  • I was drawn to the video when I saw that you have the EXACT same guitar as me! Great job on the instruction video, we play it the exact same way. Amazing. Good job as well on the cover video, you have a voice just like Fogelberg's. I used to play it capo 1 like Fogelberg, but my voice will no longer allow me to do that either! Just for kicks, check out the cover that my son and I did together. We had fun with it. Hope you keep making videos!

  • Beautiful instructive video on one of the world's most beautiful pieces of music. Thank you very much for your time and effort! Just awesome!

  • Thank you very much for the lesson!

  • Scott, your chords and your finger-picking sounds just like the way Dan Fogelberg played and recorded it. It would be really wonderful if you can get all of this transcribed into a tablature format...intro, verses, and solo altogether. It would be a great accomplishment on your part.

  • All the idiots that say he played it with a capo, he didnt.....Look at the live videos.

  • HEY SUPER THANK YOU DUDE ESPECIALLY ON THE FIRST CHORD :)

  • Dan played it in 2nd fret with capo.. it's because he's voice is tuned in 2nd fret.. ^^

  • What a great lesson by a generous and talented teacher! Thank youl

  • Great lesson Bro... I love Dan and finger picking..

  • can you give me your tabs? cuz i its hard to follow your plucking.

  • Gotta be the best tutorial I have seen. Thanks.

  • If you listen to the original studio recording, I believe Dan played it Capo 1. I don't because my vocal range is not as high as Dan's so even a half step lower helps. Thanks for the question and thanks for listening!

  • Nice work. Good Demonstration. Thanks for sharing. Question: Why do you think other folks are playing this song with a capo (see related Youtube videos)? Yours is correct, and in-line with the original artist. claventure@yahoo.com

  • you teach well...thanks!

  • What he has shown here is good enough for a guitar player who has know chord structure itself.

But if ur just a newbee then, better study first how chords are formed and... get back to this tutorial

It's like if your a baby... feed on milk.

And if you treat urself an adult.. feed on solid foods.

THANK YOU FOR THIS TRULY "DETAILED" TUTORIAL

  • Just beautiful. Well done. Thanks

  • You play it well. Learning it slowly. Thanks.

  • madafaka rin sana!!!!lol joke lang kabayan

  • you really need to elaborate on stuff. Its really vague.

  • If he elaborates any MORE then this video grinds to a complete halt. i think the overexplaining loses the flow of where it is going. Not effective to the learning process. Too unatural. Sorry, i'm a fingerpickin guitar player myself. Some people can do it, some people can teach it. Some have a talent to do both. This guy stands in his own way with his belabored minutia! YIKES it is painful. Again, sorry!

  • thank you so much!!

  • hey man thnx for sharing this, very nice indeed!lol

  • Awesome! I'm really looking forward to your posting. You could hardly ask for a song more suited to the acoustic guitar. Thanks for responding to the viewer requests!

  • Thank you for all the positive responses. I will be posting another video regarding the verse and the chorus very soon. Stay tuned! Thanks, Scott

  • @scottdixongreen have you posted the video for the verse and chorus? where is it?

  • Thanks for this . I hope you could post more lessons for other songs

  • great but im a little confused. maybe u can put the chords on the description. just asking if you can.

  • Thanks, your lesson's just great!

Hope that we can hear the whole song in the future....

    Great stuff!!!

  • Thanks VERY much;for such a great song there is virtually no one doing a lesson on it. That was inspiring! That definitely wasn't the fake book version. It was great also the way you clarified the different voicing of the G7th chord.

Is there any way you would be willing to do another lesson on the verse?

  • dude, thank you so much. you are the only one teaching this song on yourtube. i'm gonna learn it from you. can you post the rest of the lesson please?

  • we got the basics just use your ear and make the song your own. just a thought
