I just recently started fitness 3 times a week and I drink as much water as possible. I used to be a soda maniac, but I stopped that. Currently I'm looking for protein powders containing no Aspartame they exist so I happy there, but what bothers me endless is that when I asked about powders with Aspartame the majority of people in forums said it was safe. I just recently started fitness 3 times a week and I drink as much water as possible. I used to be a soda maniac, but I stopped that. Currently I'm looking for protein powders containing no Aspartame they exist so I happy there, but what bothers me endless is that when I asked about powders with Aspartame the majority of people in forums said it was safe. That's what bothers me the most! I show them all the evidence the damage it causes but they ignore it :S

Glutamate and MSG are different. MSG is the processed glutamic salt of glutamate. The fact is, this is the same argument made for sodium fluoride (which is the processed form of Calcium fluorite, not to mention byproduct of aluminum). People should be more concerned with what's missing from their diet (ie vitamins, omega 3's, et.) than with MSG. In anycase omatoes are very high in glutamate. 1) Not knowing many people in your community: less trust + less interaction =more stress/stealing and depression (so meet and greet people on sidewalks, buses, school etc.)

Then again, I know of an M.D. who sells Nikken products. Both these "Drs." could have:
a) a similar lack of scruples, or
b) a near complete lack of understanding of science, or
c) be FIRM believers in the placebo effect

The sad reality is that even those with credentials from accredited institutions can be on occasion, or very often, completely and utterly wrong. Having a doctorate does not mean that you do not have to cite evidence when you make claims. But unfortunately this doesn't stop people like this from making wild claims (such as promoting anti-vaccination nonsense).
I suspect money motivates some of them, as gullible people can have very deep, easily accessible pockets.

So I guess when I sat in university and learned about who aspartame was only really a problem for people with pku, that was just another example of a bunch of dummies, the dumb leading the dumb.
Is msg even used anymore? Asian restaurants often go to the lengths of putting up "no msg" signs.
Because of our advances, we have far fewer actually known toxins in our bodies than Europeans of several hundred years ago (lead, mercury, arsenic, etc.)
