Nope, the composer was Friedrich Hollander, he wrote it in 1930 for Marlene Dietrich in "The Blue Angel." The original German meant "I am from head to toe designed for love." A few years later he fled the Nazi purges and ended up in Hollywood, where he wrote many other songs for Marlene including "The Boys in the Backroom" in Destry Rides Again.

But you've always got to respect the original I guess (however it was obviously Irving Berlin who originally WROTE the song.)
