I am not sure where VNV is but I am pro God and I like their music and message. There is a bad side to religion (due to man) but the bible itself calls helping others true religion. We can bring light or darkness, death or life, into this world. Choose life.
Still not sure on the bands actual stance, but like I said before -- it doesn't really matter ;) Their message is more about hope (man conquering his own demons) than pushing dogma.

Furthermore, you're intentionally getting me wrong. I did not say that god exists because we can't disprove he does. I can think of alot of arguments agains the cream bunny in the moon. How many arguments do you have that disprove god?

If you are saying you have thousands of arguments against the idea of god, I would like to hear one. Since I have not a single one that proves him, that would mean he probably does not exist, so it would solve a lot of questions.

Well, either God exists or doesn't exist. There is no 'probability' to speak of since the existence or non-existence of God is something that has already happened, if you take my meaning.
Also I have no proof that ethics, the color blue or any other thing exists, at least not outside of my subjective experience. In fact I don't even have proof you are real. So I don't believe in any of these.

Everything either exists or doesn't exoist, but there are still pronabilities. But I see your point. I only said 'probably' because even things that are "proven" turn out to be wrong at time.
You are right about the fact that you can't actually proof anything. However, you need to make practical assumptions in order to live your life. One of these is that I assume that you actually exist. But you could always be just dreaming.

They say god is in the ream of the not manifest...so everything around you in a absolute kind of way is god, and you may believe or not in his existence, that isn't really important, because whatever we may say deep down we always know what is wright and what is wrong..but our ego prevails, maybe we should be a true human and do our true will and not being our ego, and then the questions will find an answer.

Questioning if God exists is the first step to salvation as if asked honestly and openly it gives God the opportunity to prove himself in a very personal way. It was songs like this that helped me to find God initially which is why I really like such intelligent lyrics.
Prayer and action work hand in hand like faith and works. This is why I focus on the action of faith in the video and see that line as a call to action vs prayer alone.

Savior is interesting because it was the first song of thiers that I heard. It was a single and I bought the album anyway to happily find that the album only had it as an instrumental. I been to several concerts and they dont sing that song.

@dddienst As far I can understand VNV, (which is pretty deep) they do not satirically, sarcastically, target religion, but rather ignore it and look at the good behind it, for the betterment of man while indirectly pointing out the irony in God. i.e. Descent, fearless, left behind, sentinel, and very much Existence.

So yeah, I think that Genesis, if anything, is QUESTIONING God's existence, not following Him. Other reasons I think that VNV (or at least Ronan) is Atheistic include things like:

3. "With you I stand in hope that God will save us from ourselves." sounds as if he HOPES there is a God, even if he doesn't believe in one.
4. "Every cry a wasted moment, until another day is lost." "Only heaven's silence for an answer" These seem to speak of the futility of prayer...

Genesis to me is about questioning whether God exists, or even if a God is needed.
1. "The abyss becomes me. I wear this chaos well," sounds like "I am thriving in a world without God."
2. "Are these not words of heresy, a venom on my lips, a poison? My spirit, impurified by everything I choose to say," sounds like "Does this mean regardless of my other actions, I am a sinner merely because I don't believe in God?" (or question God)

I am not sure where VNV is but I am pro God and I like their music and message. There is a bad side to religion (due to man) but the bible itself calls helping others true religion. We can bring light or darkness, death or life, into this world. Choose life.

Still not sure on the bands actual stance, but like I said before -- it doesn't really matter ;) Their message is more about hope (man conquering his own demons) than pushing dogma.

Interesting. I haven't seen anything from the actual artists on their music. But like I said, their music is definitely filled with the concept of "hope." Heck just what VNV stands for pushes that message :)
