@Trystanath14 no one cares what you think. If you dont like it thats fine but why bother telling strangers what you think? honestly i dont know you and i dont care about your negative opinions. If you dont liked something then dont watch it on youtube then leave a comment.
Tony did it alot better when he was younger as we all probably would. I saw Tony last month at Mohican Sun and he was awesome!! Unbelievable for an 85 year old man. Keep it up Tony, I'll be listening!! God bless you
Bono looks like a kid in a candy shop. It's nice to see how excited he is to be lucky enough to be singing with a legend, he's not taking it for granted at all.
A very beautiful woman, on the outside, whom I gave more than I was capable of giving to; threw me in the trash. This song truly sums up the feelings that I have now about how, in hindsight, I see that I would have been better off if I had never met her. Her issues, which are no fault of her own, will continue to destroy any men that get close to her, as well as her. I truly hope she gets the therapy she needs, before she devastates yet another man and herself. Goodbye Angela. Good Riddance.
Bennett has one of the most distinctive voices in all of contemporary jazz. Not only is this an excellent song, but it also encompasses what true jazz is all about, great music! The band's musicianship is extraordinarily demonstrated in the center portion of the piece as it includes a beautiful piano&guitar solo.
The vocal performance is also miraculous, as Bono's soothing voice, serves both as a contrast and as a complement to Tony's sharp and puncturing sound. Overall, this deserves 5 stars!
I'm Irish, I love Bono with U-2, but I have to say, when it comes to pure singer, Tony takes him to school in this video. Bono comes across as a good back-up but take a good look at Tony, he's not even trying and knocks it dead.
What do people have against Bono? It seems that on almost every video where he's paired with a more classic, well respected artist, his voice gets insulted. He's a darn good singer in his genre, and he does an admirable job here. Lay off people.
its not my fault that Bono is not a great singer. Accept it for what it is, obviously there are many people who agree with me as well, hes just not that good man...
you must be a crack smoker and not know music...bono is the man...man of the year on time mag''when is the last time tony was a strong man for people who need help and gave a shit other than wine and looking back to frank and dean.....Try me...You will lose..cbono
do you know what the argument is about? Its not about what they have done, its about the level of singing. Tony Bennett could be a serial killer and fully responsible for all terrorist acts... he still outings Bono anyday hehehe... What are you gona say next? "oh yeah! well... bono has nice hair!" hahaha
oh and if its a popularity contest that your trying to argue about (who knows what your arguing about because its not singing) then STILL Tony is a legend. Bono is very good has a nice style, but c'mon its a tribute to Mr BENNETT not BONO... do you STILL not understand?
Dude you're an idiot...thats all i can say about you. These two are great singers and it was an amazing duet. As of right now Tony Bennett is a legend and Bono is not. This is not to say that Bono won't be but right now he's not. Still I enjoyed this one greatly and thought they both gave a very passionate performance.
Wikipedia has information on Tony's philanthropic efforts as well as his prolific career and significant continuous musical influence. A fine duet obviously enjoyed by both singers!!
Thank you for you comment. They are different and people should just accept that. There was a comment up above one person said Bono shits all over Tony.. Thats just disresoectfull. Tony is by far the greatest when it comes to this style and bono is the greatest when it comes to his own style and this duet was beautiful. Im sure they appreciate each others talent adn dont go on wiht the crap like some of the people in this room
i'd say bono still does an awesome job especially considering he's much more experienced with rock vocals than that smooth jazz type that tony's so great with. gotta give props to bono for that much
I give him props for not forgetting about the old timers, i remember him doing a duet with Frank Sinatra as well, that i do give him credit for. As far as vocals go, Bono is definately not in THAT level. Props for trying at least??
Uh oh, I've annoyed a U2 fan.
