@LeoMishkin You are a Moron, and the only ones believing in Fairy tails are the Atheist's and Evolutionist's that Human beings trying to put a stamp claiming they have all the answered which they do not nor will they not til they meet their Maker God himself. so you know go retard yourself elsewhere
Well, I didn't call you "moron" or "retard", I guess that talking ugly things about someone you don't know is something that just "good Lord's sheeps" and real believers do.
There doesn't seem to be much reflection of the lyric in the music, apart from some pretty pathetic chord changes. There is a simplicity in the poem that is not reflected, and a rhythm to the poem which isn't heard here either. It just kind of rambles on a bit with no feel for the sonnet form or anything that Shakespeare tried to do with the rhythm. Just doesn't feel right at all.
But hey, if you like it, enjoy it. It's all subjective anyway.
I shared this on Facebook, saying "It's not often your ears hear what you believe to be the greatest music you'll ever hear in your whole existence; but I know this is." And I always will.
we were in class reading this today, and my teacher brought up this video. and i was like " OMG DAVID GILMOUR! THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME" everyone gave me the weirdest damn looks...
The combination of this sonnet, this music and this scenery is wonderful!!! After watching this video we can feel the sonnet, it´s something that makes you feel lighter, feel the value and beauty of life. Just amazing!
It's really special to hear the poem sang by someone who is able to give life to it. It seems like if the meaning of the sonnet is clearer. The instruments playing also give a different aspect to it. The interesting stuff about this version is that even if someone doesnt't understand it, it feels like something good.
@RODOLUKOS It's David Gilmour's studio. It's a boat called Astoria and is on the River Thames near Hampton Court. He bought it because he liked the scenery and light into the studio.
The most beautiful voice in the world. And all you need to listen to really. I love you Dave. No one comes anywhere near you. Thank you scoobydino, peace to you.
I can't not express words enough to see all you people how i fell inside just by listening to this song... Words by Shakespeare... but heart by David Gilmour. Thanks David Gilmour for this!

@swiggar97 Seriously. I guess 25 Douchbags thought it's a good idea. It doesn't change the fact that this song is simply amazing. enough said. :) and i am sure you agree with that
@diresword56762 "people like us"? You're probably a very nice person, but that is seriously a stupid thing to say. There is beauty everywhere, and you cannot like everything. Just because you notice that this is absolutely beautiful does not make you superior in any way, shape, or form.
@rwm28juni I wasnt trying to come across as superior or in anyform better than anyone. I agree that there it beauty everywhere. but as I said 90% of the world doesn't even realize or take to time to look at something or notice the beauty of something.
@diresword56762 again, that's not necessarily true. Everybody takes the time to find beauty in something, just not always Shakespeare. For example, I don't like abstract art, and therefore don't really see any beauty in it. That doesn't mean I don't take time to see beauty in it. No, rather, I see beauty in different things, like Shakespeare.
@dreamcaster555 Why do people like you always have to associate Floyd, or anything associated with them, especially something as beautiful as this, with getting high? Why don't you try to listen to it without being high, and I promise you it's just as good.
@tteu123 Beatles are so overrated it's a crime. Everyone picks on Gene Simmons for mass-marketing KISS. Why isn't Paul McCartney ever labeled a sellout too? Granted, the Beatles are infinitely better than KISS could ever be, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that the Beatles had little depth and would be destroyed by Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. It's not even a question.
@TheEnoxum Rating dont have anything to do with quality. Jieber is uberrated and dont have quality. Gilmour make music for those who can appreciate it, and those don't need advertising to get to Gilmour songs. Its my opinion why, I can be wrong...
This performance proves that in addition to being the greatest guitar player the world has ever known, David has the greatest voice as well. It's all about the tone. Simply amazing, and a great look at a very cool recording studio.
This song is just beautiful. Gilmour's voice is exceptionally warm and touching. But Bryan Ferry's version should be heard. The old rockers are just the best. Forever.
@6Man666666 It's very easy to write a song for children saying "we dont need no education" when you have a string of palaces and rolls royces. Did you not see what his brat of a son Charlie did attacking and vandalising the memorial to the war dead in London last week? Pink Floyd; a marxist group, polluted the minds of a generation.
@edlpirateradio Mmm I dont know mate- the Wall's lyrics was mostly Roger waters- he is an unhappy non conformist but I dont think he is a commie, as for children born of stars...well thats a whole diff kettle of fish. So many are just brats who never had attention and too much money.
That is really beautiful, all it needs is for David to lay a solo with the black strat and it would be perfect. Just joking, I am not such a philistine as to really mean that.
i have to recite this for my english class tomorrow, and pink floyd is one of my favorite bands. and this is DEFENITLY how i'm going to memorize it ;)
