this was filmed at the sage gateshead2mark the 10th birthday of the angel of the north and weather u like the angel of the north of r not it is still an icon 4the northeast and1of the best in the u.k like i think the angel of the north is beautiful and is a symbol of the northeast and the north as a whole as well like

the film is kind of a short trip, from the Sage to the angel by way fo the council chambers.. we also chose three bakcdrops that had architectual interest,a nd were kind of letter shapped..all the best.

With regard to your comment below, wouldn't it be better to make it the best for the people viewing it, rather than fun those doing it? Be fair to the poem, not the people? This is meant to be a constructive comment, even if it doesn't come across that way.

No, thank you for the constructive criticism.. The people invovled are community groups, and basically projects are constructed through a negotiation of what I want to do, and what they want to do, to keep it fun for them. None are paid or anything like that.

Hi, thanks for you comment.. I wanted people in their everyday clothes, as the piece was kind of spontaneous and I didn;t want it to become overly staged. i also wanted all those invovled to have fun doing it, and I htought dressing them in a uniform colour took away from their fun of just turning up and getting involved. Also it's a negotiation with the people invovled and I didn;t want to put them on the spot.

It would have been interesting to see the making of this video. Seems like a lot of work to coordinate the people for letter shapes. I like how the people are involved and the various backgrounds.

I think the different work clothes are a superb idea, but the background has too much clutter/contrast making the subjects difficult to make out. If they stood on the horizon of some form, especially next to the angel, then you would see them against the sky. Also there was little thought in lighting, which is all photography is about. A cloudy afternoon light isn't creative, couldn't you have done it at dawn or dusk with reflections of sunrise in the glass?

ahh if only I had that much control... when working with communty groups etc.. it was really hard to get all the different people together... I basically respond to when they are available, especially those with jobs.

Hi, I don't think this is featured unless you mean the 100th comments uk it was for one day... I purchased a licenese for the music for the short... it was pretty easy and cheap to do, if you type in classical music liscence for films you'll see lots of sites that will lease you music... hope this answers your question..thanks

But please dont think I'm just being negative, as the video has got a lot of qualities, but for comments i want to show just the negatives, as i dont feel even for my own work that "looks great" "well done" "very inspired" really helps me improve my own work for the future as i need to know how i can improve from other peoples opinions :).

yes, but youtubers usually delete all the constructive criticism they receive and then they wonder why no one gives them a media or singing contract, if they're not willing to accept criticism, they will never improve.

Great effort, but not very creative at all. The words were very difficult to see and in some cases impossible, it would have been much better to use different types of effects rather than the same type that is being used by the largest TV advertising campaigns at the moment for big brother, which shows its not really creative, just copying somebody else. If you used different creative techniques to show words rather than the same one all the way through, it would have been amazing.

i think the big brother advert uses aerial views of people who are lying down on the floor, this is different...people are standing upright, but i agree its impossible to actually read the words, its too fast, i didn't know they were making words until after 2 mins. maybe they should have all worn the black clothing.

Well, art obeys conventions only when it wants to; and boundaries to an artist are a challenge to see what's on the far side.

This is really cool but not all the words were readable. Perhaps you should have made all the people involved wear the same colours (for tops and trousers) - colours that would stand out more from the background. Still a wicked video though. Good job.

Great work. I really like how you have them going into the shape, it gives us a moment to see it and for the word to register. My favorite site for this piece was the winged statue, it was more linear and simpler so the eye could see the word shapes... (or maybe because it was later in the flick I could see it more clearly because I was getting used to viewing the word figures...)
