  • Great attempt!!! You have stellar technique but you really need to listen to how Gilels plays this piece!

  • Bravo :)

  • Nice! It's weird, we play all the same pieces (just watched your Revolutionary Etude performance). How old were you when you played this? This piece is hella hard for me! requires big hands. That said, some of the chords were blurry/had wrong notes in them... which is understandable. I think there needs to be more lightness in the sixteenths and a contrast between the melody (which should be the G and Bb chords not the bell-like sixteenths). The 3rd-4th pages were beautiful.

  • @fearglobalwarming Some wrong chords in the right hand, though. Overall I liked your performance but you need more dynamic contrast (maybe it's just the video quality). Check your chords in the intro the the final theme!!!! (4th page to top of the 5th page! lots of wrong notes! listen to the original!)

GOOD JOB! This is a great piece and good performance.

  • mighty difficult piece to play good job

  • how old are you and how long have you been playing piano

  • Awesome, I've played piano since 6 years and I wish I could play this track one day.

  • You're absolutely right. It's a very hard piece. If you're not a virtuoso a few little mistakes aren't important. For exemple when I did 2 mistakes in the first mvt. of the Moonlight sonata no one did care them. That's the true music love

  • Beautifully played dude! Nice job, I'm mega jelly.

  • Please. please, please, continue your studies in piano. For the world's sake.

  • Oh whoops i didn't know that. sorry!

  • maybe your playing a bit faster considering that you didnt totally master that piece and you should consider playing a bit slower but cleaner and more regularly( for what concerns the rythm)

    just a suggestion

  • WOW

  • epithom... maybe you should "practice" spelling more.

  • bayz54, Epithom spelt "practise" correctly. If it is the verb "to practise", then it has an S.

    For example: Practise spelling more.

If it is the noun "practice", then it has a C.

    For example: Dental practice.

  • at the moment i'm learning this piece too and it is much more difficult than it seems i must confess.. just one suggestion, for me it sound too romantic ( i mean the first section) you could use less pedal and play it a little harsher, a little more aggressive. but that's just my opinion. overall very well played + the middle section is just perfect for my taste

  • hi! the piano songs are good, but this song is fast, and this cover is slow... not bad, slow.. and no rachamaninov, Rachmaninoff. You're requiem for a dream cover is good, and this song cover is good, but slow! good evening!

  • You lack technique, should practise more, mainly accuracy ;). But, damn, that's THE smooth feeling.

  • so wunderful !! :)))

  • go go gadget piano bench!

  • nice

  • I have found the god of pianos

  • lol....and I envy this god

  • this is a really difficult song to master, it requires a different kind of technique and understand of the music. considering you did well.

  • check out how Matt Bellamy from muse plays this song :) GJ, very difficult piece

  • Heard few mistakes

  • no shittt

  • watch your back while playing piano, your posture is bad and that can really damage you, I say it coz I have the same problem.

    And keep the videos coming!

  • perhaps try pulling ajusting your seat or moving it forward :)

  • its not addictivve enough. u just dun get sucked into it while hearing it. i think u can do better. just practice more and show more emotions.

  • rather sloppy, but decent job.

  • your good and cute

  • This is insanely good.

  • its not a gift its called practice..but that doesnt mean he didnt do a good job

  • go die in a fire

  • how long did it take you to learn this?? i mean, it took me a little over 3 months to learn Moonlight Sonata...it seems as though it will take me over 7 months to learn this song!!! AH!

  • the whole moonlight sonata?

  • no...the first movement. it was so hard because my teacher was VERY particular. VERY particular. the dynamics she put in had to be perfect...i'm like late intermediate so i couldn't learn the other 2 movements so lol

  • how come my name is whitneymooring? lol

  • The entire sonata? or are you speaking of just the first movement? 3 months for the entire sonata I'd say nice job. Its aprx. 3-5 for this one if youre averagely talented.

  • i don't know how talented i am really...i know i am. no one ever told me how talented though. so 3-5 isn't that bad. I was thinking 7. lol

  • By reading your name I'm taking it youre 13-14?, and a girl? No offense, but I'm not sure if you will be able to play this piece. You need a really large hand for this. Especially for the accord sections in the first and last segment and the appreggios in the left hand during the middle part. Look at the sheet music and see if you can do them without having to rearrange your fingers that often. And be aware that your hand will hurt in the beginning.

  • give timmy a prize! i am 13 years old and i am a girl. first of all, i meant in later high school years that i want to play this because i am not advanced enough. sorry for not being clear on that. secondly, i have pretty large hands for a young girl. they're as big as my friend charlie. he has VERY large hands. my hands might grow too. so playing this song is a possibility

  • your set for life

  • that's a guy, the name is alex, u said you read it......

  • You're absolutely brilliant Alex, that was a fantastic job. You have a tremendous gift.

  • You are a very good pianist! People like you are an example to me (I've just started playing)

  • man, ive tried learnin this song. and its a really and no pun inteded...a hand full. i got most of the song down, excpet the last page, and even tho i know the other pages, i still really really need to do alot of work for it tosouund like urs, good job! one day i will learn this song properly and all of it too.

  • OMFG!

Unreal. I wish I could play like that.

  • Tu eS sImpleSmenT éTonNant!!!

    =)

  • No, I won't. Rachmaninov is my favourite. Moreover he is my countryman. He play bad, isnt it?

  • Hey 3kDemn. Shut the fuck up.

  • You are a fucking idiot! He played this very well! Why are you making fun of some one who is obviosly very gifted at piano? Probably much more talentd than you!

  • instead of coming down so hard on somebody you'd better give advise to improve the playing, but you probably know to little about it, or you'd have done so...... giving some shitty comment without even motivating it is a lot easier......

  • I stadied in Gesin's Schoold of Music since 1996 and I know what I say. For example Evgeny Kissin plays this prelude much better, great perfomance. Just check "Rachmaninov prelude 23-5 by Evgeny Kissin". He stadied in the same school, like me.

  • It's not fair to compare this man to Kissin, they are not on the same level, that's for sure (regardless what I think of Kissin's performance)... But that doesn't mean you have to come down hard on somebody who does a very great job of trying to achieve the best possible....., that he's not there yet doesn't neccesarily mean he won't. I still think it's better to encourage somebody (when they have it in them, and this man does) then to discourage them by comparing them with a top call pianist

  • Hm. May be you are right. Sorry than ) I should not come down on somebody next time. So now I will give only advises )

  • Thank you :D

  • excellent. breathtaking.

    thank you,

you have inspired me to learn this.

  • respect! I can play it to^^

Its very hard to practise and offers very much

    endurance

I start playing paino with 7 and start practise rachmaninov with 14 1/2 an finished it with 15 ! 6 Month hard practise .... So its not impossible and when you can play it its great . An undiscribable feeling :D

  • Great, Love to see people play my favo. Rachmaninov piece, wish I could play it myself

  • i love rachmaninov

  • omg, u play soooo well. i'm jealous, i've always wanted to learn to play piano, but my parents haven't had enough money for piano lessons. i love the voice of piano, it's so beautiful. u are really talented, so lucky!

  • lol, really on your parents to pay for your piano lessons? I'm completely self taught, and I recently finished memorizing this entire piece. Never had a lesson in my life, and I can honestly say I wow people. But, if you're the type that needs lessons, get a job... earn pay, ask, and learn. Discoverie, everything you need to know isn't only located on youtube. I assure you anything is possible.

  • Oh My Godness!! You are awesome!! I'm a pianist too, but I'm just 12 years old... One day I'll play like you... I startes to play the piano last month, well, I just know how to play some musics (Half a Week Before the Winter, Kiss my Eyes and Lay me to Sleep, Look What You've Done...) After I'll put a video of me playing Half a Week Before the Winter - Vanessa Carlton =D

  • a bit too slow for me

  • I'd like it even a tad slower... the drama of the piece comes across even better then, specially in the bass passages like the start.

  • This piece is beautiful! and you play so well!! :D How long have you been playing??

  • I wish i could do that, but you are one in a million...¬¬

  • You are great, man. Freedom of speech is also great, but...take what you need.

  • Rachmaninov himself played it slower.

  • WOW!

  • yeah, you're so keen to criticize how he plays, but you yourself have not even a video to your name of you playing "better" piano, let alone at all. proof's in the pudding, man.

  • little too much pedal?

  • Rachmaninoff was such a genious! What a wonderful masterpiece!

You played it very well. A few mistakes but the overall was very positive. Keep playing dude! ;)

  • wanna marry me??

    !!!

    !!!!

  • very nice...dude u are awsome:|...again no words!:|

  • interesting

  • Hearing.. is that like a recital?

  • ...

  • ...

  • haha awh this is a cute fun song ;) You're amazing!

  • Good job!

  • wow, u play really well! I love the Pirates video, that's an incredible piece of improvisation.

  • Awesome!
