I do anything and the great part is that they are customized by you! I am having an opening SALE sooo let me know...!!!
Fascinating, hmm? Search for endospink - lots of videos on YouTube plus on Paul's own channel. When I first saw him put a horse down, I thought he'd gone back to the days of breaking a horse's spirit. But after hours of watching his vids, I can see clearly he is helping the horses, especially those who would be sent to slaughter because they were unmanageable. The man is a genius - and a funny guy too. Check out his gentle shots at Parelli - too funny.
wow! That is amazing! HA! we could use some of that where i used to ride! ha! i wish i could help! looks like a challenge! my mom always said i was good at calming.... and angering.. lol....
i am also curious as to how how got it to lay down. I was always told to go ahead and flip the horse over, but im not going to do that. so how did u do that?
The pressure on the bit does look a bit much, but it looks like he was only using a snaffle. As to the rearing, I would only be concerned with the handlers who let the rearing become established. The horse seems cured of the problem (with that handler). Did it go back to having issues with the handlers who let it get that way? You need to teach people too, not just the horse.
i do this up my yard, lol, imthe yard owners 'lil horse whisperer' i get given problem horses to sort out so they can be sold on :D, its hard work ,but pays off in the end when a frightened, rearing and bucking horse gets sold on as a great allrounder horse with good potential and neat jumps :D woo :D, i would like to do this professionally when im older :D
im a huge fan of pauls work, anyone who has a problem with what he does needs to look up N/H methods inclding how to relise endorphins into the brain - which clams the horse, thats all that is being done. neone who thinks this is cruel 'go moan to the damn rspca about it'
Well, I see that most of the people who posted comments don't know diddly about horse behavior! This manuver is used for very unruly horses and is forcing the horse into TOTAL submission. Just like out in the wild! Yes the pulling on the mouth releases endorphins to calm the horse, but there is more..when the horse lays on the ground he is essentially helpless and vulnerable and he says I give in to you superiority. It is all about the pecking order-whos in charge/ whos the leader of the pack.
@livkit that is not abuse, That is a racehorse and those horses get once chance last chance and then off to the meat factory. Endo saved that horses life by simply laying it out to the horse that he was no longer allowed to screw over and hurt people. He didnt hit or abuse the horse in any way. Would you rather see that beautiful horses head on the floor of the meat factory? No. And btw there is no sidereins.
my appoligizes, my friend slept over last night and i left my account on.. an equine specialist has come and worked with my 5 y/o mustang... again.. i grately appoligize... :)
my appoligizes, that was my friend. she slept over last night and i left my account on.. again, im very sorry. i have had an equine specialist come and work with my mustang... again, i grately appoligize :)
yea.. i believe that thats called pulling the horses head back so far that he as no choice but to stretch his neck in between his legs... very professional
uhhh how about not. if you dont know what you are talking about then keep your mouth shut. He is acutally putting preasure on the horses mouth so that it releases its endorphins so that the horse can relax. its not about forcing the horses head down or whatever. The horse was doing that on its own.....
Wow! that video was really good! the changes in that horse were AMAZING! some horses get put down for that kind of behaviour, if only people would understand
you need to get in touch with a horse whisperer, they can usually help but they are hard to find. You might be able to find info about if you google get sulky
My auntie used to do this to horses at her barn, normally young fillys and colts, but there was this one horse there who was caught ina traffic colision, the rider never rode it again and felt funny near the horse, which effected the horses behaviour seriously. So she used to teach me when i was younger how to calm a horse using the lunging technic! It's very effective indeed and the horse was fine
Very impressive. How many of you saw the movie The Horse Whisperer? Look familiar? This is not a harmful technique when done correctly by an expert. But should ONLY be done by experts of the method, or the horse and handler could easily get injured. Well done.
i think this is a strange way of communicating with a horse. all the sources i've been to say to sort of act like a horse yourself and exert dominance, not really forceful. or maybe im speaking before knowing too much about ur method. i agree with tangocolt. it looks like a very brutal way of communicating with the horse. LOOKS like it. i'll look into this 'endorphine tap' thing...
In wild horses, dominance is the key. If a leader takes control this way, it makes a horse feel secure, thus making them behave better. The more 'brutal', as you call it, the more they feel you can take on predators. they respect and obey you happily.
Yay for throwing insults. All I'm trying to say is I've never seen this used and we've helped plenty of horses without this technique. Perhaps you'd like to point me to a site where I can read more about it of your recommendation?
Personally I don't see why you have to force a horse to the ground at your feet to ask it what to do. I believe this is just wrong, I have studied equine psychology, both myself and my class were disgusted in seeing this.
You studied equine psychology ? oh goodie, Maybe you could tell us what goes thru the horse's mind when he's slipping over on fresh blood going thru the slaughter shute. Because where hard to handle TB's end up. You did explain to your class this reality right? or did you read Black Beauty to them again?
wow this is amazing. can you please tell me how you did that? i have a 1 and 1/2 yr old quarab and have been working with her since birth and still cant get her to lead. i halter her and as soon as i try to lead her she rears and acts just like this horse and bangs into her fence and puts me and herself in danger, and i cant figure out how to train her. ive searched the internet but all i can find are how to train a young foal, and she is much larger than that by now.
if the horse wasnt comfortable with the leader he wouldnt go down! must admit, my horse acts like a crazy thing, rearing etc, if he has been in for a couple of days because of this shitty english weather, (he hates d rain with a passion!) led him out last nite to the paddock for an hour or 2 while i mucked him out........jeeeees, he frightened d life outta me, rearing up etc, so yes, wud love to know how u do it? xxxx
I love how you "listen" to the horses. So many people slap it and yell. It's amazing how people who care about a horse can make it obey them without a word of protest.
i really hope the horse poeple watching get what this was all about,Paul has the utmost confidence in himself, as the horses, also do! his vids are something to uphold..
I agree with everything but having the tack on the horse when doing it. I work with a mand that's been working with horses ever since he was 12. We've done that to my younger horse that passed away a year ago, and honestly getting him to submit, saved his life while he was alive. IDK if the man who made this will agree, but this is something you'll only need to do to your horse once or twice. It's getting them subit and realize who's boss. Thought I would add that along w/good clip!
Hey! : Again amazing! I've watched endospink's vids. But how does he do that? Puts pressure on the place where the saddle is, or? I'd be very happy for your answer :)
he uses something called the endorphine tap. you should do a google search on it =] it is very interesting. they use this method in black beauty too a few times =]
i have to say that was impressive but i think you could improve your methods based on the video and make it easier for the horse to cooperate. its better to reward your horse for performing tasks than to punish your horse for misbehaving.
when i was 6 i use to lease a bratty little pony named Percy. she bucked me off plenty of times, but every time you get bucked off you've got to get back on
Brittbritt, I feel very sorry for you! lol. I just found this vid and read through all the comments, man there are a lot of ignorant people out there! You must be sick of explaining yourself over and over. PS I'm sending you an invite to a vid of mine.
That horse had been laid up for a while. If you couldnt tell it was still a little lame. we werent trying to train her just getting rid of some of her energy. she was doing all of that on her own we didnt even have a lunge whip. id appreciate it if you didnt make assuptions thank you.
I started riding at the age of 4. Was in the Navy & wanted to ride a horse a Quantico, Va, they gave me a white horse & brushed her & cleaned her feet. Got the saddle on & the the bridle on. Rode her in a corral & the retired General came out & rode with me & then left. One of the guys came out & said you know how to ride cause the last person that rode her went over the fence. We did lots of trail riding that she had never been on before.
but u didnt explain at the end? but what u said is very true!!but Im a 11 year old girl I have a horse and she would be in front of her stall and when someone went there shed jump in back of her stall!then I bought her when I was 10 and I stoped her from doing with no professional trainer person...sooo it just doesnt have to be a profressional trainer it can be anybody u have a com personality around and has the patitiens and doesnt give up.

I'd be very happy for your answer :)

he uses something called the endorphine tap. you should do a google search on it =] it is very interesting. they use this method in black beauty too a few times =]

omg i swear i go to that barn! in san juan (spelling)!
what barn do u work/ ride(who's barn) at? and whats the horses name?
SuperDuperSlinky 3 years ago
i have to say that was impressive but i think you could improve your methods based on the video and make it easier for the horse to cooperate. its better to reward your horse for performing tasks than to punish your horse for misbehaving.

Muse... great song choice, slow your horse down when lunging though, it's a training method and a warm up, not a race track
TriggersGirl15 4 years ago
