  • Im Trying To Be A Metallic Human Statue, Does Anyone Know Where To Buy Paint For It?

  • Street performance is a magical thing to do. If you are enticed at the live, up close and personal interaction of street performance then try it out , if not, enjoy them and tip but don't feel sorry for them - it's a real feat of self expression, of confidence, of concentration and of performance - it can be a blessing to exist in that state of performance and listen to all the good and bad things and not have to react, but just witness humanity - the good and bad - it's a beautiful thing.

  • they are not beggers, they are workers of performance street, just that! you have pitty, oh fuck you! they are professionals and know wath they doing, at most of times they are actors, only they dont work alll day!

  • todos de rabmla que trabaja con este cosa de statua es una grande mafia!!! la policia tiene que saber todo!!!! lo que haga con la gente este idiota de columbia que trabaja en bici con un romano!!!!

  • 0:35 well I would fuck that .... oh mama!!!

  • These people would be commited in the states.

Let 'em loose on the streets, I say.

    They can entertain the drones

  • i was there earlier today in fact, before flying home, and all last week, and i have seen many amusing street performers there, most of them actually very good, but to be honest, those squeaky swazzle things do get really annoying! XD

  • I was in Barcelona this year (2010) and saw them. This year they were even more creative, and it was great to watch them. My 3,5 years old daughter was fascinated (and scared in some occasions).

  • Where do you guys think these people get their stuff? The costumes, the paint, the props? BTW I actually fear the statues of Las Ramblas. They just creep me out on so many levels.

  • @Nascarrrrrrfan I liked your video Nas. I get MY stuff at thrift shops or garage sales...my make up is a profession type of make-up. Painting the clothes is a process, for myself, I want my make up (silver) and my costume to match. so many many layers of paint on my costume. I have "creeped" out a few ppl over the years..One time a guy ran across the street to get away from me..btw, his friends were rotf. We all love to perform.love to do the 'scare' factor and I try my best to make ppl smile

  • @TheSilverLady22 Yeah, you guys put on great shows. But here's the big question, how can you guys remain so still, not even seem to breathe, until someone drops a coin?

  • i love street performers, and i have no idea why you'd feel sorry for them. obviously you'd have to love what you do, and they make people smile.

certainly i'd rather be that than an accountant.

  • i was there 2 weeks ago,,, loved every single minute!

  • Fascinating. I do not find it strange. Actually, I would not mind joining them. Great video by the way!

  • i was just there last month; i enjoyed walking along La Rambla and watching them.

  • why would anyone feel sorry for them. I'd do it! it looks like so much fun. be your own boss. tax free salary. be as creative as you want. i know a guy who made $140 in 40minutes playing the violin, and he aint the best either. they make more than you think...

  • i went there once it was so fun

  • I wouldn't feel too sorry for them. They make considerably more than you ever will working for some American corporation.

  • you're saying they make six figures a year?

  • 2:27 there is a skyline in the back ground lol

  • I saw the gladiator guy. I wish I had the patience to make a costume for that I TOTALLY would do it if I had the creativity and originality to make a decend costume. I saw these guys all over Spain.

  • stark

  • I actually have a picture of myself with the fat lady in red.

    Gra-th-ias por el video. Memories...

  • Why on earth would anyone feel sorry for these people? I have been there before and it looks like so much fun. The people who are performing get to dress up and have fun, and the tourist get to enjoy something out of the ordinary.

  • just came back from salou but we saw the statues in barcelona. (could of watched them all day)

  • that's coool. i want to go there!

  • Hey, you brought back memories... I was in Barcelona in Sept. 2006 and I remember that guy upside down in a sorta garbage theme ... I really liked the la ramble performances ... and hated the card players that want to trick you to bet

  • how could you stay still for so long?

  • Oh, I loved Barcelona! It and Santa Barbara (which I live near) seem so similar in so many ways, and both are at the top of my list of prettiest cities I've been to.

  • Wow, amazing people! ... Maybe I should pick up street performance?

  • wow yo voy a hacer eso en mi escuela

    increible!

    chauU!

  • I saw this statue of this dude who dressed up as a cat and hid in a bin. When people put money in his pot, he'd jump out! :D Funny stuff :P

  • they do this i argentina as well and i can tell you alot are people who do it for fun and to raise money for comunity lunch rooms that make sure thousands of children get three meals a day. As for barcelona i dont know but they might have similar goals

  • wah! i love barcelona! especially the architecture. do u no if they've finished that cathedral? i haven't been there in years.

  • Sagrada Familia, It's STILL being built, and with no projected end date so far.

  • i work as a living statue in Tampa Bay area of Florida. I make a very good living out of it...I've worked trade shows, festivals and charities. We do put an enormous amount of work into costumes and props. I'm amazed at the tips that the Europeans get as apossed to the American tips. To all that are statues, I wish you sunshine, peace and many tips. God Bless.....the silver lady, sterling ... clearwater, florida

  • @TheSilverLady22 Where on Earth do you get your stuff, the props, paint, costumes? BTW This may confuse you, but Im sure you'll understand. I actually fear human statues. I know they're only there to put on a show but, they kinda creep me out. Hehehe. :P

  • These guys are awesome!! I don't know how they stand still for so long.

  • You feel sorry for them? They're like any busker, most of them are probably doing it more because they love it than because they have to. The reason people become human statues is the same reason anyone commits to any artistic pursuit - they'd rather do it and barely scrape by (or, being more realistic, often not scrape by at all) than work a 9 to 5.

  • I saw these dudes one time on Las Ramblas who were dressed like devils.. So he comes over to me and I gave him a quarter from the US... He bit it to see if it was real and threw it back at me LOL

  • Hey, thanks for uploading this.. and your commentary was totally cool

  • wow this is cool, and i'd definately prefer these guys than the homeless we got back home getting pissed off when we don't give them more than 5 bucks.

  • I saw the guy at 0:20 this week in barcelona

  • awsome vid dude those ppl are totally awsome XD
