I have to agree with you, the montage is incredible, but the song is not about terrific brutality within mankind, but about the unmeant murder of an innocent man and the results of that deed. The location is the Western part of the USA and some pictures of the Wild West and lost outlaws would fit much more - makes me think of John Steinbeck!
