What happens is people want an indictor which never fails... Something that clear cut and dry says ENTER HERE.... SELL HERE.... When the reality is trading is all OBJECTIVE. Or SUBJECTIVE depeding on who you ask. I for one use bollinbergbands to show me when a currency is trading sideways. Why is that important? Well because 100% of the times a currency goes flat, A breakout of more then 10 points occur over the top or bottom band! Then of course you control how much money you want every pip 2b

In order for this strategy to work, you'd have to take one trade ( @ 30% gain ) every 25 days and that's assuming you didn't miss a single trade and that's also assuming you didn't change your risk as your balance went up. I've been a Forex trader for quite sometime and this doesn't seem reasonable. I can see this strategy being somewhat profitable, but I think you're cooking the numbers.

Always back test a strategy, don't just except it as truth.

@PlayClaner PlayClaner I am not sure what to tell you. I can only speak about my results. Bollingerbands are very helpful, only if you truly look to play the odds of a breakout. More experienced traders HEDGE in order to perfectly fit into the run either up or down...

Where was the explanation on Bollinger Bands? There seemed to be only info on entry off swings from the 21 MA... but nothing about Bollinger Bands!

HI mark would like to know that does bollinger bands work with trending markets? how do you spot them on trending markets? i only trade eur/usd and the currently it is sideways! i use BB, with rsi and stoch(sell on OB, buy on OS) but when this consolidation period is over how do you use them in a trending market!

Yeah it do work very well in a trending market. What about sideways market? I believe that its important to know when to enter a trade and when to avoid whipsaws. Maybe you have an answer to that but its not in this video.

@teosianein - a sideways market is a consolidation period wait for the bands to constrict and plan a breakout trade. OR Get into a smaller time frame where its not so sideways.

@teosianein Trading a sideways market 1, determine if its in accumulation or distrabution 2. Wait for the 2nd rise 2nd failure. 3 draw a line across the highs then draw a line across the 2 bottoms short when hit’s the high price go long when it hit’s the low price. Use a trailing stop just in case the market changes direction half way through the trip exit when it hits support or resistance if it breakout on heavy vol get back in and ride it out till it flags

Great tip - cheers...Have not gone to your website as yet but a few quick questions;

1. Are you using a 21 period SMA or EMA (don't think it would make a considerable difference in liquid, average vol. securities, but still worth the question.)

2. Entry points for Long Positions -- The Swing Low -- Does the third low have to be under the 21 period Moving Average?

3. What other common indicators would you look for when picking up or down trends?

Its true what you say. Today I don't have a dime to invest, but I've been developing a computer system here and there. You can turn a $1000 into a million in about 4-5 years. The advantage, if any, of my system (under development) is it monitors thousands of stocks and points you to the action. Basically I reinvented a bollinger-like approach, before I knew the term. I found what made it 'powerful' (goal was annual doubling), was simply checking a 'buy' condition for upward motion 'midday'

I am a beginner in trading options and I am impressed with the way (in fact I adopt the method) you handle risk with option (see 6.06).

1) Whether this method encounters volatility crush and premium drops fast

2) If it does, does a short hold period of option (less than 5 days) will minimize the possibility of hitting with it?

Fantastic system!! I dod some back-testing visually on some of my favorites and it is very accurate. The only adjustment I made was my stop when the entry candlestick was delayed. VERY COOL Mark thanks for sharing this.
