@VeterusTV, Yeah Jesse has a unique style of mandolin playing. One of the first to cross-pick on the mandolin for sure. Doc was cross-picking guitar but on mandolin Jesse was the first person I heard playing those rolls.

Jesse played Mandoline on the Groundspeed record Charlotte Waltz that we did in 1989 in Nashville. He was so great and still he is !

Jim died December 31, 2002, and Jesse is still very much alive and performing. I got to meet Jesse at Podunk in 2008 where he had a great performance.

I believe Jim is still alive (and touring!) but Jesse passed away in 2002.

I met these fine gentlemen back in the late 60's in Brewton Alabama. They had stopped for a bite to eat at a little diner there. As a teenager, I had no compunction at interrupting their meal, and they were so kind. They gave my sister and I autographs, and showed us both that gentlemen were still alive in well. You Tube used to let us download videos but now it doesn't seem to. About all I can think of is pointing a camcorder at the video while it plays. Several artists reproduced this tune including the Jay Guiles band but the best version is by Ricky Nelson. Can anyone find that one?
