@Khantikone123 Living near Salem, MA I can tell you that there are gravestones in Salem for these people, but Rebecca Nurse's body (the older woman) is actually buried in Danvers. Her family secretly dug up the body from a shallow grave and buried her on what is now known as The Rebecca Nurse Homestead cemetary in Danvers, (which used to be "Salem Village") MA.

Im not saying at all that i justify the hangings of the Salem witch trials but it has to be kept in mind that all this happened during a period of mass hysteria. The same thing was going on in England and other places as well and word would travel that the devil was around. @Khantikone123 Living near Salem, MA I can tell you that there are gravestones in Salem for these people, but Rebecca Nurse's body (the older woman) is actually buried in Danvers. Her family secretly dug up the body from a shallow grave and buried her on what is now known as The Rebecca Nurse Homestead cemetary in Danvers, (which used to be "Salem Village") MA.

Im not saying at all that i justify the hangings of the Salem witch trials but it has to be kept in mind that all this happened during a period of mass hysteria. The same thing was going on in England and other places as well and word would travel that the devil was around. Plus the puritan children were not aloud to "play" because it was seen as evil at the time. There is no point trying to put logic on something that happened in the 1600s. It was a different time then with different beliefs

@KoiNohappygolucky i didn't think the portrayal of the salem witch trials was that great in this movie, but it is still so sad the nurse died. its like an angel willingly chosing to die for being accused for being a witch. Just seems so sad because i imagine this happening to somebody during this time of life with nobody defending a good person.

There isn't really anything wrong with being a Witch. It's just People back then thought that they worshipped Satan so they thought that they had the right to do "GODS" work and get rid of them when in fact they were just sinners looking for something to do that justified their actions. Witches don't even believe in the Devil. The creepy thing is that these innocent women died on my birthday. Makes me sad.

It was joke the 13 year old girls liked to mess with, but when one girl's father witnessed it, he saw it as the work of the devil, and convinced everyone one the same. It helped his case when the girls went delusional and twitched, whispering "Tiscumbia..."

The witch trials in Europe were far worse.
Well over 100,000 people were hanged or burnt as 'witches' by witch-smellers, witch-finders and witch-hunters.
One of these cruel, evil killers was a man called "Mathew Hopkins" who hanged well over 500 women.
What gets me is how christianity continues to thrive after things like this? I mean, they accused cultures like paganism for sacrifices...yet they themselves do cruel things like hanging people after saying they're 'satans children'
