Govt. creates ZERO wealth, and when the fed. govt. was shut down in the '90s they realized that a majority of the employees were "non-essential" when they tried to figure out who they actually needed to keep the place running. The only candidate that does not accept funding from corporations: ensuring that he won't be bought out like all the others, 70% of his funding is from military veterans. The federal government has many duplicate programs and laws which states already have, lets save money.

Well, the way I see it 2 things can happen.
1. Ron Paul gets elected president, and I get ecstatic to see how well the next 4+ years will turn out for us. Maybe the economy will boom once again with a great president that speaks the truth and makes calls based on what he thinks is best for the country, and not for the corporations.
2. Ron Paul does not get elected, and I sit back and watch as this country implodes on itself while stupid people blame the president that THEY voted in!

Govt. creates ZERO wealth, and when the fed. govt. was shut down in the '90s they realized that a majority of the employees were "non-essential" when they tried to figure out who they actually needed to keep the place running. Cutting spending, taxes and regulations as Paul wants to do would create huge economic growth. Plus, you must not have read his plan because he wants to cut the fed. workforce by attrition not all at once.

Progressive taxation (higher percentages for higher income) has been used largely to compensate for windfall profits by wealthy investors who benefit from gov't largesse & protection on behalf of them & their often monopolistic corporations. RP wants to address this by eliminating the root cause of huge income disparity; gov't dole favoritism for the rich. It's doubtful that progressive taxation, at some level, will ever be eliminated without massive overhaul of federal tax policy.
