  • ελλαδα!!!!!!

  • good luck on the project though you probably wont need it =)

  • Also Spartans didnt compete at Olympic Athletes because rules didnt let anyone to take out enemies eyes and also rules didnt let anyone to bite eatch other till meat and blood comes out (at pankration)... And last, Spartans may not won they war but they gave to Greece the courage to battle after! Without that who knows... we may was all speaking persian now!!!

  • @Senzin23 Yeah, We may have been speaking Persian, But then Alexander the Great came along and whooped Greece AND Persia.

  • @RandomBoxTV Alexander was a greek -.-

  • did you actually turn that in?!

  • Actually the movie is surprisingly accurate to the actual event. the Spartans lost because of the arrow rain. Considering, lets say 3, new Spartans experience, even if they haven't been in battle before, could easily slaughter 50 Persians, if not more, in close range combat (A.K.A. swords, shields, spears, that kind of stuff). So either way the Greeks won the war against the largest and most powerful army in the known world. even though the Spartans lost the battle, they won the war hands down.

  • Έτσι Γαμάει η Ελλάδα, πάρτε το απόφαση ρεε!

  • basically it is said that 10 usual soldiers equaled 1 Spartan

  • that time we was have efialti now we have papandreou.i thing is brother or something like that:)

  • i like your vid and this with trooper !!!! you diserve a like !! :P

  • Nearly everything Alejandro says is unintelligible.

  • @jklimentos93 Yet gays do suck. Literally.

  • using 300 got you a good grade

  • Im gusse you got an f

  • how can you say that the modern oppressors are like the ancient greeks, who were not oppressors but the oppressed, at that time in history,... thats just fucking ignorant of you

  • hahaha GAYREECS homo bastards .. bomb the shit out of MYKONOS GAY ILAND

  • @Timurchin1 Nice grammar bro. Who taught you?

  • @px851 fuck the gayreecs and give them a penny

  • @Timurchin1 Bro, what are you, like, seven years old? "Gayreecs"? And, you spelled ISLAND wrong. I don't think you're old enough to be on the internet.

  • @px851 im not your bro you gayreec mykonos boy

  • @Timurchin1 I'm from America. Before you say anything else to me, make sure you have your facts straight. Also, nice insults. "Gayreec." How clever, I'm sure it took you a long time to think of it. You're a little whiny fag that shouldn't be on the internet.

Don't reply, BRO. You're just embarrassing yourself.

  • @px851 we call them gayreec becuz greece is the nation which invented the homosexuality and gayness. It´s the motherland. ancient greec said "the real love is the love with a little boy".gayreec history they showed the most ugly perverted homosexual behaviour -> they even painted thiat scenes on their vases and mosaices. AND TODAY?? Look at their soldiers-> they wear tiny skirts..hahaha.

  • @Timurchin1 your such a stupid fuck man, pretty much every civilization before christianity and Islam had homosexuals because it was generally accepted in pagan culture, after christianity and islam is when people begin to call it evil and shit. you obviouslly know nothing of history , even if a greek is gay he will still beat the shit out of you

  • @jklimentos93 grrrrrrrrrrr fuck off you homo ...

  • @Timurchin1 You're just fucking jealous because your country wasn't probably known 500 years ago, i'm guessing you're a little american retard. Well, motherfucker, greeks dont fight like heroes, heroes fight like greeks. We were known throughout the world for our discoveries and how powerful our men were, now, would you please shut the fuck up? I'm proud to be greek.

  • @RagingBlast2Fan Ετσι ρε πουστη! ΠΕΣ ΤΟΥ ΤΑ!

  • Comment removed

  • @Timurchin1 It was forbidden from the olympian gods to be pedofiles because the kid wasnt fully grown and that was written on a rock plate by plato bitch! and also the real love is with a little boy is ROMAN SHIT!

  • @waroderyus whats about mykonos?

  • @Timurchin1 There are not only Greeks in Mykonos!

  • @avlopaoki oh xes my friend there is full with gayreecs fucking each other and some european gay bastards

  • @Timurchin1 Gays exist in every country not only in Greece..

  • @avlopaoki but greece is the motherland of gayness

  • @px851 I don't believe there are Americans that actually like and are inspired from Greece or atleast, ancient greece. Why, I don't see why you're supporting us...

  • @RagingBlast2Fan I'm not necessarily supporting Greece, but I have nothing against the Greeks. Seeing a seven-year-old kid insulting an entire country because of his own ignorance is a reason for me to get involved. That Timurchin1 faggot needs to pick up a book before he even THINKS about saying shit toward your country.

  • @Timurchin1 No, we don't even allow gay marriages here. By the way, why would you fucking care about someone's sex prefierences? Are you fucking retarted?

  • @Timurchin1 I guess youre from america or skopje

  • you are such an unclefucker

  • you where talking about alied force in afgan but realy that war was started by the american during the golf war and i do not consider it a good exempe during ww2 enemy set aside there diferene to fight against a invasion and became allied after is more similar to that then the afgan war

    sorry for spelling

  • Ha ha ha...I LOVE the greek's language in the subtitles....especially i love MY language....and i am proud of it....

  • @assosfix Its pretty bad ass

  • @TheLandFerry What bad ass son of a b***h.... English language is based in Greek.... And first look your fucking ass and after the other's...

  • @assosfix The english language is based on greek??? Who says that? A linguist, a scientist, a university, who? When was something like that proven? It would be one of the greatest scientific discoveries of all time.

As far as I know, english is a west german language with strong influences (in the vocabulary) from Norman.

I am curious to learn where you read such things.

  • @Lhein33 You didn't fucking existed when we were the most successful among all kinds. Shut the fuck up, you don't fucking know anything, if you knew greek...only then, you'd know why english is based on greek.

  • @RagingBlast2Fan My friend, I don't remember insulting you.

Of course I didn't exist when the Greeks were ruling the world, but I think you didn't exist either.

I admire the greek culture and I have studied some of its aspects, like the language, even if I don't consider myself an expert in it.

Anyway, I still want to know where you read that english is based on greek. I am sure that there are a lot of great linguists that know greek & english simultaneously. Has any of them said these things?

  • @Lhein33 Well, No, I don't think the whole language is taken from Greece or that it is based on Greek but there are some simularities, that's all I say, that's all I know, that's all I ever wanted to know.

  • @RagingBlast2Fan If you put the topic thus, you are right and I agree with you. English has indeed taken a lot of words (possibly hundreds) from the greek language. This is true and scientifically proven. Most scientific terms are greek and there are also a lot of words created by englishmen using greek component (eg telephone). But you should know that vocabulary isn't enough to show the origin of a language; grammar and syntax are most important regarding this matter.

  • @Lhein33 How did we get into this? Isn't this video about Spartans being gay? What do you think of that?

  • @Lhein33 English is not based on Greek it just has a lot of words borrowed from Greek. If you look it up in wiki you will see that 5% of common words used in English comes directly from Greek and 25% indirectly. So we are talking about thousands of words not just a few hundred.Certainly that does not make English a Greek derived language.

  • @Lhein33 the english language is inderectly created by the greek one

in short at 6-8 century b.c. there was a immigration of greek tribes due to an economical crisis (lol) one of them (the citizens of Chalkida) made a collony in south italy

the local people over there didnt have a alphabet so they enstablish the greek one

the latin alphabet was created from it too and after that the english was formed from the latin one

i hope my english were understoodable

  • @enchanter76 You make a serious linguistic mistake: you confuse the LANGUAGE with the ALPHABET. They are 2 completely different things.

A laguage is the system of communication (words, syntax, grammar) that men use; we have the greek, the latin, the german language.

An alphabet is the written expression of a language. Every language can be written with a lot of alphabets. I think that in Greece nowadays some people write using the latin alphabet (greeklish). They don't speak another language.

  • @Lhein33 No offense but you are thinking wrong , there isnt such think as a greeklish alphabet. Greek language has its own alphabet. It happens younger people to use latin character and this happens mainly because of font problems on pcs and mobile phones in the past. We have our own alphabet for all these years and there is no chance to change that.

  • @ykamb I didn't speak about a greeklish alphabet. I said that some Greeks write their greek language using the latin alphabet. Is this false? You have to understand that the alphabet is something different than the language.

E.g. if I write the word "mahi" (μάχη=battle) which language am I writing? English? Of course not. There is no such word in the english language. I'm writing greek language, but using the latin alphabet.

    Is this clear?

  • @Lhein33 Actually Romans made a language which is based on ancient Greek....the Latin language...later, germans, english, french and italians made their own language which is based on Latin....

  • 3:03...OMEN KID!!!!

  • Holy shit dude you failed.

  • Hell yea dude, Maiden!!!

  • up irons from SPAAARTA

  • yak yak yak yak,,,,,zzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • ohohohh friend i m from greece and i want to tell you that athenians aren t gays

  • HAHAHAHA what moron made this shit?! first of all! From where such a fascination over Spartans? They were something like nazis in in ancient Greece.

  • @Kintabl i dont belive they killed any jews....

Granted Sparta was only one of the many states in Greece, but if you talk about the battle at Thermopylae talking about the Athens dosent really work.

  • @WoolyFetish You don't get my point. Look They were military obsessed people. Second, they treated non-spartans like shit. And they think they were more than others.

  • @Kintabl Ehm... Same can be said about allmost any other state in the world. The Assyrian Empire was even worse then Sparta when it comes to those subjects. Even in Greece the Athens dident really like non-Athens that much either. Not saying any one state is better then the others, just saying that none of them was worse then the others aswell.

  • @Kintabl not quite...

  • take a barbarian to analysise greek culture and you get this :P ? stupid barbarians

  • Du bist eine Sce***e

  • what u get on the project?

  • In Reality the Persians had bit more then 250,000 maybe something like 360,000 according to Herodotus

  • ΕΛΛΑΔΑΡΑ ΡΕ ΦΙΛΕ !!!!! ΕΛΛΗΝΑΣ ΜΕΧΡΙ ΤΟ ΚΟΚΚΑΛΟ !!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Friendly from greece...Spartans had for their women enormus respecy for the reason that they bring to life their children(espessially boys).Women also had part on influensing desisions.... part of....Athenians were homosexual not as todays ''gay'' meaning. It was supposed to be like like that because women in athens democrasy had no wright exept to bring children in life.No vote, just like slaves.

  • LOL did you really do this for school? awesome!!

  • maiden !!!

  • moron the spartans would kill anyone who got out of formation so in that scene where everyone was running amok someone wouldve killed them until they got back in line

  • WTF...

  • wasnt it 300 spartens??

  • @Madluke200 yeah 300 spartans and 700 thespians...but king leonidas at one point, sent them away...

  • the spartans weren't gay the sacred band was. it had 150 gay couples. thats 300 in the sacred band of thebes. they thought if a man fights besides his lover he will fight better to defend him and the other way around. the spartans disliked them because they didnt like the couple thing. they said it was tough training that made the better soilder but in the end the sacred band defeated them in the battle of i forget

  • Iron maiden- run to the hills (:

  • @Madluke200 Actually my friend its The trooper...Not Run to the hills

  • @Estellior lol i always mix them up ;p

  • @Madluke200 hahahaha no problem pal...

  • spartans had the worst naval forces in the history of greece ! But in their "friendly" battles (battles made between greek citys) ... they literally were ustoppable

  • good basic info. Shame you didn;t mention the wooden stockade that the Spartans used, or the fact that there were only 300 Spartans there because the rest were at a religious festival. Also, CAN EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS stop calling them Greeks. Back then Greece did not exist as a nation, only seperate city states.

  • total shit

  • must've gotten an F

  • What Grade did you get. ^^

  • You do relaize that the persians had tried to flank the greek land forces by sending troops by sea and failed do to warships sent by ATHENS right

  • U ARE STUPID THE SPARTANS WERENT HOMOSEXEUL.the tactic they use is one that every modern army now uses and it was invented by greeks.they become to their comrades like brothers.i am greek.(from makedonia not from sparta but i know my nation's history)the reason why greek troops were so bonded with each other was the phalax formation.every soldier covered hiw right troop so they formed a shield wall.

  • So 300 is historicaly correct?

  • @RammliedGaming yes in a way, their was a leonidas and this was a real battle. They were very warlike and bred for dieing into battle and yeah.

  • HAHAHAHALOL! ZERXES WAS LIKE WATS UP WITH THESE GOT DAMN WALLS FUCK!!!!!!!

  • lol spartans werent gay...it was the athenians

  • @westfieldwhitey01

you never read what really is an agoge? or what happen in the barracks? O.o

for the god Apolo! they were bisexuals like the other greeks, the only no-bisexuals were the Persians.

  • @AllanGarcia88 u r wrong only doric greeks were as u call it bisexual aiolian and ionian greeks were not!!

  • @westfieldwhitey01 athenians was gay? hahahaha! how do you know this?

  • @westfieldwhitey01 No one was in greece gay... the modern people missunderstand one thing! The word "Lover" means in ancient greek something like student! Thats why achiles called patroklos lover! Cause he was his student... and the same was during the agoge! the children where lovers.. students..

  • @westfieldwhitey01 No the spartans were gay, and encouraged it to from bonds within their syssitions.

  • @westfieldwhitey01 no bro, was some spartans, they thoguht if they had to gay men in one group theyd fight harder for their man

  • @westfieldwhitey01 u're wrong. all ancient greeks had loverboys. since mycenae.

  • @drfaul I'm greek, I know everything that happened in my ancient history, AND YOU! A deepshit knows more than me about my own history? Shut the fuck up you fucking retard, you're embarrasing your Nation.

  • @RagingBlast2Fan wtf? what i ve written 438523487 years ago? i don't remember my childhood, proud geek.

  • @westfieldwhitey01 actually all of Greece was bi at that time, it was part of the culture.

  • @iaqueng Yeah! And all these Greek people fuck your grand grand grand mother

  • @westfieldwhitey01 .....Spartan soldiers were as gay as they come mate.

  • @westfieldwhitey01 Yeah right, and i'm capten america

  • @westfieldwhitey01 Nehh, maybe not as much, but Spartans definitely still embraced homosexuality. It was pretty much all of Classical and Hellenistic Greece.

  • @westfieldwhitey01 Actually you couldn't be MORE wrong. The Spartans were well known (if not even celebrated) throughout the ancient Greek world for their custom of a seasoned Spartan soldier taking a young boy as his lover and trainee. Lycurgus, founder of the Spartan military way, initiated the policy to enhance comrades-in-arms (literally!) on the battlefield by enforcing comrades-in-arms in bed!

Institutionalised homosexuality was the cornerstone of Spartan military efficacy.

  • @westfieldwhitey01 no spartans were gay they did have wives but majority of them were gay

  • oh my FUCKING god... how can you dare comparing the persian warfare with the so called "war on terror"? the only parallel is that persia had the same goal, USA has today - global dominance

  • on like spartan war the allies force in afghanistan will be defeated because they are fighting against an army which has never been defeated and men which have no fear of death . plus da americans are so ignorant

  • Fuck Persians!!!!! Spartans kick Ass!!! B

  • you are so crazy and gay dude

  • omg how can u say Spartans are Greeks haahaha they are not Greeks!

  • @Sime4e1 Sparta, though a polis / city-state itself and as such a culture in its own right; is just a small part of ancient Grecian society as a whole. The problem with ancient Greece is that you can't just pick a piece of land and say THIS IS GREECIA~! -das boot- The ancient Greeks were seafaring people who established colonies all along the Mediterranean, such as Olbia in what is now the Ukraine, Naucratis in Egypt, and Saguntum all the way in Spain.

  • @Sime4e1 Spartans are Greeks are you serious? what your saying is practically that im not Australian because im from Sydney? it doesn't make fucking sense, Spartans was a separate state but still apart of Greece in the bigger picture you illiterate dumb fuck

  • @Ilikepyro They were Greeks? Yes they were a city-state but none the less, they were Greeks.

  • @Sime4e1 i m from sparta.. fuck you mogolian

  • only chance romans ever had of taking greece was after the death of alexander other then that romans wer a bunch of pussys that wore dresses

  • men hay una serie de estos tipos de guerra, que es como histori pero hablan de guerras meidevales..

  • the idea that the persian troops were not trained is ridiculous. the greeks were a minor outpost in a huge persian empire. you don`t conquer an empire like that and hold it for hundreds of years with a bunch of peasants. The greeks showed great courage but in the history of the persian empire thermopylae and marathon were minor skirmishes in a distant outpost. at one point the persian empire covered everything from the caspian sea to the indus river in the east and greece and egypt in the west

  • If the Spartans had not have been outflanked they would have won as a phalanx with closed flanks is UNBEATABLE. Trust me hundreds of pikes and overlapping shields with thousands of professionally trained Greeks against 250,000 mostly part-trained Persians. Greeks Always win.

  • lmao everbody knows that real stories in movies are fabricated and these dudes here are taking there facts from the movie 300 and they posted out here as a real fact loooooooooooolz

    un believeable

i'm this close for - - turning to a troll

  • persia attcked greece for revenge for the battleof marathon i believe

  • cool

  • hehe greek subs :D (im greek)

  • a history lesson from a half wit great, i just watched 300 so now i'm an expert lmfao

  • A much more interesting ancient battle to report about would have been Cannae, between the Romans and the Carthaginian general Hannibal, because it involved actual tactics that are used in modern warfare today. But, I guess that would have been difficult to illustrate, because Hollywood hasn't made an idiotic movie about it.

  • YOU TAKE MY LIFE BUT ILL TAKE YOURS TOO!, you fire a musket but ill run you throught! HELL YEAH UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • nice song

  • at least you tryed.....

  • @XxEmptyAbyss87xX "Tried" is spelled with an "i". At least you tried.

  • isn't this a big gorey for school??? if i handed this in id get my ass sent down to the principles faster then the fighting started on this vid

  • Ι learned them cause they are part of my nation's history ;-)

  • PLUS THEY GET 100000000000 spartans and rape ur mum k

  • good song at the beginning

  • You two are the most ignorant people ever. The persians are not monsters, Xerxes did not want to take over the world. In fact, he was a normal highted bearded king, and he was one of the greatest kings ever to rule any empire. The Persian empire was not consisted of dark skinned mutants no, and according to Deadliest Warrior, a Persian Immortal, a highly trained assassin could fend off 2 celt warriors, twice his weight and size at once. Please learn your facts. Thank you!

  • @TardedMovies agree with you everything but the deadliest warrior comment. Show is rigged, stupid and based on nothing but weapon physics, not skill.

  • There were 1000 greeks and 300 spartans at thermopylae.

But when the persians circled around, 1000 greeks retreated while the 300 spartans stayed, to buy the other 1000 time.

  • Spartan women cut their hair short, that error ruined the film for me

  • You all learned about the Spartans from gay movies like 300, I learned about them from Rome: Total War.

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi the fuck is wrong with u u dont learn shit from the game dont get me wrong i fuckin love that game but its not really educational in any way at all

  • @colinshere01 agreed, there are numerous historical niggles in it (even though it's a fantastic game) - also, we're a few hundred years away from strong Spartan culture at the point where RTW starts, the strength of Spartan hoplites in the game is more a nod to their historical prestige than a representation of what was an ordinary Greek backwater by that point.

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi I learnt about them in history class... >_>

  • @sebob123 learned*

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi I learned about them at school..

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi OMG ur so good. Can i be your friend?... Seriously now... You don't really learn any Spartan history from Rome: Total War...

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi how is 300 gay

  • @zombie2482 For the same reason Pro Wrestling is gay. Sweaty musclemen in underwear all rubbing up against each other and getting covered in people's bodily fluids.

  • @GrovyleXShinyCelebi i learned about them because im studying politics science and readed many books about that lol sorry for my english

  • @TheAmericanFreeBird i learned about them because i studied history... NOW U ARE PWNED :P

  • @WolfHead0207 when i said "i read many books" i mean history books, indeed.....

    om not "pwned".

  • @TheAmericanFreeBird studied mean on university and i have diploma that i am HISTORIAN... LIKE I SAID PWNED! XD

  • @WolfHead0207 im studying it too, and i have been in greece. like i said before, im still NOT PWNED

  • @TheAmericanFreeBird tommorow i will go on exam for master after 5 years of history... still PWND... give up hahaha...

    don't take it too seriously

  • @WolfHead0207 for a 5 years exam it seems that you havents sudied so much, investing your time responding to a "pwned" like me on youtube...

stop "pwning" (i still dont understand what that words means) people, its just disgusting.

  • @TheAmericanFreeBird you are a great hater... and btw i am your master now... you are my padawan. PWNED

and stop being hater enjoy your life dude...

    PS

and pwned is little more than owned

  • @WolfHead0207 i just realized that i have some cookies here... you want one ?
