Friendly from greece...Spartans had for their women enormus respecy for the reason that they bring to life their children(espessially boys).Women also had part on influensing desisions.... part of....Athenians were homosexual not as todays ''gay'' meaning.It was supposed to be like like that because women in athens democrasy had no wright exept to bring children in life.No vote,just like slaves.

the spartans weren't gay the sacred band was. it had 150 gay couples. thats 300 in the sacred band of thebes. they thought if a man fights besides his lover he will fight better to defend him and the other way around. the spartans disliked them because they didnt like the couple thing. they said it was tough training that made the better soilder but in the end the sacred band defeated them in the battle of i forget

The problem with ancient Greece is that you can't just pick a piece of land and say THIS IS GREECIA~! -das boot- The ancient Greeks were seafaring people who established colonies all along the Mediterranean, such as Olbia in what is now the Ukraine, Naucratis in Egypt, and Saguntum all the way in Spain.

the idea that the persian troops were not trained is ridiculous. the greeks were a minor outpost in a huge persian empire. you don`t conquer an empire like that and hold it for hundreds of years with a bunch of peasants. The greeks showed great courage but in the history of the persian empire thermopylae and marathon were minor skirmishes in a distant outpost. at one point the persian empire covered everything from the caspian sea to the indus river in the east and greece and egypt in the west

A much more interesting ancient battle to report about would have been Cannae, between the Romans and the Carthaginian general Hannibal, because it involved actual tactics that are used in modern warfare today. But, I guess that would have been difficult to illustrate, because Hollywood hasn't made an idiotic movie about it.
