Once we went into overtime, I started taking shots because I had a feeling they would lose and couldn't handle it sober. I only had two shots before lupul scored and i just remember going nuts and getting texts from caps fans bitching about the trip. This was a spectacular series.
The Flyers amazingly won this series and one over Montreal, all while playing against the refs too. The capitals. penguins, and canadian teams will always have the advantage in penalties and it is fuckin bullshit

well, if you look at the 3+ seasons under john stevens, the flyers were NEVER consistent winners. they would always find ways to fall into a huge funk or win a ton of games in a row, it was never a consistent differential. you can blame the team all you want, but after the third year and plenty of roster moves, at a certain point you have to question the coaching. i think laviolette is doing a fantastic job and this team looks better than it has in years, especially on defense.

I agree twodayslatertdl, Lupul never became the players we thought he would. I think part of it has to do with that high ankle sprain and spinal cord contusion he suffered in 2007-08 but mostly because he just disappears for long stretches throughout the season. Plus, with Giroux emerging as our franchise right winger, there really was no place for Lupul, especially with his contract. I will miss him though cause he was well liked in the locker room by the other players.

padraiga, in Lupul you're getting a future 30-40 goal scorer. He just needs to learn to be more consistent. If you put him on a line Getzlaf, he'll do good things. Last year, he played with Jeff Carter and had 25 goals and 25 assists. He's only 25/26, so he's only gonna get better. It was fun watching him play for my Flyers, but Pronger is gonna look good in Orange and Black. You'll like Lupul, though...he'll be a good scorer to add since ANA needs more scoring.

because he has the personality of a wet dish rag...and it is clear that his personality rubs off on the team way to much...theyre not intense when they need to be and theyre not upset after blowing leads and losing games...If they would have just played out the terrible year they had in 2006-07 and kept hitchcock, they would have won the cup either last year or the year before

I agree twodayslatertdl, Lupul never became the players we thought he would. I think part of it has to do with that high ankle sprain and spinal cord contusion he suffered in 2007-08 but mostly because he just disappears for long stretches throughout the season. Plus, with Giroux emerging as our franchise right winger, there really was no place for Lupul, especially with his contract. I will miss him though cause he was well liked in the locker room by the other players.

you guys drafted him and his best years were in anahiem hes a finesse play he can hit and instigate he has the potential to be a sniper with his great speed but he partys too much and he really should produce more he has great hands for puckhandling and he seems to score in situations that you need him to like this and you got sbisa whose going to be a ridiculous d man you def got the better deal in the long run

padraiga, in Lupul you're getting a future 30-40 goal scorer. He just needs to learn to be more consistent. If you put him on a line Getzlaf, he'll do good things. Last year, he played with Jeff Carter and had 25 goals and 25 assists. He's only 25/26, so he's only gonna get better. It was fun watching him play for my Flyers, but Pronger is gonna look good in Orange and Black. You'll like Lupul, though...he'll be a good scorer to add since ANA needs more scoring.

What caused the big rebound? You don't think Briere and Lupul's screen didn't affect his vision. I would blame #23 I believe that is Milan Jurcina. Your Dman has to nullify the stick in that situation, he was about as useful as a wet fart on that play.

It shows how many Caps fans are new to the game when you hear them complain about a good no call from the refs on the Kapanen goal. When you play the puck in front of the net like that sometimes bad things happen. It was a big break for us but definately not a penalty.

thenextone08, pitcrewsk8er2189 was talking about the second goal the Flyers scored in that game. Patrik Thoressen checked on of the Caps' defenseman, who got knocked into Huet, pushing him out of the crease, then Sami Kapanen scored on a wide-open net. Caps fans said it should've been goalie interference but the rule states that as long as the defenseman has control of the puck, even if he's in front of the goalie, the opposing forward is aloud to push/check him, which happened.

This was no doubt the most memorable Flyers moment that I had since Keith Primeau tied up game 6 of the ECF in 2004 and Gagne scored the game winner!
