Two Things. Why is the horn playing the trombone lick at the beginning and second, do they publish their music? I'm starting a quintet and these pieces would be amazing to play.

Unfortunately they haven't published any of there Jazz-Arrangements mostly writen by J.D. Shaw up to now, so I've started to transcribe them. Thats a lot of work but it's worth the time... Some of the Arrangements they play are available.

Oh man I didn't even notice. Did he just take a break for his kids or something? I saw them not too long ago with J.D., and never heard about him leaving.
But yes, J.D.'s been my horn idol for awhile. He actually arranged the Caravan and Mood Indigo we used in a marching show back in high school, so I've been show stalking him since. : P
