tomoya met nagisa at the beginning of all routes. you know, tomoya met her in the middle of hill to school and nagisa asked tomoya "do you like this school?." that is the beginning of clannad and then tomoya gets to like each girl on each world except ryou because ryou does not have an orb of happiness.

I think you've only watched the 1st season of Clannad (ep 23 was when Mei tried pairing up a date for Tomoya and Nagisa). Episode 24 was an alternate world OVA for Tomoyo, and this episode 25 is ANOTHER alternate world for Kyou. If you know the game, you'll understand.

P.S.: I believe you haven't watch the After Story yet (the Kyou OVA is part of the After Story series)

Kyou (long haired girl) likes Tomoya but Kyou's twin sister, Ryou (short haired girl) happens to like Tomoya as well. Not wanting to lose to her big sister, Ryou asks Tomoya out. Kyou, on the other hand, puts Ryou before her happiness so when Ryou and Tomoya starts going out, Kyou becomes depressed.

Just google, Clannad After Story Ep 25. This one episode arc is focused more on the Fujibayashi twins and is incoherent to the original story of Clannad.
