  • The music is actually Nimrod from Elgars Enigma Variations, and is one of the most powerful pieces of music I have ever heard.

  • not all of those in this video are my people. and I will not work for "everyone" i will work for myself, and through that, my people. All religions cannot work together if only one religion works towards peace, while the others strive for war and extermination of the others, get your fuzzy attitude about peace out of your head, it will only lead to the death of your people.

  • I've always considered the "theme" of VNV Nation to be derived from secular humanism. Humans are ultimately the masters of their own destiny, whether it be for good or evil.

  • hi

  • this video gave me chills and brought me to tears.

  • i hate the french part

    shoot me now :)

  • @moshh1

  • @GabeTheCrusher I think you MISTYPED mistiped :D

  • @Aussie26846 that sir, just made my day (':

  • why not? because they hegomnising swarms, endlessly replicating angry things determined to make everything in exist a copy of themselves

  • Haste fein gemacht.

  • Not the best Music but it helps me to sleep.

  • This suits good to the Caress-Week. Very movable and mindable.

  • No comment. :|

  • The beginning was good.

  • I understand you friend, but that hurts the rest do not felicidades buen video jejeje

  • hitler was an underachiever

  • Stfu dude, do you even know where your talking about? I mean, dude, c'mon. Thousands of people died because of him, like the family of my grandma. Do you want that? Do you really want that something terrible like that would happend again? Your sick dude, sick.

  • You are right this world doesn't belong to us. Neither does it belong to any god of any kind.

It belongs to itselves! We are just lucky not having our hands chopped off for stealing its peace or taken our lives by slowly killing it.

Death to mankind and peace on earth!

  • @pocaluneksmierci that is so uncalled for. I really think you should apologise, not only for him, but for your soul

  • You must be joking.

  • You are just sick muslim terrorist, you know I'm right.

  • Surely you must admit that humans are the worst thing to happen to earth, right? Think of global warming, wars, torture, murders, all these things that wouldn't happen if we weren't here or (please excuse this; I'm Christian but you get the idea) if we hadn't committed the initial sin in the very beginning.

  • Your point is correct, but i ask you this:

Arnt made to his image? He made us so we would take the original sin, free choice my ass. If you give a child a piece of candy and say if you dont eat it now you get two pieces later. You really think the child isnt gonna eat it?

Tell a human they cant do shit they will want to do it.

  • @Demo275 Be sure to watch the WHOLE thing

    /watch?v=6EjJsPylEOY&feature=related

  • @hairyfrankfurt

Life is no sin. Humanity is not wrong. We're a sickness to this earth... but what of it? Who cares. Unless you plan on extinguishing the human race, all you can do is ask for there to be light. Getting worked up about how much the human race sucks won't get anyone anywhere.... I don't mean to infringe on your opinion, but I chose to express mine on yours.

  • @Hippolover7891 Thats true.. I think some things just upset me

  • The nexus of space and time where you are -- NOW -- is the most immediate sector of your universe.

And if you're worrying about Michael Jackson or Bill Clinton or somebody else, then you are disempowered. You're giving it all away to ICONS.

Icons which are maintained by an electronic media so that, you want to dress like X or have lips like Y...

This is shit-brained, this kind of thinking.

    That is all cultural diversion.

  • Yea! death to mankind! let us start the cleansing of the planet with you!

  • First, start by doing yourself in. haha

  • Why can christians, jews and muslims not let others believe what they want. Religion comes from your heart, not from a book.

People who thing their god is the best and all others are deviish are lost. They are slaves of religion.

I have a religion too. My religion is the earth, mother nature.

  • @Geenflauwekul

Actually, religion comes from a mental illness. Anyone who believes in a big space daddy who lives in the upstairs is a complete and utter idiot. I don't care if they're christians, jews or muslims. Religion has no place in modern society.

  • @lelouchlibritannia

religion, in my opinion, is a socialy accepted way to ditch all your own responsability.

  • @Geenflauwekul You have no religion, you have faith - and thats more worth, then anything else. Religion is just a metaphorical word for power and manipulation. So if there would be more people like you, who have the strenght to beliefe theire own things, the world would be a better place. Sorry, my english is bad as hell. Hope you understand what i mean ^^.

  • @Geenflauwekul Why do you stereotype the faithful that follow books?

  • @Geenflauwekul I think that religion does come from a book. I'd say that spirituality is that which comes from the heart. Religion is an organized and dictated type of spirituality, which often compels people to not want to allow others to believe what they want.

  • Spirituality is the knowledge and genuine feeling of that you, and everyone else is divine beyond comprehension.

Religion is the knowledge that you,and everyone around you obey the rules given in the correct and non-heretical rulebook.

So most logically, there is afterlife. The stage, where you reunite with loved ones.

    Another dimension..

While hell sounds the opposite - highly unlogical, unless the god you whorship actually turned out to be your precious Satan to begin with...

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • I love this "song", it tells so much. It tells how to live..LOVE IT <33

  • This is "borrowed" from the movie "1984"...

    Who wrote it...anyone?

  • the book was written by George Orwell.

The film starred Richard Burton and John Hurt... the better version was a BBC TV show, in black and white staring a very young looking Peter Cushing....

  • The book 1984 is much better than the movie. I recommend the book, the movie is a load of rubbish.

  • i have no idea whether anyone will even bother reading this but.

it is completely useless arguing with anybody about their beliefs on gods existence, simply because nothing will come out of it for both parties..

a person with christian beliefs will carry on believing in god no matter what you say, and trying to tell an agnostic/atheist/whatever that god does exist is also pointless, as it is obvious they have already made their minds up about it.

we have free will, and we are given a choice..

  • "we have free will, and we are given a choice.."

That kinda presupposes that someone or something gave us the choice.

  • maybe they did.

  • Atheists become believers everyday. Some people need a nudge or someone to make them think. You never know who you may influence by what you say to them.

  • Very true, I like to think of it as if you can argue someone into believing something, you can argue them out of it

  • personally, I see atheism as a sign of intelligence.

    but suit yourselves, sir.

  • I wouldn't call it intelligence persay, but I also don't call beliving in God intelligence either, both take faith

But believe in what you believe in

  • I agree. For some people religion is spiritually gratifying, but for others it does nothing. Just as long as people don't believe in satanism or stuff similar to that, I respect all religions

  • Exactly, if it works for you that's fine. If you want to try and share it, that's fine too.

Just don't try shoving it down people's throats and act as if you are better then everyone else

  • What's wrong with Satanism? It rarely if ever has believed in worshiping satan and last I checked they maybe have a death toll of 12 versus the millions killed by the major religions. In the end Satanism seems infinitely more peaceful then Christianity/Islam/Judaism ever was.

  • The more people try to advertise religion to me, the more repelled I am to religion.

Some "Believers" say that we are angry or hate God. But for me religion degrades appreciation of life and what's in the now, and degrades my appreciation of global diversity.

  • Then sadly you are lost.

  • For me, religion means being controlled by some people. And donate to the church.

  • This song is actually named Foreword. It is track 1 on Futureperfect.

  • Absolutely amazing video brilliant. Id love to pull the power off at a U2 gig and blast this song out instead

  • This music judgment is terrible of you. Christians, jews, and you name it, led to the problems that Ronan Harris, the lead singer,

fights against today. His music is about social justice, but not in the way your christian mind

likes to dream of. He means he wants war within... A war within western society would prove beneficial. Things are so silly here.

btw - Listen to more VNV nation. This music is actually too sane and too complex an invention, for a christian mind like yours to understand.

  • dude... i love you... heterosexually... but still... your beliefs... seem to be equal to my own...

  • seconded

  • thirded

  • BTW. Suck that poem down for the nihilistic view that vnv nation point towards. "Look over there... Oh looks like enlightenment." ooo snap.

  • The intelligent will rise, The stupid will fall once my people come to call. Heil hitler, White pride, These others are expensive to our cause. Pride in my race, just as maori's, and African-Americans have in theirs, etc. This globalist bullshit has to die, Leave them alone, Send them back to where they cam from. And then let them figure out their own problems, so we may evolve as our own species.
  • name song please?!

  • Nihilistic is not a word I would use for VNV. Nihilism is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. That is not the sense I get from their music. I find them to be in favor of social justice and morality. Moral Social Victory Not Nihilistic Vengeance.

  • Yeah. I guess nihilism can be religion in a form. But you understand what I mean about what I said. Cheers

  • I dont in the sense of they are not a self proclaimed Christian group and thier lyrics put them in a theological Grey area but thier message is non the less positive and open to interpretation. What about Cruxshadows they do dont claim a faith but thier lyrics are positive as well.

  • That line does not preclude the existence of a real God just that there are many false gods and religions. What makes the real God special is he proves his existence by personal relationship with the person. Yet it is a proof that still allows others to doubt and to seek him or reject him of their own accord.

  • I have no proof of a god not existing - yet I have less proof of any such supernatural being governing the universe.

By simple logical reasoning ouy will come to a conclusion that the universe should be a drastically different place if there was ny kind of intelligence behind its workings.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem like that.

... Anyways, my point was: Do not mistake VNV Nation for Christian music.

  • You logical reasoning is flawed, since if theres no proof theres no god, there can't be "less proof" that there is. That is logically impossible. So the chance is, and will always remain, 50 to 50.

Futhermore, the Fact that we do not recognize something as "intelligent" does not mean it is not. A dog will most probably not see húman behavior as intelligent.

Anyway, intelligence is very subjective, and we now far too less about the universe to make any conclusion, in one way or another.

  • What rubbish. Your saying that if I cant disprove something by default it must exist. Sure after you disprove that beneath the surface of the moon is a giant cream bun. Oh wait you cant disprove the cream bun? Until its disproved the odds must be 50 to 50 using your won pointless argument. How can you honestly believe without an proof, in an invisible sky-fairy who is his own father and that makes you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically kiss his ass every day?

  • First of all, I did not say anywhere that I do believe in God, or even say that I believe in God as i.e. the Bible describes him. What I believe and what not is not part of this discussion.

Furthermore, you're intentionally getting me wrong. I did not say that god exists because we can't disprove he does. I can think of alot of arguments agains the cream bunny in the moon. How many arguments do you have that disprove god?

  • Comment removed

  • Hundreds, or uh, that's right... thousands.

  • If you are saying you have thousands of arguments against the idea of god, I would like to hear one. Since I have not a single one that proves him, that would mean he probably does not exist, so it would solve a lot of questions.

Or Maybe I am getting you wrong.

  • > Since I have not a single one that proves him, that would mean he probably does not exist.

Well, either God exists or doesn't exist. There is no 'probability' to speak of since the existence or non-existence of God is something that has already happened, if you take my meaning.

Also I have no proof that ethics, the color blue or any other thing exists, at least not outside of my subjective experience. In fact I don't even have proof you are real. So I don't believe in any of these.

  • Everything either exists or doesn't exoist, but there are still pronabilities. But I see your point. I only said 'probably' because even things that are "proven" turn out to be wrong at time.

You are right about the fact that you can't actually proof anything. However, you need to make practical assumptions in order to live your life. One of these is that I assume that you actually exist. But you could always be just dreaming.

  • They say god is in the ream of the not manifest...so everything around you in a absolute kind of way is god, and you may believe or not in his existence, that isn't really important, because whatever we may say deep down we always know what is wright and what is wrong..but our ego prevails, maybe we should be a true human and do our true will and not being our ego, and then the questions will find an answer.

  • u tell that dumb christian MWAHAHAHA!!! religion is simply a way to keep people from thinking what might have REALLY happened.

  • @dddienst there is not many false gods ..god is the force you sence ..he holds no name

  • jistrath

"Do you thing you will be saved, by the gods and idols that you have made? "

    xD

  • It's not materialism that messes us over - it's the irrationality encoded in our genes we need to overcome. Human beings have a buggy pattern recognition feature - we see intention where there is only a natural mechanism. Hence, religion, superstition, the belief that there should be "more" to us-

Which is only matter and the physical interactions which govern it. No mystical forces, no souls, no big daddy in the sky.

Yet we are here. Make the best of it - it's all we have.

  • This Song and Slideshow shows us one way to go !

Not to destroy ourself, build a new World, not based on materialism !

    Love VNV ;-)

  • Questioning if God exists is the first step to salvation as if asked honestly and openly it gives God the opportunity to prove himself in a very personal way. It was songs like this that helped me to find God initially which is why I really like such intelligent lyrics.

Prayer and action work hand in hand like faith and works. This is why I focus on the action of faith in the video and see that line as a call to action vs prayer alone.

Every cry a wasted moment, until another day is lost.

  • LOL, love the video, but you chose a band that obviously is not religious. Have you heard the song "Savior" or many of their other songs?

  • Savior is interesting because it was the first song of thiers that I heard. It was a single and I bought the album anyway to happily find that the album only had it as an instrumental. I been to several concerts and they dont sing that song.

  • @dddienst - Unfortunately my dear, humanity's persistence to dream of an almighty divine being is nothing but a desperate reaction to the pointlessness of an existence that is merely accidental and results of a sheer encounter of simultaneous factors & circumstances...Yet, I do understand the benefit which your mythology provides: SOLACE in moments of great pain, which is denied to those who have the courage (and are capable of seeing and accepting the cold reality of a chaotic universe...

  • @ECCETHOR - simply fabulous - thank you - I'm speechless!

  • @dddienst As far I can understand VNV, (which is pretty deep) they do not satirically, sarcastically, target religion, but rather ignore it and look at the good behind it, for the betterment of man while indirectly pointing out the irony in God. i.e. Descent, fearless, left behind, sentinel, and very much Existence.

  • So yeah, I think that Genesis, if anything, is QUESTIONING God's existence, not following Him. Other reasons I think that VNV (or at least Ronan) is Atheistic include things like:

"No lord, no God, no hate, no pity, no pain, just me," taken from Joy

"...and what will happen? Will I dream? I am too scared to close my eyes for a second, please hold me. None can change in me these things that I believe, and I don't know what happens now. I am too scared to close my eyes," taken from Legion

  • 3. "With you I stand in hope that God will save us from ourselves." sounds as if he HOPES there is a God, even if he doesn't believe in one.

    4. "Every cry a wasted moment, until another day is lost." "Only heaven's silence for an answer" These seem to speak of the futility of prayer...

  • Genesis to me is about questioning whether God exists, or even if a God is needed.

    1. "The abyss becomes me. I wear this chaos well," sounds like "I am thriving in a world without God."

    2. "Are these not words of heresy, a venom on my lips, a poison? My spirit, impurified by everything I choose to say," sounds like "Does this mean regardless of my other actions, I am a sinner merely because I don't believe in God?" (or question God)

  • The world is what you make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Force rules the world still

Has ruled it; shall rule it

    Meekness is weakness

    Strength is triumphant

Over the whole Earth, still is it Thor's Day!"

    — Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, /The Challenge of Thor/

  • I am not sure where VNV is but I am pro God and I like their music and message. There is a bad side to religion (due to man) but the bible itself calls helping others true religion. We can bring light or darkness, death or life, into this world. Choose life.

  • Still not sure on the bands actual stance, but like I said before -- it doesn't really matter ;) Their message is more about hope (man conquering his own demons) than pushing dogma.

  • I'm pretty sure I've heard them say they want people to interpret their music themselves, and aren't aspousing any particular view either way.

  • Interesting. I haven't seen anything from the actual artists on their music. But like I said, their music is definitely filled with the concept of "hope." Heck just what VNV stands for pushes that message :)

  • just a little too "pro-god" but i like the message.

  • Not sure if VNV Nation is straight "Christian" or just pro-God, humanitarian. I guess its irrelevant since all of their music is mostly about "hope." Great video.

  • pro-god? Wut? Have you ever listened to Saviour(vox)?

  • omfg... that was amazing well done bloody well done

  • thank you for putting this together. nice.

  • A very intense piece of film and true in every sense...

  • amen, brother.

  • this made me cry :(

  • Very nice. I really like what you've done!
