Hi, please can you explain what the "micro chambers" are that you removed,what they do and why they are placed between particular pages and not between all pages ( You mentioned in your TMNT video that you expected an anti-aicd micro chamber on the inside of the front and back covers). Thanks.

@ForViewingOnly Micro chamber sheets slow the decompostion of paper by absorbing free radicals such as acid (from the paper's chemical makeup), As a side benefit, these m.c. sheets also neutralize undesirable scents like smoke.CGC places the sheets between the 1st page/ front cover & the last page/ rear cover. The gasing off of the cover is stronger than the pulp paper inside. In my experience, PGX places these chambers sometimes where CGC also places them and other times between other pgs.

@chenbur Total Invested: ~$33 & .60 for the comic (I'm its original owner). I can expect someone to pay about $100 or so for this book at this grade. A PGX'd book in 9.0 wouldn't have gotten even the $15 dollars I paid for encapsulation back. I'm glad I took action. Thanks for viewing!

how do you send your comics out to be graded by cgc whats the process

@Marconius17 I send to CGC through USPS flat rate shipping box. Sandwiching 6-7 comics at a time between 2 stiff cardboard sheets cut to protect the corners and edges. I then plastic bag the bundles in the box for that extra protection from moisture. I max out the insurance of any tier on the submission sheet since CGC charges me the same amount for insurance regardless...I found that out by talking to a CGC rep at a CON a few years ago. cool, woops start again lol.  so why do people open them up once they are graded. i only have one book graded now, but i plan to never open any that i have graded. ill read the stories somewhere else. good to see a vid from you , its been a while : )

I'm opening the PGX'd books to have CGC grade them. These are my doubles which I plan to resell. CGC'd books carry a stronger sense of grading integrity; buyers prove this by paying higher prices for those books. There are a few books I plan to keep in holders no matter what, like my Four Color #16 .

@FroComb Your right that CGC carries a stronger sense of grading integrity and that's generally because they grade more strict. So you will more than likely get lower grades on your books. So after paying the grading fees plus shipping, do you think you'll actually profit anything?

1 non-color breaking spine tick & a slight wear to the lower left front corner. (These were my notes.) I'm not sure of any reason behind PGX's 9.0.But I remember when several of my books (submitted to PGX at the same time) were returned by them with grades wildly differing from my own (ranges swung -1.5 to +2.0) forced me to be more critical of potential future submissions. The resulting (post PGX) CGC grade of this issue: 9.6 Off-white to white pages. serial # 01586553006

@JuicersSuck Invested ~$33 & .60 for the comic. I typically will save enough to send 30 comics to the grader in bulk to get the discounted prices. I also get the 10% off from sending thru vendor websites like CPG and Pedigree Comics. For this book, I paid PGX $15 to grade and with the bulk shipping about $ 1.25 per comic to ship to PGX and the return. Submitting to CGC was under modern tier before the price increase: $14.40 (includes 10% off) plus shipping to CGC and return (about $1.25). P ~$70
