's entering is named Clarky, i think^^

  • XD My fav! part in the whole movie!!

  • oh i see

  • "Get that out of my face."

"It's not in your face, it's in my hand."

"Get whats in your HAND out of my FACE."

    Door opens

    Sherlock: "Crockey!"

ha i remember thinking that was brilliant. Really want to see this movie again!!!!

  • @gotGodandHislove It's not Crockey but Clarkie

  • @gotGodandHislove its Clarkie acually
