  • 0.16 lol the seven car the blue one is slides go Newman !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ""IF YOU CAME HERE TO SEE CARS FLIP, GO HOME"

    REALLY Ryan??

WOW and here I thought that race drivers were fan friendly.

  • @SAMMYJS991 Hell yeah. U really wanna watch a race just to see cars flip? That's insane. The drivers are extreme fan friendly (most) but come on

  • @SAMMYJS991 he's referring 2 the BS no bump draft racing from that race, but i see ur point

  • @Rusty2FTW now that they have allowed bump drafting, everyone's bitching anyway. I've been a NASCAR fan for a long time, but I have to admit I'm not too proud of fellow NASCAR fans. People bitch no matter what NASCAR does, I think it's a trend with the post 2001 fans or something that they HAVE to bitch about something.

  • @SAMMYJS991 fans that go to watch crashes aren't really fans. NASCAR would be better off without them. Glad to see most of the races this season not having many wrecks even though the racing has been pretty good.

  • 29 driver is a selfish piece of fuck for not getting out to do anything to see if the driver was ok

  • @Evak103

i would say it's more likely that he saw the safety crews and ambulance arriving and realised they would be of a lot more help than him

  • @Evak103 Well if he got out of the car, he'd be done. He did the right thing by letting the safety crew do its job.

  • welcome to Talladega mofo

  • what happened to roof hatches? it could have helped when they rolled the car over. the last time a car had a roof hatch i think was when Michael Waltrip won @ Talladega and got out of his car through it and having fun with it.

  • awesome, im a lonely 17 yr old guy

  • no your a fake lolz

  • wow thats a big one, is shows wat a bunch of brain dead rednecks get up to, an oval track so just keep turning left like retards well l guess with that small of a brain they could never drive on a normal race track, and those heaps of useless crap they drive, fuk you yanks need to get a life and realize the grand ol USA is just another 3rd world country full of dumb fucks,go get another burger you fat fucked nation.

  • uhh i am really bored and need some action... Anyone?

  • I'm so pissed Ambrose was involved.

  • Like i said, no matter what, shit happens. Either you run with plates and wipe out a whole field and still have cars flipping, or have them going close to 220 and have them going to the stands

  • we can all complain about the safety of this course but the fact is its one of or the fastest track in nascar sorry i a novice but wat do you want for them to do slow down round the corners but then thats not racing then is it ...end of it very dangerous motor racing dont matter if its nascar or f1 its wat makes the sport great

  • want them to slow down? what do you think the restrictor plates (which he complains about) do? IT SLOWS THEM DOWN. It slows them ALL down to the SAME speed, resulting in 43 cars all racing at 180+ mph with a couple inches door to door.

The problem isn't that they're going too fast. The problem is that they are all forced into going the same speed and are bunched up into an unmanageable pack. Take out the restrictor plate and the field will spread out, reducing the risk of wrecks like this

  • Even if they spread out and it prevents crashes happening more often, the extra speed makes the crashes that do happen way worse than this. If a car slowed down to 190 does the above, think of what a car going 215 will do.

Edwards almost ended up in the grandstands in the Spring race and he was going about 20 mph slower than he would've been without a restrictor plate. That's the dilemma: if they go faster, the wrecks are less, but are more severe.

  • actually he was going 50mph slower than he would have had there not been restrictor plates. Rusty Wallace ran at Tally unrestricted a few years back and he ran 230 mph without having the pedal to the metal. They would easily be going 245 in the draft if full throttle without the plates

  • didnt jeff burton do that to?

  • in 2005 NASCAR sanctioned a test with Penski, Newmans old team and he and Rusty were clocked at over 250mph on the track alone!

SOMETHING needs to be done. if it means no longer using Talladega, then so be it. the drivers don't like it, the teams don't like it, and TRUE race fans don't like it. If you want a TRUE test of driver skill replace Talladega with a dirt track. ARCA has run on the dirt in the modern era. Why not have these guys prove they can drive rather than just ride around?

  • its not the COT or the racing , its the track.. since it was repaved handling was not an issue.. it allowed cars to run comfortably nose to tail.. u dont see bump drafting in the corners in daytona... because the track is too slick to do so..they will have to get used to this untill talladega loses all its grip

  • it's always been the track. NASCAR saw Bill Elliot pop off a 200+ mph lap there and freaked out and brought out the restrictor plates. Those things cause more issues than they solve.

Lose Talladega and add a dirt track to the mix and you'll REALLY see who the drivers are and who are just wheelmen. Take a look at JR when he went the the Prelude race a couple years back... he tagged the wall on his outlap for his first practice session. WTF? He's never been on dirt and had no clue about it.

  • but he sucks anyway ?

  • if you were a true fan you would know that nascar is not a dirt sport and a greater half can drive dirt

  • know your history there junior. NASCAR STARTED on the dirt tracks. the first daytona races were on the beach course, and until the mid 70's they ran dirt tracks in the "grand national" series, now known as the cup series. I'd rather go to a dirt race and watch those guys and gals run 3 wide, sideways in the turns than that freight train sunday that they called a race.

  • no shit i know they USUED to drive dirt but they dont the drivers still drive dirt in outher series so if you wana watch dirt dont watch nascar simple

  • I wonder if his left-rear fender coming apart had something to do with the car getting that high off the ground. I'm sure it affected the aero somehow

  • ryan moans but he races in the pack if he dont want this to happen to him he should be watching it instead rich lucky bugger i am jealus so jeaulous i cant even spell it or be at the back like jimmie jimmie was craping himself all raceday and i understand that if you crash here a lot you gonna crap yourselve

  • I am not even sure what you are trying to say.

It looks like this wreck could have been avoided if they were allowed to bump draft through the corners.

Also, about 5 or so laps before this both Newman and Stewart were running in the top 5 on the bottom line, but everyone moved up to some higher lines and unfortunately left both of them hanging out to dry. And they started to fall to the back and then this happened. Unfortunate.

  • Nascar should leave everything the same, this shit is awesome!!

  • I actually think the wings improve the backwards aerodynamics over the wedge type spoiler ini terms of safety. This time I have a hunch it was the spoiler flap which deployed that contributed to the flight. It acted like an airliners spoilerons and created unequal pressure on top of the car and it lifted off.

  • i thought a little differently but it means the same thing

    agreed

  • the wings got to go....atleast at the plate tracks. they are made to go forward but when going backwards that fast...

  • than god for the xtra head room in these COT's, jus think it was michael waltrips idea to flip the car over do the driver could crawl out!

  • this one or carl's..what was worse?

  • GO ARMY!!!

  • Really glad he was able to walk away from this.

  • no matter what, talladega will still find a way to kill someone

  • hasnt happened yet

  • Comment removed

  • ruuf

  • HOLY SHIT! WOW! I agree. I am so glad he is okay. HUGE accident!

  • why is this rated 1 star?

  • 2:24 Maan he said he was okay like nothin!!!!

  • man im glad he was ok.

  • I think the "no bump drafting in the turns" caused this one. As the leaders started to enter turn 3 they had to check up so Helton "could see daylight" and caused this one. Also that damn wing on the back seemed to cancel out the effect of the roof flaps.

As the Talladega race in April showed these cars are safe now let the drivers race!!

  • exactly! Every time NASCAR makes a rule at superspeedway tracks to make for safer racing, it just seems to get worse! NASCAR, if you can read this, just LET THE GUYS RACE!!! They are gonna wreck no matter what, and you cannot do anything to prevent it! Lets see what they do next!
