  • wow that comb over is distracting me

  • Filmed with a slice of ham

  • coolist bald guy ever!

  • Its so true what he said.I am a big fan and when i first heard adore i felt strange

about the use of drum machine and samples and a few years later everybody

    using them in rock.

  • I think he is a musical genius.

  • adore was a great record...then it all went downhill

  • I'm just watching this to see how billy talks and I like it. Seems very sharp and intelligent

  • i love you billy. that's all

  • How orange is Tom Snyder? :L :L

  • I want to start a band!

  • @silkpill need a bassist? lol

  • @tintin4561 Did you listen to my music? Check it out! And yes, but do you live in Montreal?

  • I want to start a band!

  • @FuturePheonix first of all, what the hell do you mean by "using full stops"? and i do not use capital letters because it's just easier to type that way. if i was wrighting an essay for school, yes i would use capitalization. but for youtube and replying to stupid comments like your's, i don't feel the need to use correct capitalization.

  • hey! the quality is like it was 10 yrs ago!!!! lmao

  • Billy Corgan is such a good guy and musician, I'd marry him in a heartbeat

  • Billy is the best musician ever. I listened to him all across America while putting the Libertarian Party on the ballot, and reading Kurzweil's and Drexler's books. Magic times, dying times. I'd like Billy to lend some of his publicity to the cause of jury rights. He's smart enough to understand the ways juries have been gradually destroyed. This makes all other tyranny possible, so his involvement in the issue could save millions. 1.2 million people in prison for victimless crimes now...

  • @libertarianjury

I just called him, he's gonna get right on that.

  • I hate people

  • Billy is the #1 person on the whole planet I'd lve to meet.

He's so freaking talented, you gotta love him.

  • wat a lAme idot journalst[

    farid brb says:

but Corgan Cool up to a poiibt for me

  • i love billy corgan

  • the interviewer keeps goign on about friction... can't he tell that it was just a sweet story, not about having FRCITION?!

Billy comes off as a twat to some people. I don't think he's a twat, i just think he's intelligent, and it comes off in the wrong way.

  • I remember this watching it at 12 midnight that time

  • What a fuckin twat Corgan!, Id like to throw a javelin at him, ignorant jank

  • He did a free concert in Minneapolis for this tour. It was great.

  • I was there as well that was a really cool show and very memorable I still think that is an underrated album

  • looks like pt.1 had trouble too

  • fix this shit..

  • tom snyder is so damn boring and a vonformist piss poor dickfart.

  • TOM snyders still around???? Why hasn't he died yet?? When is he gonna die?? Snyders the most obnoxious mother in show biz...funny as f*ck at 2:35 when the sound's off and snyder has corgans voice...some one oughta get rid of snyder...I'll pay 10000 dollars for the whack job

  • @ioriorioriorio he died in 2007

  • North side Cubbie fag/just fucking around love SP

  • one of zhe best band ever!!

  • i dont know Tom Snyder but ive seen him every now and then since 96 or something and now i run into him on youtube if anyone was ever going to interview me i wish it had been him RIP

  • I don`t think this is turning out terribly better than if I`d done it while I was sleepy.

  • if you don't like the video delay, just do something else and listen to it.

  • I was at that Kiss, Pumpkins show at Dodgers stadium and I never knew what Beatles song they started with but it was great. Anyone know what song it was?

  • @mynameonurarm "Money, That's what I want"

Which funnily enough isn't a Beatles song... The Beatles themselves covered that song from Barrett Strong, lol.

  • @penusorus cool, thanks!

  • 1998

  • i also think that the douche bags that thumb me down should get sulphuric acid enemas. ; )

  • BTW i think adore is their 2nd best album

  • One that I adore youll always be my whore

  • there's like a 20 second delay on the video by luckily the interview is great enough to make it not matter

  • "I'm right and she hasn't realized shes wrong" WOW!!!!!! LOL

  • sooooo out of sync

  • I can't watch this, the massive delay ruins the video. I cant focus on what they're saying...

  • try using your ears. it's the content that matters, not the presentation, twit.

  • Fire up a colortini, sit back, relax, and watch the pictures, now, as they fly through the air:

  • Actually, he's dead now. So, your wish to see him off TV has been granted.

  • CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • y is the sound so poopy :-\

  • rithmnn guitar vocals, no?

  • bily is much taller in reality

  • the sound is not synced with video its so annoying

  • it's an interview, you don't need to see it, quit being such a whiny little bitch.

  • stop being such a jackass and mind your own bis scott toilet paper

  • @mattatat819

    yeah man... that blows!

  • can someone please have part 2 of this up?

  • calm down...

  • you dont have to look at it ive been listening to it while reading people's whiny little comments and have been enjoying it just fine

  • @Monchi2006 same here haha

  • I heard that smashing pumpkins was supposed to be at warped tour in 2009?

    Is this true

  • how could anyone even almost believe that? sp is way too good for warped tour. if i was was billy i would rather die than play at warped tour with never shout never and paramore and 3oh3. if anything they would play at lollapalooza

  • @mattatat819 its depresing to see them there.

  • @mattatat819

disagreed. i feel that sp should play where ever They want, because they can. No one is too good too NOT play because of status... fuk status... no pun intended.

  • @darrellvandever

hey well geuss what? its not about status, its about talent. yes, they should play where they want, but the thing is...they don't wanna play with the gay shit of today, not everything is gay shit these days, but warped tour is one of those things that i would definately call gay shit. the status of bands of today don't matter, its just that they suck.

  • @mattatat819

if u read my comment again you'd c how i agree with u, hey man fuk status, its not about status, so lets do without... maybe its just a matter of opinion at this point. i sorta c it like... if u never do it, you'll never know. life is always unpredictable therefore we are inclined to expect the unexpected. you may miss good things because yer talent got in the way... hmmm?

  • @mattatat819

one more thing... i totally agree with yer view point of the faggit ass shit that we have2 live with right now, yes mattatat819, they do suck, couldnt have said it better myself. then again billy does jam out in a dress from time to time lmao

  • @darrellvandever

haha yeah but he's allowed to wear dresses because i think legends such as himself have the right to do whatever they want without being made fun of.

  • @mattatat819 AMEN.

  • @mattatat819 dont even dare compare paramore and 30h3 wut the fuck is wrong wit u, paramore is insane, there not comparable to sp,s cuz there totally different

  • @spacedoutandbored "wut is wrong wit me?" ok first of all learn how to spell words correctly. second of all, you're coming off as a HUGE dumbass, i'm sorry but i wasn't comparing sp to those shitty bands haha. go and do what you want listen to your "paramore" but you don't have to talk to me about it.

  • @mattatat819 I know right?Specially with Adore, that album had some really strong songs like Tear or Daphne Descends..

  • @mattatat819 If your using full stops, why not use capital letters.

  • @mattatat819 Derp.

  • why are people crossing Kid A one of the most amazing electronic albums with adore. You cant cross Radiohead with smashing pumkins 2 completely different bands and styles. so stop comparing them. Now.

  • Possibly, because Kid A was a departure from Radiohead's usual sound, and Adore was a departure from Smashing Pumpkins usual sound.

  • best interview ever bill

  • hahaha, what an asinine thing to say!radiohead reinvented electronica?hahaha! ever hear of aphex twin dumbass?lol get ur shit straight....radiohead is cool i dig em but so do pretentious hipsters....smashing pumpkins just has a lot more memorable songs and cooler fans...not to mention superior musicianship...radiohead aint got shit on Billy's guitar ot jimmy's drums!

  • Why is Billy bald?

  • cause he shaved his head.

  • Because he shaved his head.

  • Next year marks the 15th anniversary of Bald Billy.

  • Descendant of Corganism at Amazon

  • hahaha thats the stupidest shit ive ever heard! I love MBV,sometimes is one of the greatest songs ive ever heard, but loveless sounds nothing like adore! If anything it sounds more like siamese dream with the guitar sounds and all..yea soon sounds so much like for martha!pfft yea i can even tell em apart omg what am i listening to?

  • wtf is up wit the audio being out of sync

  • No it's not?

  • no shit its diff, you got two diff bands, the point is the same one Billy made..they get bad reviews for music they make that later become genres that are praised hence radiohead. drum n bass/electronica and rock? Pumpkins did did it first,Radiohead gets the credit.Omg Radiohead is so revolutionary!

  • You are completely wrong.

Adore is primarily pop music with drum machines.

Kid A completely reinvented electronica, and completely strayed from a pop format, and was much more complex than anything on Adore.

Its not a matter of the bands being different, it's a matter of Radiohead being vastly superior to Smashing Pumpkins.

Also: no one in Radiohead is a deutsch bag.

  • You would do well to learn how to spell "douche" before using it against anyone.

That being said, I haven't listened to Kid A and I think Radiohead is a good band. But they are, in fact, vastly different from the Pumpkins. Adore was a risk, maybe an unnecessary one, but it's not held by anyone to be a defining album for the Pumpkins. If you want to bash the Pumpkins in the general sense, you'll have to bash their best works as well as their worst.

  • douche not deutsch (which among other things is a name of a bank! lol)

  • because you know them personally? you're a clown.

  • @ zayneinsane;

I'd say that comparing bands and music is about the dumbest thing to waste your time with. It's completely useless, bands have their own style, priorities, taste and so on. Displaying your opinion as a fact is even more stupid.

  • @zayneinsane Radiohead superior to the Pumpkins?? as fucking if, as of today the only Radiohead song the majority can name is 'creep' and that song was mediocre at best.

  • @despseekingsusan nickelback is fucking good dude do you have their new album? how about lady gaga

  • Adore is the greatest Pumpkin album ever made!

Radiohead got all the praise for kid A when the pumpkins had already Aced that style on Adore!

I love Billy's solo album too!

  • Kid A is very very diff to Adore... or am I wrong

  • yeah totally different. Yorke got his sound from English experimental electronica. Billy just made a record of subdued chamber pop

  • although, adore is an imitation off of MBV's "Loveless" so I guess My bloody valentine had it right the first time.

  • no, it's not. Mbvs album is an incredible album, one of the best, but adore is just billy being billy. A different animal

  • are you insane? siamese dream had a shoegazing sound to it, but not adore. Smashing Pumpkins used to sound like they mixed a bit of a SG sound in, but I would hardly say they copied Loveless. which is one of the best albums ever, btw

  • LAAAAAAGGY

  • still throwin javelins hahaha

  • Smashing Pumkins are amazing! Melon Collie was their best album!

  • gish and siamese dream

  • Mellon Collie, dude. But who cares, I love all their albums.

  • cant stand the lag

  • Corgan is a genius and Tom Snyder was one cool SOB.

  • second that

  • i once heard at school that snyders an asshole cause he critisizes other artists work

    i dont belive that though

  • the deepest song the pumpkins sing is 1979

maybe when you guys look for good music you should listen to the words rather than the proper amount of guitar distortion

just go play guitar hero you posers

  • Goddamn it. You just ruined this band and that song forever.

  • i was making that comment because people before me were saying the best pumpkins song was 'today'

its obvious theyre just looking for guitar heaviness (or just learned it from guitar hero)

    calm down dude

  • Look man. Listening to 'deep' and 'meaningful' music is OK. But the second you start bragging about how deep and symbolic your music is, you instantly turn it into garbage and make yourself look like a 14 year old.

  • If you want words read poetry, music is about sound, not lyrics. Lyrics can help make a good song amazing, but music is and has always been about the music, not the words.

  • Exactly.

  • dude, what the fuck do you know, music can help me more than just some words on a piece of paper

like the song creep by radiohead,i feel exactly like those song lyrics

  • Yeah but the lyrics aren't the fucking music.

I'm not saying lyrics aren't good, and that I don't like them.

Just that they aren't the music. Basically like in Creep by radiohead, the music brings out that feeling, and then the lyrics just dictate it.

  • the lyrics bring out that feeling, the music makes it appealing to the ear

the lyrics make it appealing to the heart and emotion

i know where your're coming from, you probally find more closure in poetry

but i find way more comfort in music than anything in the world

people escape the reality in the world in different ways man

i dont know if thats what you were referring to though, but i took it that way, sorry

  • No I don't, I know exactly what you mean. I strongly disagree though, the music itself can be appealing to heart and emotion. Listen to purely instrumental music, while that may not be what we are always looking for, I like to hear singing to and have lyrics, it's solely what music is. Lyrics are like the icing on the cake. I think we both share music as an escape though man, it's all good.

  • Goddamit, this is never going to end because obviously were not going to agree, which who gives a fuck anyway

look at it this way though, say, for example, someone you love dies all of a sudden for some fucked up reason, then for some reason you have the radio on,and this song comes out of nowhere and the singer totally sings about the same experience, like he knows how it feels or something, and he SINGS it with all his heart

wouldnt you feel like,i dont know,a bit of closure from that?

  • Yeah, but I could feel the same amount of closure just instrumentally, different keys, and notes in succession can paint a meaningful picture. Music has it's own separate meaning. I am simply arguing that the music is not the lyrics, they are just a good addition.

  • They're both important imo. To make music you don't need lyrics, however, lyrics can help sculpt a song and emphasize its meaning.

  • I agree totally dude, that's what I am saying it's like the the lyrics aren't the music, but they make a song great by sculpting it. There was just a guy saying that Smashing Pumpkins is not music, and that people need good lyrics, it's just stupid because Smashing Pumpkins has good lyrics, and even if their lyrics are terrible the music is great and makes up for it.

  • adore was a good album just not heavy enough...songs like Perfect would've been worshiped had they not come out with 1979

  • 1979 is an incredible song, they made the albums according to what they thought was best, not what everyone would love

  • Billy seems like a nice guy, but I've heard that he's actually a bit of a jerk. Has anyone met him b4? I like the dude.

  • I have been like no more then 15 feet away from him. Awsome concert!!!

  • awesome

  • Ihear ya bro. Pretty much every album after Mellon Collie was crap, with the exceptions of a few songs (Saturnine is one of my favorites).

  • no, I actually liked Zeitgeist and some songs from MACHINA

Adore sucked because it was no Jimmy Chamberlain

  • thats what i thought for a while but if ur a true fan than the newer stuff will grow on you

  • adore was one of the band's best works. it is different, but not worse, very emotional.

  • awesome, ava adore was amzing

  • If I would have to take a drink every time Synder says "very good," I would be drunk after 20 seconds.

  • lmao

  • whos dead?

  • tom snyder is

  • in England a nickname for breasts is 'pumpkins' and great breasts are 'smashing pumpkins'

  • While I appreciate you giving such insightful information, I assume this is a coincidence.

Or else one of my favorite bands of all time mine as well be named "Great Boobs".

  • Just because someone is dead dosent mean you should praise them and not judge their work as you would if they were alive

  • is that all u can say u dumbass?

He's dead what u want him to do ?

educate your dumbass and google him and u might cure ur ignorance (look it up under dumb)

  • snyder is the worst interviewer in history, and his combover is atrocious. someone (I forgot who) once said he looks like a dead beatle.

  • shut up hes dead u asshole

  • fuck you

  • Great interview. It sounds like this guy did his homework before shooting off his questions.

  • oh my lord.. talk about living in the past.. TOM JONES?!?!?! you gotta be kidding me

  • hes totally the wrong guy to interview billy.

  • u know i just realised, Billy kinda looks like Tom Cruise in a way (maybe its just me) :/

  • see it too. lol

  • Yep, Billy's handsome. He doesn't need hair to be beautiful.

  • man this interview is monotonous and slow... but still sp rule(i guees)

  • It was the "Late Late" show. It was probably past Billy's bedtime. That's why his responses seem so laconic.

  • I was really surprised; the interviewer actually did his homework. Usually interviews are a rehash of what every layman would know about the band ie David Letterman, jay Leno, MTV etc. So, props to the host. It's like he knew the last 10 years of the band.

  • anyone else think billy corgan is like nosferatu?

  • yes

  • this is a great interview

  • billy corgan rocks. i've just watched this interview of trent reznor with manson and they were saying shit bout the smashing pumpkins, fucking devil cock sucking heroin freaks

  • Smashing Pumpkins

  • billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan billy corgan!!!
  • Who? :P

  • Billy Corgan has a perfect head.

  • LOL. I've always thought that myself.

  • what year wud this interview be?

  • Corgan is CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!
