  • You should put an Eminem tape in him!! LOL!!!

I wonder what it would be like to see Teddy Ruxpin miming to The Real Slim Shady!! :P

  • Also, could you record the mixtape to your PC? I would like to see if i can get find out how Teddy's coding sounds.

  • @applesocks89 IDC

  • now lemmy ask you. if i took a cassette, and recorded my own voice, and put it in teddy and played it. would he move his mouth to my voice? or would his mouth move and his eyes go crazy? 'cause i'm working on a project and if it doesn't move witht he tape then the entire project just went down the toilet

  • @Nuggetlover96 He'll just move at random, if he moves at all. You'd have to get the real signals on the right track of one of the tapes and edit them to make him move perfectly in sync.

  • @blueoctopede is that what you did? if so how did u get the signals and how do u record it on oine track?!?!?! *confused*

  • @Nuggetlover96 You can make copies of TR tapes onto regular cassettes like in this video; they just won't work with the plastic tape player Teddies unless you cut a hole in the bottom for the sensor.

  • @blueoctopede so u just copied the song...and he magically moved to only teddie's voice?!?!

  • @Nuggetlover96 Lol it's not magic that's just how the tape is coded! Re-recording it doesn't change anything xD

  • @blueoctopede, Indeed, the left channel of the tape is just codelanguage (just like most homecomputers in that decade worked with tape, like the Commodore 64) that tells the servo's what to do. However, if you manage to get it on the computer, and if you know how the code works you could manage to get your own voice or even songs.

  • @blueoctopede ooh i get it now

  • @Nuggetlover96

    woooooaaaaahhhh.......

  • @blueoctopede Is it true that first generation Teddies can be damaged by playing normal audio cassettes? (ones without movement code on the right channel). I'd like to see how he reacts to a C64 data cassette, but not if it'll damage him :(

  • Soundtrack is on the left channel and data is on the right. So with a bit of engineering it can be done.

  • @jamesmt142 please make a greatest hits of the 80's and 90's tape please.... metallica, guns n roses and all that please...

  • I remember my little sister having one back in the 80's....I put an Eddie Murphy tape in, bad bad Teddy! lol he was swearing like a sailor

  • How do you do this?

  • @electronic4evr If you have a cassette player with an overdub feature, you just go in and record whatever you want from the Teddy Ruxpin tapes straight onto the new one, and it'll work just fine.

  • @blueoctopede I'll try that, when my cassette playr gets fixed!! (LOL, I take care of my teddies, but neglect other stuff, LOL!!)

  • I really want to play Slayer on mine....can I make that work?

  • @doddsino If you just pop the tape in, it'll play, but Teddy's mouth and eyes won't move to the words or anything. Now, if you really want Teddy to sing as Slayer, you'd have to rip the animation signals from one of the Teddy Ruxpin tapes, and re-dub them onto your Slayer cassette =)

  • @blueoctopede No, you should see my video of teddy singing the doors. That was straight from the the cassette. He dosen't work with heavy metal cassettes, though.

  • @electronic4evr Well we can't see it anymore "hm"

  • This never crossed my mind, but now that I think about it, I guess I could make a copy, and play the copy over and over... Thanks for posting

  • Wondering how to do this... Will a vintage dual cassette deck work like this... Any Suggestiions? When I saw this, I was hopeful. I want to Backup my WOW library.

  • @Buffyfan04 Well, the only thing you'll have to check is if the deck is in Mono or Stereo. If you record the WoW cassettes in Mono, everything will end up on the left track of the tape, and Teddy will play the cassette but the sound will be muffled and he won't animate. If the deck you're using is in Stereo, you shouldn't have a problem.

  • Did you have to drill a hole into the tape for Teddy to recognize it as an animated tape?

  • @BenDempster Yes, but only for the plastic tape player bears since they have an extra piece in the cassette part, on the bottom, that senses a regular music cassette and prevents Teddy's eyes and mouth from moving if one in inserted. Metal tape player bears don't have that extra piece, so you don't have to do anything to get the animatronics to work.

  • @blueoctopede Ohhh, that makes sense. I only have a plastic deck Teddy (with a partially broken neck no less and missing the battery cover!).

  • @blueoctopede andymate2006 has a video of that actually. it's like the second vidoe down if you want to check it out!

  • Hey Blue can you do me a tape like that... I have 2 metal deck Teddys and I would like to try that... maybe with the Airship and Lulibies cassettes...

  • @williamkatt81 To be honest, it's a lot easier to just do it yourself (saves on shipping costs and such). All you need is a cassette you don't mind recording over and a player with an overdub feature =)

  • put some n w a in that bear!,,, and were can i find cassette tapes? its like lookin for a beta tape and wtf is beta?...? what?

  • I don't get it... you copy one of teddy bear tape and it just work like an original one?

  • @Kima318 Yep!

  • @blueoctopede Ok thanks.

  • I have to try this!

  • I've read about MP3 players that look and act like regular cassette tapes in the sense that you can load up one of these MP3 players with music, put it in say a car tape deck and play your music in your car if your car doesn't have a CD/MP3 player. If I had an original Teddy Ruxpin and one of these MP3 players I'd try recording my Teddy Ruxpin tapes onto my computer then transferring them to the MP3 player and stick it in Teddy Ruxpin, if it works cool, non stop Teddy Ruxpin action.

  • cool

  • lol

  • cool :o

  • WOW OH WOW O_O

  • wow O_O
