  • Oh Aria/Eira, we hardly knew thee.

  • I searched that track for aaaaaages.

    Finally ;_; Found.

  • WHO THE F*** DISLIKED THIS!?

  • @0Keyblade a call of duty fanboy?

  • @0Keyblade Someone who have diferent tastes. Although why did the person even come here, only to dislike it is beyong me though.

  • @0Keyblade you

  • It makes me feel so sad, so much happiness and other emotions at the same time

    This is epic

  • @toshinub absolutely ;;D

    Deep melancholy mixed with longing.

  • If I compare FF3 and 4 with FF13, I laugh...Games that uses less than 200 mb on DS cartridge are thousands of times better than a 10000000 gb game. But then I realize that old-style Final Fantasy games are in extinction and so I cry.

  • In my DS the song isn't played with the same instruments O_o

  • 3D try to be realist

    2D try to be magic

  • that's totally not entirely true

  • My death will be in 2 minutes 9 seconds

  • this video, watching it remind me of my old account before I dedtled it. Ahh... I love this song

  • I think games do better when they have simplistic graphics complimented by extraordinarily beautiful music and storyline.

Of course, everything Team Ico has made is an exception. :D

  • @YourStupidFantasies true, I started caring more about graphics when I learned how to do 3D models in PC.

  • As long as there's a kick-ass soundtrack (which this game evedently has) and interesting characters (which were... alright in ffiii just no where near developed enough) I'm generally hooked on a game.

  • If me and that one disliker were on the invincible... i'd push him off, literally...

  • 1 Dislike...ONE DISLIKE!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!!!

  • why this song is playen only one time in all the game? is so sad, this is one of the best song from final fantasy sagas

  • I have a saved game right after you go to the surface world for the first time just to listen to this song.

  • All this about graphics... I agree with it. Don't get me wrong, graphics do have importance. I'm not gonna play something that looks like a huge mess and I can't see what things are, but I'd much rather have a great soundtrack and timeless storyline than cutting-edge graphics.

  • Reminds of a song from Baten Kaitos.

  • very nice song, very pretty and sad.

  • Nowdays videogames? Some invincible rough cunt who smokes in the midst of a battlefield while super huge mechs wreck havok around him? Nah, I prefer the qualities of heros finding who they are one step at a time, and even admitting they are afraid to proceed.

  • hey guys let's eat scallops i'm up for scallops ok

  • @OniLinkPower22 do they have scallops when time is frozen?

  • @MrTreecko OF COURSE BUT THEY ARE ALL FROZEN :'c

  • @OniLinkPower22 I'm up for scallops! Are they magically frozen, or just frozen?

  • 1 dislike

  • @OniLinkPower22 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • so peaceful

  • i lisson to this song and relaxed and it drift me in and it felt like i was sailing at a sea that was alone

  • yes indeed, making smooth graphix requires time. writing musical art requires a mastermind.

  • the best song on FFIII!!!

  • @BlackIndigo25 agreed

  • FIFIFFF

  • For glorious games like those in the Final Fantasy series, you must look past the graphics and give full attention to the story...no matter the game...

  • .....i have been wondering if a song like this...........

Seems like it did..is it just me or is isn't it just a sad song.....

  • @DimensionKnightX i alwaysthought it was that girl whos on the boats theme because its playing when you meet her, i miss how the song goes once its beenpast the moment though D:

  • @Kielite yeah..it's a good song..

  • know what i've always wondered? y'know how in the darkness, everyone in it was frozen in time? well what if you never got saved from it? and that stopped time last for all eternity, would you feel it? would it feel like being dead and unable to move but unable to think, but still able to feel? i mean, it's just weird, not knowing your frozen in time but being frozen in time for all eternity, what would it feel like? i mean, if your saved at some point, you'd immediatly skip there in a blink. but

  • @killabun3 You wouldnt feel anything. You never know, that could have happened to us and we were unfrozen thousands of years later, with nothing changed because everything was frozen! I mean, it could have happened while typing! If it never gets unfrozen, well thats that! It would all just remain frozen, and we wouldnt think a word of it. In the game, nobody was even aware it happened, despite the fact it was like that for a long time.

  • I like this version too, but I feel like NES one is better, with clear and somewhat cold sound.

  • If I meant 6, I would have said 6, but...hmm...if my eyesight...nope, it says 4! =D

  • no it means that the number you have dialed is not in service

  • Oh right, forgot that I'm too "mundane" in thinking the FF series is even a good RP series, whoops!

  • what happens if you bite an apple?

  • Someone hears, someone hopefully swallows and doesn't choke, someone gets a minor dose of electrolytes, someone gets their ass kicked for chewing one of my apples, rrrrr

  • sorry i choked on one

  • Sentimental song

  • This was the ultimate "save the world" game. These days the games are full of melodrama.

  • i still think pong is the greatest game ever

    nothing can compete with pong!

  • Haha, your sarcasm is duly noted...

  • what sarcasm was there?

the brave adventure of one ball having to go on a perilous and precarious journey of self enlightenment

  • aw come on don't be so coy :)

    Riveting tale though.

  • i've only played this one ff, and i disagree, it was one of the best games i've ever played, but the best save the world games, in order from 1-5 5 being the lowest, are these

    5. a link to the past

    4. ocarina of time

    3. final fantasy 3

    2. twilight princess

    1. kindom hearts 1 and 2, they tie

  • I won't disagree with your ranking, but I just wasn't really into the zelda games so I didn't play them enough to judge.

  • @killabun3 i'd say about the same, but I never beat a link to the past (im stuck in the ice temple) and i'd switch around Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.

Fun fact: Ocarina of time was chronologically the first zelda to occur (in zelda's fictional timeline) As in the other games, they tell tales of an ancient hero who saved the world. They didnt in Ocarina of time, but instead told of the golden power.

  • Second best next to 4

  • beep boop

  • R2D@, watch your language, always having sex with robotic strangers! =P

  • bzzt

  • i luv yhis song

  • ...I said 1-III not IV-XII

IX is probably my favourite game because of it's rich and depp storyline.

  • same here

  • 「果てしなき大海原」

    永遠の海をイメージした悲しいメロディです。

    「水の巫女エリア」と一緒に流せば、真の悲しみは目の前ですね。

  • so peaceful.

  • FINAL FANTASY 3 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite song of the series! Shame you can only listen to it for a short while during the game. =(

  • they should've used this as a theme for someone who died

  • Comment removed

  • oh,this song is beautifull 5/5

  • Beautiful, yet eerily sad...

  • this is one of the best themes that i ever heard in all FF saga... ITS GREAT :p

  • This is likely the most beautifully eerie theme in the game. I mean the surface world has sunken into a dark abyss and yet this lovely music plays, still it does add that sort of 'I'm alone here' feeling to it. 5/5 :D

  • no its not wrong to state your opinion at all, i just wonder why you feel the need to rate the game on todays standards. its like 18 years old.

  • It's because it WAS re-released with barely any changes from the original where it is subject to criticism by today's standards. People who have never played Final Fantasy who play this game might think it's a bit mediocre and corny.

  • I would hope anyone playing the remake would realize that it is in fact a 3D version of a very old game. I would hope no one would see the Gold Rush on DVD and wonder why there is no talking.

  • Unfortunately, some people are like that. =/

  • sadly thats true.

  • unfortunately there are people who didn't get into the series until its later half who view the earlier games as unimportant because they dont stand up to todays standards (superficially). it bugs me. because my first ff was FF4. that didnt stop me from going back and fully appreciating and enjoying the previous titles. infact I loved them. I love all of them.

  • True, people now adays just see the graphics. Back then when all ya had was a nes and up the story is what made the games. Sadly most of todays games lack that.

  • Personally I don't understand the graphics hysteria - what's so cool about polygons and animations in the long run?

Wouldn't you expect music and story to make a greater impression on people?

I will never understand why the video game developers love graphics so much that it is given priority to everything else.

"Look! I made kickass graphics!" -.-

  • Hm... I don't know... I find IX, X, and XII to have decent plotlines.

  • 9 and 12 actually had very strong plot, for myself the intense focus on the character development of tidus/yuna was too formulaic/brogin and on top of this both of the voice actors were beyond horrid. They managed to get a hell of a lot better in 12, leagues apart if you ask me.

  • That's true.

Vivi's monologue and soliloquy really took me in by surprise. He was by far one of the deepest characters in FF9.

Oh! FF6 was actually pretty intense, too. In the sense that it would seem everyone is a protagonist in a way (Even though the primary focus had been Tina, Locke, Celes, and Edgar)

  • It's a little obvious:

flashy, lighting graphics make people murbling: "woooooooh"

and furthermore, killer graphics make more money for the hardware industry (and so on with the software one)

  • i guess it's just to match the music and the gameplay, i mean, imagine the wii with 8-bit. i don't know how it would work. and imagine this playing on 8-bit ff3.

  • @Laurelindo

There are certain graphic that I think can help games though, mainly for a nostalgic effect. I love Midway's old Gauntlet Dark Legacy graphics. I also like the Legend of Zelda OOT's graphics. (And many others)

But regarding to new releases of video games, I completely understand you.

Although I do not mind having great quality music. (I still love 8-bit sound.)

I believe graphics is like an art, no one graphic is bad, it's a style. (But there can be unappealing graphics as well.)

  • @Laurelindo

There is one game that I do play, and play again because of the graphics. (also mainly the music)

That game is Mirrors Edge, It just has an amazing atmosphere, beautiful art, And amazing music!

One of my favorite video games.

  • Graphics can certainly add to the atmosphere of a game, I actually think FF6 is much more fun on my laptop since on that one the graphics are more "full" and the characters are slightly chubby, contrary to on some computers where it almost looks NES-ish and the characters are way to thin.

This is more technical though, graphical art can make a huge impression, like in Ico, Mirror's Edge and The Longest Journey.

  • @Laurelindo

i would of been happy with just 16 bit graphics.

  • @Laurelindo Not only do I agree, I also think that 2-d graphics done well, are actually better than 3-d.

  • @Laurelindo I know, right? Whenever I want to talk about a game with one of my friends, from ANY year, the first question is always "Are the graphics good?" -.-

I give VERY low priority to graphics when playing a game, that's why I'm able to actually ENJOY it, not just play it... =)

  • All I know is that the NES version of FF3 was a ton better than the DS one. Just sayin.

  • @TranceCore3 At least they finally released it outside of Japan. I'm just glad to own ANY version of the game.

  • @Laurelindo Graphics can have an impact on gameplay, at least up to a certain point. These days, it's just about making the game look slightly more real which does almost nothing for games.

  • The reason why developers focus so much on graphics is because that's what gets a casual gamer to buy a game. They look at it and say "Ohhhh this game looks cool" then they go off and buy it, and whether the game is good or not, it will receive high ratings because the people who bought the game bought it for the graphics. Look at EDF. That game is probably the most fun shooter you'll ever play, but the graphics aren't too great, but the single player is fun as hell, and there's replay value.

  • @TranceCore3 Dude, I know right. It's not the graphics that determine the game, it's the playability and the storyline. Which is why Call of Duty is the most retarded game series ever devised by mankind, there's no storyline. It's all just shooting random shit.

  • No gameplay made the games, FF1-3 had pretty generic story lines.

  • Obviously you never played 2.

  • I have played every FF game and 1-2 were generic, although admitedly 2 less so but it was by todays standards cliche'd to buggary.

  • by today's standards cliche'd because of all the games that copied its success. Don't judge it by the standards of the times in which we now live.

  • sure

  • Are you fucking kidding me?

Only narrow-minded people judge old games by today's standards.

Saying FF1-3 were cliche'd because of all the other better RPG like it is like saying the Model-T Ford is cliched because of all the better cars that are available.

Not only is it wrong to say that because the game (and car) came out first, it laid the foundation, and ENABLED the creation of better games (or cars) because of its groundwork.

Judging FF3 by today's standards is just unintelligent.

  • did you take that sarcastically?

    I was agreeing with you

  • i only played three, on both versions, but i looked into one and two..... not something i'd really want to play. three was great though. which is weird, cause they 3 games aren't too different but still, three rox, 1-2 sux

  • @shade231 Too true. I myself notice that with the increase of graphic quality, the shorter the game. FF13 had amazing graphics, and yet, the first disc of Tales of Symphonia was about as long, maybe longer, than 2 of those ones.

  • My first FF was VII (although my first console was a NES) and I find that I like the older Squaresoft games more than the Square Enix ones from the last few years.

But maybe VII is old school now :-P

  • I don't understand why you feel the need to say how much you hate the game. Even if you say its fine if we don't, it still feels a little unwarranted. We all know that if an old game was released today, it would not get good reviews but where's the point in saying that?

  • I don't have too, but I do anyway. I'm just stating my opinion. Is that so wrong? ZSdDtdFSDHjBCXZDFdghcvnnbbnbv ):

  • I enjoy the remakes because it gives me a chance to play games that were around, became popular, but then were left behind before I was born.

  • it seems unfair to judge an old game by today's standards. even if it has been rereleased with some special features.

  • For the time, it was good, but obviously if a company would release the same game today it would probably get a lot of hate.

  • i thought this was one of the best for the time. the music was really good, the original mythology about the crystals was really good and the job system was very dynamic. i played it on the famicom so for the time it was released in 1990, it was a very engaging experience; more so than the first two.

  • For the time, yes, but now without the limitations of the NES plots can develop much further than anything FFIII could have done. I have to agree that it was better than the first two FF's.

  • I didn't hate this game...but I have to agree with you somewhat. It's definitely my least favorite of the series (at least the ones I've played so far-three through six).

  • hey this game rocks!

  • In comparison to the other Final Fantasies, it's not that good. IMO

  • yeah the battle system isn't as good but i like the story weapons magic and characters

  • The story is one of the weakest in the series, in my opinion, but if you like it that's fine with me.

  • cool

  • Gawd, I hate this game.

  • This and Dolga and Une are the best songs on the soundtrack...

  • i jst wona find the song were its like a scale on the piano or an arpegio thing cart find it :(

  • I loooove this song ^^

  • I love the song, but I loathe the game.

  • the game is easy ^^

  • Well, not overly so, IMO. Espesially if you take the Iron giant-boss. Leveling up to take him down takes hours, and hours as in like, 20 or so? At least... And what do you get? Oh yes, 99 999 gil and 99 999 exp! Yey, I just have (seriously) 7 824 330 gil from leveling up! I mean, what the hell? What about a weapon or something?? And he's the hardest boss in the game, what'm I supposed to do with exp? Bleh, stupid boss...

  • you know i just noticed... the cover for this game is different from mine. Mine has the final fantasy III banner in the middle and its completely white. This one has a design...

  • This is the japanese cover. The english cover is different for some reason..

  • oh I see now. thanks for telling me! ^^

  • You sure about that? I'm from Norway, but I've got that cover too.

  • "That cover" in this context being the cover showed in this video. Just to clear up possible misunderstandings^^

  • i heart this song a lot!

  • FYI - Nobuo Uematsu is the original composer of this song. Sekito and Kawamori worked on the arrangement for the new DS version, but the song is Uematsu's work.

  • I am aware of that, just forgot to put it up thar

  • I thought this was known as Elia's theme...then again that was years ago...still pretty awesome!

  • Actually, THIS is the world map theme when you get Elia. Elia, Maiden of Water is a different song, but close.

  • This is the world map theme while the world is still covered in water.

Elia's theme actually has the same atmosphere as this song. :D

  • thats a cool song... WoW...

  • I have this song on PSP. But its the original version, not DS one. The site claims its the real deal DS one, but I beg to differ. I've played and beat the game, I think I'd recognize the music. Good vid though. Definite 5/5. Too bad 11/5 isn't an option.

  • i like

  • I fell in love with his song the first time I heard it in FF3. <3

  • Same.

  • I've got an extra save file just so I can fly around on the airship with Aria over the beautiful water and listen to this song =)

  • That's exactly what everyone SHOULD have.

This song is just that good.

  • Who's your fav character?

I love Aria D: And Refia, she has a good personality too.

  • Lawl, I never really liked the characters. You could pretty much replace them with cardboard cutouts.

  • Haha,at least they're better than NES, where they actually are cardboard cutouts (quadraplets under Topapa. What are the odds of a quadraplet all ambidexterous? :P).

This song is really beautiful. Too bad not more people know about this thanks to FFIII never hitting North America (officially) til the DS version...

  • I actually enjoy the 4 quadruplets in the original version. You can be creative with them, but now the characters in the DS remake have birthed...*gulp*..FANFICTION

  • Refia is halarious.

    "Where is everyone?"

"Maybe they're out pillaging like good soldiers of doom." XD

  • Luneth is all like "HAY GUYZ, LETS GO ONZ ANZ ADVENTUREZ."

  • I thought Desch was a pretty cool guy. eh cast Thundara and didn't afraid of anything.

  • lolmeme

  • Ah, thank you . Did you finish the game by any chance :P

  • Aye. Except only once.

  • Beautiful relaxing song. It reminds me of Aria/Elia. D:

Thank you so much for putting this up.

Say, where did you download this?

  • I downloaded it off of blue laguna. Search it on google =P

  • thank you, OniLinkPower, from the bottom of my heart. I was looking for this song for a looong time, it is definitely the best song in ff3. I remember when flying on the surface world with this song played along, it just kind of calms me down :)

  • It took me forever to find, since I didn't know the name of the song XD

  • I listen to this song when I go to bed by using File 1 where I am still outside the Cave of Tides.

  • Since it really is a relaxing song

  • this song is so sad!

  • Hooray ! That was my favourite song but i couldn't find the name, thank you !

  • It took me hella long to find this too! Your welcome though =P

  • I like this song. The Dark Crystal song is much prettier though X3
