  • artic abyss? no, wonderland.

  • amazing music what nintendo had it brings back memories when i was young

  • The game was an amazing SNES game at the time, and it still is.

Love every DK Country games :D

  • somehow i always get depressed while listening to this song,it makes me think of the 90's,and how those good times will never come back. the excitement of getting a SNES game,or the euphoria of beating a hard level in games like these, the time when the only worries we had were about video games, those times will never come back..

still to this day,SNES is my favorite console, the games it had,the experience i witnessed, from FF6 to DKC2,i'll never forget it,thanks, thanks for the memories..

  • seriously, am i the only one who loves this game along with CoD????

  • @TheOmnislashlv4 i love this game,but not along with CoD,i hate CoD,mind you

  • @TheOmnislashlv4 Yes,because no person would ever love this game along with that garbage.

  • @CountBleck222 Don't get me wrong. DKC2 is one of my favorite games of all time! Hell, i just completed the game last week for the 100th time.CoD is a game i love to play with groups of friends. Hopefully you have a group of your own friends so that maybe you can also relate........hopefully.

  • @TheOmnislashlv4 no you're not :) I hate when people tells that COD suck only because they prefer the old video games. Sure, I prefer my old snes, but one day you have to play something else, it's not necessary to be close mind to new things. And one last thing, I don't understand people saying 'I don't like this beceause it's overrated', tha f*ck man, it's not a question of rating, you play or not if you like or not.

    great song, thanks for posting

  • @DonaTendo Thanks! It's nice to see another open minded gamer! =)

  • Didn't matter if had a shitty day at school, a bully had beaten me or my girlfriend left me back in 95 cause i always had DKC and its music to go back home to play and listen to.

  • So is this a reprise/remix of "In a Snow-Bound Land" or are they same song? Because they sound really alike. Maybe just a little bit different, though...

  • @IsisStarlights They are the same. This is just the level name. The other one you mentioned is correct.

  • just awesome :-)

  • All of the games in this series were released within 12 months of me being born (or pretty darn close)<3

  • i think i'm gonna grab myself a kleenex and start a new file on the best thing to happen in 1995 other than me being born

  • SOMEBODY HELP!! I'M... FEELING!!!

  • i remember this track used to make my tv vibrate. awesome!

  • FOREVER LIVE IN THE PAST!

  • its this type of genius work that is lacking in today's games...emotional content

  • @csten84 IDK Minecraft can be pretty emotional at times

  • @Mr70016 It takes more than a couple good songs to make a game emotional.

  • @zak832 A couple? the whole soundtrack is amazing just like DKC2

  • @Mr70016 Not as amazing. Most of the music seems pretty simple. Although, I haven't played the game in a while, so I'm sure about any newer stuff.

Either way though, the atmosphere in Donkey Kong Country way better than Minecraft.

  • @zak832 Simple music for a simple game. Watching the sunset or staring at your pixely creations while piano or other music is playing is just awesome. If Mincraft had a bad composer it wouldnt have worked out but c418 is almost as good as david wise in my opinion. That combined with the charming aesthetics of the game make it a little better than DKC2. Plus they're gonna add monkeys to Minecraft. WHAT NOW?

  • @Mr70016 Yeah, C418 is pretty awesome. The music in Minecraft really doesn't feel like it was built for the game though. It's just good music put in a decent game. As opposed to DKC where all of the music fits perfectly for the area that it's in.

  • @Mr70016 shut the hell you up you little kid. never compare minecraft to N64 classics. minecraft is a game similar to farmville where a bunch of people with nothing good going on sit and 'build' stuff. DK2 is a game about saving a society of monkeys from the onslaught of Krool. Your a bad person and get lost.

  • @paschen2219 I like both DKC2 and Minecraft. Does that make me a bad person? Also, Mr70016 was comparing the music, not the games, though you seem to think he did.

  • @paschen2219 Yeah im 13 and I like DKC2 thats saying something; I wasnt born then and i still had the will to enjoy it. Im just saying I like the two games equally. It's angry n00bs like you that have no life and go around picking web arguments. Thats sad. Think to yourself before posting comments like that: Is it really worth my time? Because if it is, go get a girl or play a sport or something. You're wasting your own life, not mine.

  • @Mr70016 Minecraft? Interesting.

  • Owwwwwwwwwwww Infancia de una niñes.. Lo mejor Donkey Kong Country2. me encanto ...u.u sus music me traen recuerdos ........................T:_T

  • Antartica /watch?v=5w0Xy_6WIY0

  • SNES games can't die... i still playing snes emulators in my pc.

  • i can make a baby to this lmao!

  • INESQUECIVEL, MINHA VIDA FOI ISSO!

  • I dunno, but I think, that's just a big show for the small change...

  • this makes me cry. it''s so beautiful.

  • T_T

  • funny how abyss is in the title when the level is on a really fucking high mountain.

  • *Floats on a raft in a Icy cavern and smokes cigarette*

  • Comment removed

  • Definitely getting played at my funeral

  • ahhh the memories im 20 now and gaming back then was so much better.

  • let memories begin... i want to cry !!!

  • this played at my prom for the grand finale slow dance. It was the first time I'd ever felt true love.

  • @StrangeCognitivism Did it really? God i wish thats going to happen at mine!

  • @StrangeCognitivism o.O u just gave me a whole new a idea for this song, when i was a kid i would leave this stage on pause put volume up and go 2 sleep (so relaxing)

  • @StrangeCognitivism Holy crap... Your school kicks ass.

  • @StrangeCognitivism That's awesome, I hope I have that feeling someday. Sometimes I fear it'll never come. If it doesn't I'm sure things will work out and I'll have a career that a fall in love with. Semper alone.

  • @StrangeCognitivism Did it actually?

  • In ricordo di un'infanzia spensierata che non tornerà più... ^^

  • this sounds like a "Chill out" type of music, Nice!

  • im 26, and this game was the game I played when I was younger

  • I swear, if I had the time, skill, and money, I'd carve out ice caves to resemble the ice stages in DKC and race through those stages... everyday.

  • 13 year olds saying that they're snes-n64 kids. Chyeah right. Back to cod.

  • @hezman969 Dude i'm 14 and I AM an snes-n64 kid. Sure I have a 360, but the only games I play on it are Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie and that's only because I wanted to see how good I could get ranked on the leader boards. I still prefer the original N64 versions though. The only systems I even have hooked up in my room are my n64 and snes. I don't play COD at all because I think that games is way over rated and each game in the franchise is no different from the last. These are the only games I play

  • @rootbeer543 im 16 and im with u all the way.

still... only way i can play snes-n64 games are via emulator.

so... not as good as the origionals. but i aint complainin.

  • @supersmashbro596 I wish I was younger sometimes. Some SNES RPGs like FF6 and FF4 could've really used the fast forward feature for grinding. Get a USB SNES controller and you'll save money while experiencing the games I experienced.

  • @rootbeer543 omg me too! i have a snes and n64 in my room too, and these are the only games i play. we must be soul mates =0

  • @rootbeer543 amen for being teens who dont play COD and think it's overrated

  • @rootbeer543 Kid, you bring back hope for humanity.. Respect!!

  • @giroxius Haha thanks. Kids of today just don't see what really makes a game a masterpiece.

  • @rootbeer543 i'm proud of you young padawan.

  • @hezman969 dont be a douche bag anyone can enjoy this game, whatever generation your from. my little brothers 12 he loves these games

  • I'm only 15 years old; but like rootbeer543, i think that most modern games suck. The games for the SNES and N64 are pure gaming genius. The music and soundtracks are incredible. The scenery and backgrounds were amazing. My parents got a SNES and It still works today. Why can't the games today be more like the games of yesteryear?

  • When I first wen't to the ice caves in this game I expected the levels to look like the ones in DKC. My mind was blown away by both the scenery and the beautiful music. It literally brings a tear to my eye. I may have been born in 97, but I still like to consider myself a kid of the SNES-N64 gen, cause I think newer games suck and nothing can beat those to systems.

  • @rootbeer543 I'm not alone. I wish I could talk to my classmates about such great games, but if I want to start they just look confused and say shut up... Well, I play newer games, but I still love and keep these old ones. They are my treasures for life. When I'm grown up, I'll show these games to my kids. I think its emberassing if someone say 'What is Donkey Kong' or 'What the hell is a SNES?'. Do you think so, too?

  • @ZoraLink98 I totally do! I have like 3 friends who actually play these games too. Everyone looks down on them because "they look blurry and crappy". Who cares how unrealistic it may look? The music is genius, the scenery is beautiful, and the gameplay is addictive and fun, plus challenging. Like seriously how many games these days really make you think about every which move? in COD you die you respawn and try again over and over again. These games if you die sometime you had to restart.

  • @rootbeer543 Yes, and did you noriced, the newer games are easier. Like Mariokart Wii, compare it with the Mariokart for SNES. I wanted to beat it up again with my bro yesterday, and the best place was the 6. we were able to reach, from 8! Oh, and happy new year, I know, its a bit late, but.. whatever :D

  • @ZoraLink98 Yeah they are! The game I really praise is Donkey Kong Country Returns. Those levels got very difficult. But the super kong was a bit too much of a handy-cap. And happy new year to you too! :)

  • @rootbeer543 Yes, it is a master piece, but I miss Rareware, tough...

  • @ZoraLink98 Well tomorrow gameinformer is announcing a game that will be a "shocker to old school gamers" and "the company is apparently the big shock". Maybe a new Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, or Killer Instinct? I mean what else could be such a big shock to old school gamers?

  • so beautyful teme

  • i miss these days

  • so clear and smooth

  • Damn, good years. Laying in my bed high and listening to this is amazing. Wish I could go back and play one full world with my sister.

  • Listening to all of these with a bass headset is totally worth it. I used to play this every weekend at my dad's when i was really young. must have been at least 13 years but i recognize every song as if i played it yesterday. amazing game it was.

  • Sounds like an ass getting smacked.

  • @dorminyorda

    LOL, made my day.

  • @dorminyorda Dude really? ur retarded...

  • @dorminyorda L.M.F.A.O. have not laughed that hard in a while. OH MAN.LOL

  • @dorminyorda Hahah thanks for pointing that out i will never listen to this level again without thinking that! lol

  • @dorminyorda once you hear it, you cannot unhear it

  • @dorminyorda Fuck, you just ruined my childhood. I'll never again be able to play this level without thinking of your comment. LOL

  • @dorminyorda Now that you point that out, I'm going to imagine that it's candy kong's or Nicki Minaj's ass getting smacked everytime I play this level and hear that.

  • @dorminyorda you ruined my experience

  • @dorminyorda Damnit, now I can't unsee an ass getting slapped every time that sound pops up in the song.

  • What I would give to go back and replay this game for the first time..

  • well i guess that there are 4 people in this world that have no idea of what is the life about

  • So f*cking relaxing...This is supposed to be like an "Aquatic Ambience" but for DKC2, right? Like, a remake of some sort?

  • love it <3

  • The music in these games gave them so much feel!

  • This song almost makes me feel the magic of the 90's all over again... Almost...

  • as somebody said earlier this is good music to sex to...

that snare sounds like an ass getting slapped from behind.

    tsssh

  • all DKC games have great music, but DKC2 tops them all.

-sniff- such great music,my fav are bramble blast, hot head bop, artic abyss and forest interlude

  • @Happytreefriendsfan3 hot head bop and its balloons made me furious but i played through it anyway. this game is the type that makes you want to try harder and harder to win when you fail.

  • @marioman4351 its the type that makes me hungry when i fail. lol

  • @AuraScar ha yeah i remember just stopping after i died for the 100th time and making a sandwich.

  • @Happytreefriendsfan3 and Jib Jig!!

  • @Happytreefriendsfan3 in my opinion those are the fantastic four

  • @Happytreefriendsfan3 The best tracks. Not just of this game. :)

  • @Happytreefriendsfan3 i couldnt agree more with those faves

  • vangelis.....antartica

  • the clang in the back makes me think of the night sky of the north pole

  • Lol the picture reminds me of the sound the enemies made when you would bounce on them, "AHHHHHH!" x) childhood memories,,,,,

  • In my opinion, this game is the best game I've ever played. It's fun, it's beautiful, it has some eargasmic music.

But I gotta say something about the whole "games today aren't beautiful and artsy as that time":

    Yes, SNES games are awesome.

Yes, some people today don't know the difference between a fine game and a game that sells a lot.

But VERY NICE GAMES, and games with VERY NICE MUSIC still exist.

Go play Super Mario Galaxy, people. I swear you won't regret.

  • @joeicatrivante That's true, dude super mario galaxy is an awesome game, maybe doesn't have enough difficult (my dear mario 64!) but it's delicious to play

  • Ah such nostalgia. A true masterpiece.

  • Seriously though.... I'd do a chick to this song

  • @kelzk Better be a gamer chick who appreciates older game music. Otherwise, I can just imagine some other woman asking about the song and how awkward it would get during the afterglow.

"Hey that song was really romantic, what's it called?"

"Oh it's called Arctic Abyss from Donkey Kong Country 2. Yeah we just had sex to videogame music."

    o_0

  • @kelzk I'd do a chick to your mom.

  • @kelzk im gonna try that... maybe she'll let it fly

  • @kelzk uhhh maybe not id probably just be thinking about monkeys instead of her sweet punani

  • @kelzk AHAHAHA you made my day!!!!

  • @kelzk

    LMFAO!

  • @kelzk WITH BOTH EYES OPEN!??!?!??

  • the first time i heard this song in the game, i immediately fell in love with it. i just stayed there with the game running, for about 20 minutes or so, just sitting there, listening to this epic masterpiece. it's my favorite tune in the game.

    truly mesmerizing...

  • These musics makes me understand why we are here on this life... it feels so good to remember all our happy moments, when all we cared was with our HAPPINESS, and how we could be happy with so simple things. Today I can't feel this happiness even having a very nice and comfortable life due to the stress that fills our world. I hope it will come the day when everyone will have time to be HAPPY as - at least me - was at childhood.

  • Some of this music is surreal. This song gives a sense of wonder and relaxation to me. The music just matches the visuals of the area so well it's unbelievable. How they could pull this stuff off with such a lack of technology back then is amazing.

  • Doesn't this sound a little bit like Vangelis - Theme from Antarctica? Great music though!

  • you are so right lets do what mariodonkeykong1990 says ok.=D

  • @BusaLova Play the wii and game cube

  • The 90's called, it wants it's awsome game music back!

  • @Blomsternisse Oh please not, I can't miss this music in my life :(

  • Here I am in 2011. The future era of technology yet I still have all these retro games from my past. NES, SNES, and N64 games that I have played as a child of about 6-10 and here I am 22 years old and covered with thick chest hair still playing this stuff. LOL. I am going to be a laughing stock of people who are growing up in the modern era and they will think the technology I am using for entertainment is complete shit. Pity.

  • @jmario232 Ha! Those who don't look at history don't know what they have today. We enjoyed the golden age. Making the most of the tools we had within the limits of 1990's technology. Today we have vastly superior tools and yet not one of the current game designers have managed to produce the level of quality and replayability that the old SNES games have.

  • @BusaLova What about Hideo Kojima, Shigesato Itoi, and Shigeru Miyamoto?

  • why isn't there a Donkey Kong Country 2 playlist thing on here?!?!?!

  • Ahhhh... Vangelis...

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 if it wasnt for the game we wouldnt be watching this!

  • This music brought me back to being a 6-year old, too ignorant to care about life problems. Video game music is legendary! Waaaaaaay under-credited for their analytic/creative ability.

    Thanks for the song! =)

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 Here here!

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 Thank you sir, for that, I hereby present you with 3 internets.

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 Yes, indeed it does. :)

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 sounds good to me. lol

  • @mariodonkeykong1990 Agreed! :) I love games of past and present, so I'm totally with you.

  • @mariodonkeykong1990

i made the 100th like for your comment

    :D

  • What's with all the arguing here? Let's just enjoy the music in peace. c:

Besides, if people prefer stuff like CoD compared to a gem like this, then hey, it's their loss.

  • Reminds me of Earthbound a bit

  • Surely, Vangelis would be proud and appreciative of this particular composition.

  • this music is epic. the donkey kong returns game is alright, but the music sucks compared to this. they should have added some songs from this game into it. i love the feel this music brings to the game. great.

  • I am a 14 year old girl lol and I am sooo glad my older cousins loved video games they gave me there super nintendo shortly after I was born with sum games with it and this was my favorite one I have never realy caught onto the wii like my lil bro I have and always will be happy with my super nintendo...but sadly back in 2009 I lost dkc2 but I downloaded this on the wii and play it alot with my lil bro he loves this also :D

  • This is so Nostalgic. It bring back the good ol times of the 90's when there were little worries. Just waking up saturday morning and blowing into game cartridges to play these games with family friends

  • I was born in 1990 nd playing dk2 when I was child was awesome I would wake up every sat an play this I Waldo had 1and 3 I beat them all but Dk 2 is the best snea game ever fuck metroid Zelda every other game is over rated but a good game that should be talked about is Dk 2

  • OMFG. This is stolen from the "Antarctica" soundtrack by Vangelis.

  • @MagpieMaid I listened to the "antarctica" soundtrack and they do sound in a way barely similar. I feel that this one is 8 billion times better.

  • ... and to think this game scored as low as 8/10 on some reviews...

  • David Wise, your music takes me out of this world

  • Write long, melodramatic comment about how awful gaming is today.

    Receive thumbs up.

  • best memories in this game it almost maeks me wanna cry....

  • All I need to say is back in the day, you COULDNT choose the game difficulty. I started on DKC, and unlike games of this generation, I STILL havent gotten bored of playing the DKC series.

  • Aside from the plot and characters, music is what made the games back then. <3

  • @sweetandsour93 not entirely true. For a game to be a damn good game even to this day it haded also good/funy gameplay, and donkey kong was one of them. music alone can't justifly great games. im not even going to add graphic because i dont even give a damn, good graphic dont mean shit

  • @itzAcutie That's exactly what I said...just way shorter lol :)

  • This makes me want to pull an all nighter and play through the whole game, ON A SCHOOL NIGHT.

  • @slippage10 On a school night. :O so badass! Actually i'm serious it is badass and i'm going to do the same thing just because your idea sounds awesome. Thanks for the idea! lol

  • I'm glad I was born in 91' still had the chance to play super nintendo and n64. Which in my opinion, is much more memorable than the modern games. Seriously, Zelda, can't say you don't remember fantasizing about that game. Xbox360 ps3 could not fulfill what super nintendo and n64 has done. -3

  • I'm so glad I have brothers, otherwise as a girl I probably would of just filled my childhood with more barbies and never know DK2. I don't like first person shooters, they're ok but, this is far more innocent.. Sticker-brush Symphony and Forest interlude I love so much, but arctic abyss is what really touches my heart, probably because the snow levels were my favorite, oh how I love to make Diddy slide! :D

  • Back when water levels were NOT annoying.

  • @BassistBill1988 But still terrifying. Sharks are scary at any rate
