OK, it's been a while since the health care bill passed, but as I remember it, the blue dogs in the DFL killed the public option. The house sent a watered down bill to the senate and the senate watered it down even more. The insurance companies had the Dems by the balls and got them to pass a bill that gave the private insurers more customers. Now they're going to use the republican majority to cut out protections for preexisting conditions. Blame the real culprits please - not Obama.

@Omniculler Um... none of that is true. I can say as an active member of the Ron Paul community that one of the most important issues is the war. If you follow him, he talks about those issues every other interview. Some are themed, so he won't discuss them because his time is limited, but his policies are available for anyone to find out in most of his speeches, in his website, & in the political philosophy he endorses, as well as the economic philosophy. Then there's his voting history.

Also he wants to end the EPA, which is already underfunded, and to end the capital gains tax, estate tax, and income tax. Income tax maybe but some replacement has to be found. For the former two, that's batshit insane; in a bad economy with huge debt--incomprehensible. As if the rich don't have enough advantages already.

It is rare that I find someone who I agree with so much, kudo's. The only thing I disagree with is to hell with the public option, I want socialized medicine. Teh President should have had the cajones to accept short term defeat so that he could turn the issue into a referendum for the 2010 election. The healthcare bill that passed was so polluted with compromise that it is now ironically a weapon against him. The last President I truly thought was a good man was James Earl Carter.

OK, it's been a while since the health care bill passed, but as I remember it, the blue dogs in the DFL killed the public option. The house sent a watered down bill to the senate and the senate watered it down even more. The insurance companies had the Dems by the balls and got them to pass a bill that gave the private insurers more customers. Now they're going to use the republican majority to cut out protections for preexisting conditions. Blame the real culprits please - not Obama.
