  • Well done. I particularly like the High Street in the back ground

  • nice one mate keep it up how long did it take to do it

  • you have live steam#

  • Great Video Mate, i'd love to make one like that have a look at my vid type in FetlhamProductions in the Youtube search bar

  • cool

  • very nice! You should try making an evening lighting. Possibly by shining light at a different angle, like from the side of the layout.

  • Well put together Tom,

the only remark I would make is the speed of the trains, s little slower perhaps ?

Just an observation, not a criticism.

p.s. I have found myself that train speeds look ok when i'm videoing, but seem twice as fast on playback! , wierd.

    Thanks for posting the video,

    YJ

  • Hi YJ, Thanks for the comments.

Yes, they do move at quite a speed don't they? :-) It is wierd isn't it? They always look fine when you are taking the vid.

    I'm hoping practice makes perfect....

    Cheers

  • dont stop as quick

  • You mean the trains pulling in? Yep, I agree but I've only got the basic Hornby controller - and it's not that controllable! :-)

Cheers, thanks for your comment caz.

  • i know that they are a bit jagged but the best controller for dcc i have got is a bachmann one

  • I don't know about you but the Märklín AC Digital central station comanding the new mfx engines makes the trains run in an almost identic way as there real live conterparts!

  • Hi tom nice video by the way . I may be wrong but are you oldtom from the hornby forums ? write back pete

  • cool vid your layout is awsome. I hanvent got a layout as i need to get much more stuff to build 1 plus we dont have the room at the momoent, sometimes life sucks

  • Yep, life sucks sometimes but always think positive, it could be worse!

  • Great video once again...What you should do is make the light be dim at the start of the video and then it gets brighter so it looks like a normal day...As in real life.....

  • ahh wow the lighting realy works :)

  • Filming? Looks like video to me.

  • Thanks for pointing that out Bob, it's my age, you know. I still think in 'film' and probably always will. I've just had a look at your channel - some good stuff to look forward to seeing.

    Tom

  • It's a common use word. Many people use film and video interchangeably.

Most editing now is done on computer. Is that film or video? Or just bits of data?

  • It was made using a Sanyo video camera (SD card, not tape) and Ulead software to merge clips and convert to Windows Media.

I really haven't a clue what I'm doing, but it appears to work! Any suggestions for a better quality?

  • If you are really serious, get some photo floodlights. Lighting will improve the quality of the video. What setting is your camera on? Use the best possible quality setting.

Keep the original clips as "AVI" files for editing. You want as many video bits as possible during the editing process. When converting to Windows Media Files, use the highest quality selection. This process compresses the video and reduces the quality.

  • Great Video Tom! The lighting does work well and the music is brilliant!

  • I laughed my head off at 00:26 to 00:40 for no reason it was just the commentary!
