Lynch was always one of those guitarists who I never got tired or bored of listening to...he has a flare for speed/old school shred, but he doesn't WANK the damn thing either...he never gets overtly noodle-y or masturbatory with his phrasings or forays....and he's kept it that way all throughout his career...a very interesting player to listen to...always!
you can take your gutherie govans , and everyone else but this is the guy who WROTE THE SONGS that changerd the metal landscape and has such a unique metal style all his own. also he can rip it out when he wants to. he knows hes not yngwie . i dont think he cares nor wants to be. Hes lynch . IN MY DREAMS SOLO. listen to that!!!
not that george probably cares about what others think he doesnt need to . experimintation is a way to progress and diffrnt things and fun to . he loves being the underdog as he stated once , the most gifted player to come along through these times . what gets me most is these days about him is how is he so honest with himself that is so goddam difficult be . alot more thn guitar anyway . thnx always to mr scary! plz keep rockin the world george .
Been a huge fan of george for 25 years now, and the one thing i have always admired about george (apart from his out of this world playing) is his willingness to experiment, whilst other musicians of that "era" have played it it safe by doing the same thing, george will go where few fear to tread, it hasn't always worked out for him, smoke this by lynch mob was a good example, but istill took my hat off to him for doing something different, pushing himself constantly, his is an awesome tune btw
@kamikazie1974 really i thought smoke this was crap i was pissed off when he did that george said on that metal show when he and the band was promoting that joke ppl would actually throw stuff at the band on stage but not including george
@Sergaras666 ....I disagree with Hendrix being anything guitar god related....everything about him was sloppy....his sound, technique (or the lack of one), distortion, arrangement....everything. He was a drug induced, drug injected, high all of the time hot mess!! Hendrix was the homeless version or the meth addict version of a guitar player. Just throwing out my opinion just as everyone else does.
@menasnow I agreed 100% with you, until I saw Lynch Mob tonight. George is very much at the top of his game now. He has regained the fire that he seemed to have lost a bit, when he went into his "experimental" years. The new tunes that they played, just blew everyone away. I stood about 5 or 6 feet from him the entire show and was just amazed at the control that he has over the guitar. If they come to your area, you gotta see them!!
thank god for the internet i would be missing out on this shit and have to rely on fucking best buy or local music stop now ill make sure i find it.. met him on his birthday or my birthday? anyways hes unfuckinstill unbelievable have to seehm soon i hope hes touring
Easily one of the sickest guitar tracks EVER! As if Mr. Scary wasn't enough, right??? Mr. Scary was actually nominated for a Grammy--imagine if he had put both of these songs out in the same year??? In my opinion, you don't even have to be a huge guitar and/or Lynch fan to appreciate the way this song just GROOVES--it really gets your blood pumping...
