  • mate. good stuff. keep it up.

  • fender squier?

  • muy bueno, buen sonido, from Chile

  • awesome!

  • i love it!! i need it!! i feel it!!

  • nice!

  • That slight overdrive effect on the bass plus the riff itself... ORGASMIC.

  • i want your bass in my pants

  • this song is hot with a hot asss bass line i would luv to play it

    sounds good

  • My girlfriend is constantly asking me what tune I am humming and I keep telling her 'It is the BASS LINE from this or that'! Rock(especially)is like a jet and that engine you hear in the 'background' or not so back ground! is the engine that keeps the jet in the air. Take out the bass line and you have an anemic song. A story with no soul. Even with ultra great guitarists like Steve Vai(listen to 'For the Love of God')the bass is very important and adds what even THAT awesome song needs. BASS!

  • true! best song of DP. and they had many! Great cover.

  • Great JOB Upload the rest and some more .....

  • Thx mate, the strange thing is , i had the whole song uploaded, 6 full minutes and only 1:30 minutes were uploaded...

well thx for the tips for the intro, il try to adjust and replace the thingey, ^^ and take another close look to your cover...

  • Heey mate, im uploading my bass cover of highway star , ill video comment it on you, your the best cover of it ive noticed.

can you check for mistakes? its just strange how im playing it, but it aint incorrect... il make a remake soon. when i found out more bout the song.

  • awesome!

  • i liked this. just a word to my fellow bass players and anyone that likes to listen to music 'upside down'. think of the bass as the suspension on a car. it'snot front and center, you have to look for it to see it but if it's missing or faulty, the whole ride goes to hell in a handbasket.

  • depends on the band and the bass player and the arrangement of the songs. for instance as good as neil peart and alex Lifeson are...no one who listens to Rush will say that Geddy lee's bass line is lost or has to be 'looked for'. As I grew up (Who, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and so many more I latched onto the bass lines and found them to carry the songs as much as i love guitar and drums as well. Some look at a mountain and only see the trees on it...I see the mountain. The bass is 'the mountain'!

  • good stuff

  • tabs??please

  • oh yeah nice cover, but wouldnt it be better if you played the intro on G of the E string. Just a suggestion. I start off at high G on the D string then do the small 'riff' and then move on to G on the E string. But this is really good anyways :)

  • basists do get attention if they are good. 2 weeks doesn't do anything, but wait 'till you've played at least 2 years

  • ya artard

  • you can barely hear it :S

but it sounds really cool.. i wanna learn this song :)

  • mmm pepsi?

  • yeah thats cool

i used to play lead but my band already had a guitarist

so they told me i should be the bassist and i did

  • My bass is not a Squier, is a Fender american deluxe jazz bass

  • yeah i have a squire

and the pickups dont looks like that

  • Yea fenders are awesome, mine is a Fender Precision bass special

  • sweet.

  • ha i have one too...its my baby.

  • My Fender Miller sig Jazz bass ftw! :D

  • it kinda looks like my corsair which sucks. lol.

  • oh man i have to learn to play this song on the bass and im only 13. it is soo hard cuz i just started to learn how to yesterdayyyy. and yea the bass player and the drum player do need to be shown a bit more. like in my band i get noticed quiet a bit but the drummer doesnt. like everyone forgets about him. which sux and i think that the drummers should get noticed becuz they are keeping the beat. without them no one would really be able to keep in time with each other. ☻☻

  • i've been playing bass for about 2 weeks and im 13 too

in my band i dont get noticed as much

    but oh well

  • well that sux. i mostly get noticed becuz im the only girl in my band...and i have "trade marks" i guess you could say. when i first started to play everyone payed attetion to me. and that still kinda happens i guess...ive only been playing for 7 months

  • Everyone loves a chick bassist.

  • haha

  • Word, I think the drummer is most important in a band. For example, when the guitar falls out of the mix, its not a big problem. But when the drummer stops, its chaos!

And after that the bass. They show the 'base' of the song.

Guitar & vocals are important because they are the face ofthe band, but not the foundation. They are just for melody, and coloring the song!

    Bass rocks! :D

  • BlitzkriegBopp,

If you have a thinking Bass player in your band, then that is the true foundation of the band.

You, as a bass player should be able to convey the song, musically (melody) and rhythmically w/o the need for other instruments.

Adding a drum and a lead should be the icing in the cake.

  • this is a cool song and a cool amp. Hartkes sound pretty cool, you get a lot for the low price. I'm getting a HA5500.

  • what are your setting in the amp? thank you!

  • Brilliant!

  • I've started with a Line 6 Lowdown amp, now I also own a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 head. Well this video tells me that it was Hartke that I should have bought from the beginning. I love that booming thump. My next bass amp will be a Hartke head.

  • Just awesome!!!

  • bass should earn more credit then they deserve. im a drummer but they should earn some more respect then they r already r.

p.s. bass brings the funk ang groove 2 any song

  • I agree dude, I'm a bass player myself and a lot of times singers and guitarist get most of the credit. bass and drums are the foundation of the band, without them its like trying to hang a portrait with no wall or nails, lol. thats how important those two are.

  • i don't understand y they r so important any way? yes im in a band and i respect everybody in it but we should earn much respect as any other person will in the band. like in music videos they always show the guitarist & the singer and sometimes we get :30 shown on us if were lucky. i guess people look at it like singers r hot and guitarist r hot 2 and they play complicated instruments. Like HELLO!!! were here 2.we make the band have rythem like u said. I think thats changing though

  • It depends on the band and the crowd. I dont think anyone should worry about being seen in videos, the only thing anyone in a band should be noticed for is their music. If you play perfectly Im sure youd get noticed. Most people who are newer to music wont really notice the drummer or the bassist since theyre a bit more subtle, but they play a major part in a song. For me its just the opposite, I actually cant hear the guitar or vocals, I tend to concentrate on the bass and drums.

  • First of all I have nothing against bass players. Bands like Deep purple and Rush have proved what can be done with great bass players. However Metallica's "And Justice For All" proved that Bass is not always the foundation of a band. I will admit though bass is definitely underrated

  • @onedudeinthehood the reason why the bass wasn't heard on and justice for all is because they turned it down as part of Jason Newsted's hazing, but yeah the bass deserves more spotlight in rock, and metal, but then again it depends on the bassist.

  • @onedudeinthehood

Er...for real? You are aware of what a badly mixed album Justice is yeah? Jason Newstead is an immense bass player, and was quite frankly wasted talent in Metallica. All Justice proved was that a bass player can be turned out and that the mix goes flat. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favourite Metallica albums, but very badly mixed. Bass and drums are the integral structure of all bands, because they provide the entire low-frequency range for the overall sound.

  • @onedudeinthehood Uhh thats because like the assholes they were, metallica (all except Jay) chose to just turn down the bass in the recordings. How can that album be used to define the role of the bass if it wasn't present?

  • @onedudeinthehood Have you heard how much better sounds remastered (bass volume up) And Justice For All?

  • @drummerguy101 Of course the drummer would say that. I'm a bassist myself and I'm lost without my drummer/my drummer is lost without me.

  • juampo, deja de flashear!

  • dude can you send me a tab :)

  • nice cover

  • Nice cover, but the intro is in triplets.

  • good

  • The sound of the amp ist wonderful i like the hartke sound =))
